alot of people. and like someone said.. the game with the largest online roster for original xbox games is Halo 2 with about 3,600 unique players playing. The other 23+ million are a much bigger priorityDead Man Typing said:Well done idiots who wanted a larger friends list, you just killed an impressive back catalogue of games and one of the reasons I stood behind Microsoft's pay to play service.
I jumped on Dead Or Alive Ultimate a few months ago and there were 4 people playing online. Just 4, but those 4 people could have been from different parts of the world all having a blast playing together. I always liked that about Xbox Live, that even though they'd moved to the 360 the old games would still work perpetually. At least that's what I thought.
Microsoft better have some really cool features to make up for this lost one. It was nice knowing that virtually every Xbox Live compatible game ever released was still playable online, no matter who published it or when it was released. So I'm a little upset about this, but it's a feature I will grudgingly give up if the benefits are noticeable.
If they only did this to raise the friend cap then I'll be disappointed. Who needs more than 100 friends on Xbox Live anyway?
Do you play it online against others or just play the game single player? as the game will still work just no online features.CozMick said:Wait, so my Xbox Originals copy of Burnout 3: Takedown will now be useless?
I play that shit weekly, awwwwwwwwwwww man.
Damn you MS![]()

No it will work, you have to sign into your live profile but not online at all, long as your xbox has a profile on it you can still play offline and 4 player split screen.Blueblur1 said:A while after my last post, I realized that Phantasy Star Online won't be playable at all. This is excellent if true.Diablohead said:No it will work, you have to sign into your live profile but not online at all, long as your xbox has a profile on it you can still play offline and 4 player split screen.
I own the game and it's been a long time since I stuck an ethernet cable into my xbox.
I think the PC version uses a much more up to date live system since the live interface for that game is the same as current pc GFWL titles, so it's as safe as this generation's games.jetsetfluken said:Crap, there's still a dozen or so Xbox 1 games I own that I never played online yet.
Maybe we should all start up some gatherings in some of the games that will be discontinued.
And wait, we can't play Halo 2 anymore? But...but that's backwards compatible...but it doesn't have an Xbox Original...here's betting before April we'll see it hit the XB Originals. :lol If not I guess the PC version will still work, no?
Yes, all the more reason for them to get the XBLA/PSN remake released this summer, right?Come on Capcom.
If sega were to somehow bring the pc version of blue burst to xbla and work out a payment system so they could make servers again it may work well, but it's a game where only a select few fans actually play it now, look at psu that place is near dead since the 3rd month of release :lol I also refuse to ever stick my money cards on live ever again.Blueblur1 said:I hope developers are reading this (even I doubt a 3-page thread will make an impact). PSO and SF3 on XBLA would be SO GOOD.
wtf, i had tons of lagfree games.Projectjustice said:Its unplayable on the original Xbox, im glad this is happening. Now you people can move on to 2df/Supercade and GGPO where you can find a very playable online version.

I'm noticing that everyone's requesting XBLA ports. This wouldn't be the first time GAF was vocal about some of these games getting a downloadable re-release. I hope developers are reading this (even I doubt a 3-page thread will make an impact). PSO and SF3 on XBLA would be SO GOOD.

Then they came for the Legacy Live Gamesand there was no one left on XBOX to speak out for them.
PSU 360 has had a decent sized community. There are a couple hundred players at the least (judging by the server lists) there are paying Sega $10 a month. While the game hasn't been immensely popular it seems that it has been a worthwhile endeavor for Sega seeing as how it's going to outlive the PS2/PC versions. (There's also about a hundred players constantly playing the PSU 360 demo - I don't understand those people.)Diablohead said:I think the PC version uses a much more up to date live system since the live interface for that game is the same as current pc GFWL titles, so it's as safe as this generation's games.
This might be good as the pc halo 2 online side of things is like a ghost town most times of the day with only 40 or so people online at once, might bump up a but once the xbox live support drops.

So they would have to: Port the pc code to 360 keeping it within the 2gig limits, bring back servers and ships to log in to and make a monthly value worth paying without using credit cards, in which case I would easily pay MS points a month if the community was strong.
