"Six or so months?" A game will be $20 - $40 on Amazon by then.
1 month and the game can be imported from UK for $20 by then.
I laugh at US 'sales'

Could it be argued that they price it this way to do retail stores a favour?
Either way, I don't fucking care. I find it baffling that any one cares that the games are overpriced. I wouldn't even buy them if they were underpriced. I love XBLA games as much as the next guy, and DLC too, so I'm not shy of digital content. But these are games in which you can buy the retail disc version whenever you want... I'll go for the disc every time, even if the digital version is cheaper.

Wouldn't the games be on your gamertag so in theory you just use your same gamertag on the next xbox and redownload the games.
Bring on the Steam console. The world is ready Gabe.
Why charge for less when idiots buy it same price? Why give them free online when they'll pay for it.
From their point of view they are absolutely right. From the customer's point of view there is no reason to buy a full priced 360 game months down the line, given that most of the time the physical copies will have dropped in price. The only reason to use it right now is get a game that you can't find at retail anymore.
I won't touch the service until they allow us to buy games with microsoft points.
If it makes the slightest bit of profit, why change anything?
If people are really stupid enough to make this succesful for them then hell, I wouldn't change it either.
That said, this practice and how high the games stay just keep pushing more and more towards PC and handheld gaming.
Choice.
1. Bitch about used games.
2. Puff up chest about poor timing and noncompetitive pricing for digital games.
3. Release new Halo/Gears/Forza game
4. Profit?
So tell me GAF, if the consoles go all DD in the future (they will but not with the next gen), who do you trust more with your DD purchase? Nintendo? Sony? Microsoft?
Or Valve.
I did buy Rock Band 3 for $20, but that's probably one of the few decent values on the service.
Who says that? I just want day and date retail games. But MS is clueless as ever....and people want DD only consoles.

People need to stop buying overpriced games.
Seriously though I have a hard time believe this is actually successful... How low are MS expectations?
I have got 40+ hours out of all these GoD games so they were all good value to me. And I was able to pay with MS points bought at a discount or gotten free thru Bing Rewards.
In some instances I can understand people buying games digitally at full price 6 or more months after release.
I'm brazilian, and it's common here to find 1 or even 2 years old games costing 60 dollars or even more.
I buy a lot of games, and many times if I buy then digitally from US sites or services I'll end up paying less than half the price I would pay here.
The only thing stopping me from going all digital is HD space (and I have a 500GB PS3) and the lack of confidence on both MS Live and Sony PSN.
I don't know about you guys, but I bought Mass Effect 2 on PSN at launch and I can't find it anymore on my Download list. Cerberus pack is there, and the terminus armor and other stuff too, but I can't find the full game download.
Speaking of this, it would be nice if someone who has bought the game on PSN too could check this for me.
I wonder if the U.S. government would even allow DD only consoles that have only one online store.
Nothing on there goes lower than 19.99![]()
They don't seem to have a problem with iPhones, nooks, or Kindles. Why not a console?
One of the few things PSN kinda got right.
If you're not doing the legwork to find the best deal possible, you're paying for convenience. It's not like you have to buy this way.

Yes, convenience is a big part of it. Not having to swap discs has got to be worth something.
Fixed.
Right now.....Valve, by a wide margin. Sony second, as they have shown more flexibility in terms of pricing and what not.
