Microsoft: PS4 won't make us change "anything" with Xbox One [ummm]

Good news for the day but I doubt it stops anything going forward. Microsoft has tainted next gen and while I'm glad they wised up I can't drink that kool-aid just yet. They have yet to really provide me with why they the Xbox One is a must buy for me, and lack the vision Sony has been touting since February. Money hat exclusives all you want but they still need to change their attitude and approach to gamers if they want me to upgrade to their system. Being arrogant and wishy washy doesn't give me faith in them at all.

The only shit Microsoft is gonna push in, is Sony's. And we're all gonna see it.

With what? The studios they don't have? The $100 cheaper console they don't have? The stronger hardware they don't have?

Ease down Ripley, you're just grinding the transaxle.

This shit is fucking gold.. hilarious how they backtracked on this, it makes them look weak as hell. Good for gamers tho.

So, Major Nelson apologists...Is Major Nelson:

1) A liar

2) An out-of-the-loop PR hack whose "inside" scoops are worthless

???

if i can cut him any slack whatsoever, it's only because he was being tasked with what was basically 'mission impossible' - convincing people that shit actually tastes good, & is good for you...

LOL

How quickly things change.

Shows how quickly it puts to death the lie that NeoGAF is some Sony fanboy haven

we just want our fucking games unencumbered by greedy distrusting hands trying to check on us whenever we try to do anything with our games

Xbox One is too pricey, but that's merely a simple strategic decision and not some epic attempt to fuck consumers up the ass that will have generation-spanning implications. At least now we can all anticipate games on the platform without hesitation

Man I wish I could get a picture of Tretton's face when he heard this news. He must have been grinning like a bastard now lol

Kinect is still checking what you are doing.

It was Sony's bold move to come up with a DRM free console that forced Microsoft to adapt. I wonder if pressure from Sony forced Nintendo to also come up with their own relatively DRM free console.

Yep, looks like everybody's happy now.

Nah, some people wanted to see MS crash completely and the DRM was a golden ticket for a generation of ban-free trolling. Those people are pissed. Regular gamers are probably happy. Xbox fanboys are ecstatic. I'm just glad I'm not being forces to sit out on a whole platform. As a couple that likes to own every platform the wife and I were bummed that we weren't going to get to play those games. I don't care if we had live video of Don crying while watching Fallon, I just want a bunch of games. I couldn't care less about them looking weak. Hell, they guy who's over Nike could be weak for all I know. Whatevz, these Ones are fresh as hell!

would it have been better now or later? at least if they waited a month it would have made a bit more sense no? anyways. backpedaling this early? lol at least it means we get to see interviews and questions on why the change and how it affects them in the future. will be awesome. and no more titan jokes. RIP

Like Facebook privacy settings that change every now and then?

I don't know I don't use Facebook

but I am not really as concerned about them fibbing about the Kinect secretly actually listening in. It sucks Kinect is packed in, I think it's gross and the privacy issues are still worrisome in general, but I don't think it's a deal breaker as long as I can turn that device off (which we can right now).

Anyway, I'm getting an Xbox One in a year or two after a price drop, so it's not like I am fully on board. They definitely caused me to pull back, whereas 360 was my primary central console last gen, PS4 will be it this gen

Well honestly they're not changing this based on Sony's outcry :p

Imo, I liked the idea of being able to install all my games on the HDD and pick any game in my inventory from a list instead of having to search through all my discs, that's so last gen and digital is the future imo, unfortunately because people are affraid of change, the future will have to pause for yet another generation.

Its a sad day, for me and many of my friends that live in other states whom I've already been in contact with and were looking forward to share our games on the fly, no way I'm going to pay for shipping the games now, so ghetto.

Developers and retailers must know it as early as possible. Not to mention potential launch buyers. Preorder wars are in full heat right now.

Well we get both our consumer rights back and a funny thread by them not waiting. If they waited it wouldn't have been as funny so I vote for it being better that they did it now.

Microsoft basically just tore out a infrastructure this whole system was designed around.

Now were left with:
-More Expensive
-Less Power

PS4

It will now literally come down to the games each platform offers. All bets are off. Aside from mandatory Kinect anyway.

I think MS jumped the shark today. But thankfully gamers all around the world benefit.

That said, this whole debacle is the biggest game company screw up since $599.99. What a clusterfuck.
