Minecraft PS4 out NOW in the EU

Actually, I think I may be confused. If I bought the ps3/vita version now, and then paid 5 bux to upgrade to the PS4 version, do I lose the Vita version or just the PS3 version?
 
The PS4 version upgrade seems to be free at the moment for those who have bought the PS3 version. Has gone through and is downloading fine for me.

You don't lose anything, you just gain the PS4 version for the upgrade cost.

Which kinda sux in my opinion (but from what I understand the PS4 version is just too much for the Vita. And part of me would rather have it for the PS4 even if I can't cross save on the Vita but part of me thinks the only reason I even want the option for my console is to build more on the world I'd mostly be working on my Vita with (I think I'd mostly play it on my Vita).

Why would you lose access to the Vita version? That doesn't make any sense.

Giant open worlds that are randomly generated in which you mine for resources to use in crafting.

There are animals and people and monsters in the worlds as well.
 
Was free for me in AU for some reason (via mobile store). I'm not at home but appears to have been added to the download queue successfully.
 
Ooh, same price as PS3 version :/ Should I bother spending an extra £3.69 going the PS3 (and possibly Vita) -> PS4 upgrade route or just go for the PS4 version? Decisions
 
It's too bad the Vita version is going to be a bit later. Ah well will go nutso with the PS4 version in the meantime I'm sure
 
I think the system must have made some sort of error and randomly be gifting it to certain people as free since the prices are showing up perfectly normal for me here.

I dunno, for some reason I was thinking since they were linked (like cross save), that it would make you lose access to the Vita version as well. Hey, it made sense in my head ;).

The free version seems to be working perfectly, it looks like the Store is taking a hit at the moment though so it's struggling to "buy" the free DLC. I get the feeling somebody is going to get into trouble for publishing this

Do you build the monsters? Do they differ based on what you build? What restrictions are there in terms of materials for you to build stuff? Like, can you build a Mile high wall?

Seems to be the full game unlock as far as I can see, doesn't say it is the trial anywhere on the UK store or my PS4.

Scratch that, seems to be the trial version and not the full version of the game, didn't say it anywhere till I got into the game.

No they are randomly spawned throughout the world. In terms of materials you can mine everything but the sky and rock at the bottom of the world. You need different tools to mine the stuff. There might be a sky limit but its fairly tall. And the world is about 5000 X 5000 iirc in the PS4 version.

There is also a creative mode which is pretty much god mode. Flying is enable and you can get any time you want without mining it.

I thought it'd be £20 since its $20 and sony charge the same.

Paid £13/14 for $20 psn code.

Sick of my life.
 
I downloaded a free version but I haven't checked if it was a trial or the full game yet. The only two options on the SEN store for me was the free version and the upgrade. It might be worth nothing the upgrade was 'unavailable' for me as I don't have the PS3 version.

You don't build the monsters they are regular AI. There are also boss battles like the enderdragon and with later updates to the console version the Wither boss. You can work yourself to a goal in survival if you want to you don't HAVE to build.

Makes me mad when people compare it straight to legos.
 
If the PS4 version isnt cross buy with Vita they should at least offer a simalar $5 "upgrade" to get the vita version as well.

They are handling this cross buy stuff really weird but I guess thats what happens when you do it after the fact and have a retail version with no redeemable code as well.

Well if you are willing to put in an additional $5 for the game, you could just buy the PS3 version. From what I understand the PS3/Vita versions are available to you in a single purchase (Buy PS3, get the Vita version and vice-versa) then just spend $5 to get the PS4 version.

Yeah. I know that. But I am sure loads of people will just buy the PS4 version and then be annoyed they didnt get the PSV version.


They should just fix the weird cross buy situation they have.

The same thing happened with Sportsfriends. No outrage there. The PS4 listing (Correct me if I'm wrong) doesn't claim to be Cross-Buy. Only the Vita and PS3 claim to be Cross-Buy. If you own the PS3 one, you can upgrade to the PS4. And two things, Vita owners are on average probably a lot more tuned in than others and there's not that many Vita owners to get outraged. Why is a Vita owner buying the PS4 trying to get Cross-Buy anyway?
