Microsoft reviews its E3 performance (Eurogamer)

Do these guys really believe this stuff, or is it their aim to damage control? If he were to say something like "We could've done better" or "Reception has been mixed" would it get him shipped out?

Probably both. MS seems like the kind of company that tries to hype all their employees up for their products and "company culture"... but then you wind up with a bad case of groupthink.

SmartGlass isn't competing with Apple. It's competing with Wii U.

It's difficult for them to make a big deal out of SmartGlass because there's nothing to show yet, but I think it's a significant announcement. They're stealing Nintendo's idea but just matched the Wii U's major selling point without the need of trotting out a next gen console.

I like Nintendo's idea. I think there are significant gaming possibilites. Problem is they're doing it on cheap hardware. Microsoft just matched all the possibilites and gaming potential by using existing and better tablet choices. It's a brilliant business plan that just trumped Nintendo's entire next gen strategy.

The SmartGlass announcement could actually help Nintendo. They've got a problem attracting development but now 3rd party devs can multiplatform games that implement the tablet features.

Don't underestimate tablet integration with next gen consoles. I think there's a huge opportunity to increase gaming immersion significantly. It also provides a real integration of handheld and console gaming. Is it the next step in gaming evolution? We'll see about that. It depends on how much devs want to run with the idea, but I do think SmartGlass is a significant announcement.

I know People are pissed with the lacks of megatons or AAA announcements by MS and Sony, but if they are saving it for next gen and then i dont mind.
Its pointless releasing more exclusives now.m halo 4 and xbla

They released two spin off games which are enough apart fro

They have enough games imo to sustain till next e3.

Also their was no price cut either which was surprising

Yeah the only thing I really was surprised by was no price drop. Still Halo 4 and XBLA are more than they need to get us through the rest of the 360's life.
