Hm.. I can't seem to find any waypoints for my quests on the map. Looked for the well (first quest) for half an hour. I must be overlooking something.
It's near the temple in the town. I think well was marked as white doors in the map screen.

Did you look well ? (sorry... )Hm.. I can't seem to find any waypoints for my quests on the map. Looked for the well (first quest) for half an hour. I must be overlooking something.
Any idea if M&M 1-9 will be made available on Steam?
where did you order the box? from ubi? only seeing digital only buying options from my regular shopsI ordered the box.
Cannot resist a good looking box and cloth map for 30€, especially considering that the game seems well received and I get all the digital stuff on top of it.
CHRIST
jumping in now. MIGHT & MAGIC

How's Uplay? Not sure if I want that in my system.
Same. I don't even see it on Uplay, which is where it's supposed to be available.
Yeah, I ordered it from Ubi. Paid with paypal, free shipping even. (To Austria)where did you order the box? from ubi? only seeing digital only buying options from my regular shops
Game's great so far. Really liking it, it's really tactical. Really reminds me of the time when RPGs weren't as streamlines as they are these days (though, of course, it likely will get a bit more streamlines soon :/ )
Ah, new generation gamers who still think that only twitch is "skill". Rather sad.
I ordered the box.

The page did refuse to load once during the transaction though, but a refresh fixed that.

Let's hope it's because everyone is buying MMXYesterday during the day the store was FUCKED. It did not work at all for me for a couple of hours.
The fact that we are getting both is pretty damn fantastic.Wow i want that and Grimrock 2.
You devil you....Some pics for the curious, click for full size:
If it wasn't a character portrait fighter I would buy it as I love turned based RPG's.
When I started exploring the first town, I had performance issues. It seemed like I a would press a key, and there would be a significant pause before the game responded. This is annoying, especially in the grid-based game (press forward, wait, screen moves, press forward, wait, screen moves). My PC is not cutting edge, but has no issues with Grimrock, New Vegas, and most other games.
Should I pick this up now or wait for the full release?
I really dislike turn based games. It just completely eliminates the fun, and makes it feel more like a mathematical equation. It removes the element of player "skill" from the equation, and makes it feel like it could easily be reduced down to a series of yes/no answers. While that could also be said of non turn based games, or any game, it's not as glaringly obvious as it is in turn based games.
Realtime immerses you, while turn based constantly reminds you of its binary nature.
And exploration is not fun at all, or even a real element, in most turn based games, since player movement is usually limited to some degree (Amount of moves per round, fewer moves if mobs are nearby, etc.).

Looking good. I bought the Steam version a couple of days ago but haven't played it just yet.
Edit: Oh, nice, Ubi added Might & Magic VI to the sub
I looked at the game title, knew I played it when it first came out and loved it. The brain refused to give details until I loaded it and then WOW!
Nothing quite like not playing a game for so long you forgot everything except knowing you loved it. Then you boot it again and you instantly remember where everything is and why you loved it.
Mmmm, reading this thread, I'm very much tempted by this. But I haven't played any M&M title before. And I'm a stickler for playing series in order. And I own all the previous games on GoG.
So basically, maybe see y'all in a thousand hours or so. But I'll buy it sooner than that to show support.
Well, if you are talking about narrative chronological order, then the story begins with M&M: Clash of Heroes, continues with HoMM V and Heroes VI and then it's finally on M&M X.
It won't do you much good playing M&M 1-9 (and HoMM 1-4) unless you want to catch an odd easter-egg or two.
Yeah, X is part of the reboot universe, not the original timeline.Well, if you are talking about narrative chronological order, then the story begins with M&M: Clash of Heroes, continues with HoMM V and Heroes VI and then it's finally on M&M X.

Anyone else having trouble playing M&M6 on Steam?
It says M&M6 is having trouble loading files, please re-install.
Did that and nothing. Verified cache, nothing.
Unlike GOG, steam doesn't do anything to make old games work on new machines. You'll want to install the community patch.
I assume the Steam version of M&MVI is the very same as the GOG version as I copied the game to my rather crummy Win7 x64 laptop to see if it's DRM-free (it is) and it booted up just fine. I had quite the nostalgiagasm when the intro began playing, haha.

Skip M&M1 and 2 (they are pretty ancient and hardcore) and start with Isles of Terra (M&M3). IoT is where the real M&M begins!
Any clue how long the Early Access period is going to last? I am definitely going to grab it but I would like to wait a few weeks before I do.Edit edit: I should note that the last time Ubi did this -- pre-purchasing Rayman Origins netted you a Steam copy of Rayman 2 -- the bonus game never appeared on its own, so if you're at all interested, I'd purchase M&MX during the Early Access period just to be safe.
The game isn't releasing until 2014 so presumably early access will be available for most (all is more likely) of that time.Any clue how long the Early Access period is going to last? I am definitely going to grab it but I would like to wait a few weeks before I do.

I've been playing games for about 20 years or so.
Sure, there are more aspects of gaming than twitch reflexes. I meant player skill (Timing, reflexes, knowledge of the games mechanics.), as opposed to knowledge and patience (strategic aspects.).
