Do we have any prerelease news on PS4 vs Xbox One? I had it on 360 so the upgrade discount would be nice but I'd rather the PS4 if it runs/looks better, thanks!

Minecraft PS4 out NOW in the EU

Both are 1080p 60fps. I watched someone playing the PS4 version last night and the draw distance is much longer than 360/PS3 but the texture pop-in was ridiculous.

Texture pop-in? You mean the game is drawing blank boxes and only textures then when you're within a specified distance? I don't think PC Mine craft does this does it? How odd.
Yep. It was distracting as hell when watching the stream, but I assume if PC does this as well that the 360 version I put 100+ hours into did it and that never bothered me so this won't either. I don't spend much time watching other people play games, so perhaps I was just noticing things that I never see when playing myself.

If you have a capable PC, get that. I'm able to play it with no problems on my year old laptop with an i5. If not, it really depends. Minecraft is a game best played with friends in my opinion. If you have more friends on one console or another that should influence the decision. Same with how many extra controllers you have for split screen.
If you're worried about performance, I'm willing to bet they are similar and should get updates in about the same time.

Yeah, really wish the PC version could do that. Same with controller support for comfy couch gaming (no idea why this isn't in yet). Luckily, my friends have it on PC so it isn't an issue.

I think there are a few mods that add a splitscreen mode with controller support.
I'm getting both. I'm getting it on PS4 ($20) because I only have 1 Xbox one controller currently and I want to wait for more color options, but I'll also get the Xbox one version because it's only $5 for me to upgrade. I imagine they'll run super similarly because from what I've played of the ps4 demo on my UK psn account its almost identical to the last gen versions with larger maps and a longer draw distance. There's nothing next gen looking or feeling about it but I didn't expect anything from Minecraft.

I've only briefly played the free demo on my shitty PC but I'm thinking of buying the PS4 version. Basically, I just want to know if it's a competent version to get the "full" MC experience (minus mods).
Will there be GAF groups on PS4 that build together on a map long term or is that not feasible?

I know how to change the skins, but how do you chose a different texture pack, is that only in creative mode?

Please help guys. I added it to my cart, paid for it and then came an error. Now I've been deducted £13 out of my bank account and I have nothing to show for it. When I go through it again it says there's an error and I don't want to pay for it twice. Also, my library is empty. I've no idea what's going on.
Is it just me or is the SEN online store a pile of rubbish? It feels like they tried to build an app instead of a website (loads of redirects, reloading, loading screens etc) and most of the time it locks up when I try to log in then gets stuck on the loading.. screen on subsequent visits until I clear my cache. Can't log in at the moment, open firebug and it's spewing out a ton of javascript warnings about my user object being empty.

i'm considering getting this on PS, but then I saw the sheer amount of DLC xbox got and now i'm torn :/
There seems to be quite a few DLC packs already up for PS4. I'm going to go on a whim and guess that it's all the same stuff you can get on PS3 just ported over.

I rented this on PS3 with a physical copy a while ago and now when I look at the Minecraft PS4 on the store, it says that it's $4.99. Would it be a safe move to buy it or will I just have to pay the $20 dollars in game or something?

Did you have to input a code from the rented copy on your PS3 by any chance or do you just need a save file? Im about to rent this bitch and buy for $5. lol.
It is different because PC is Java based and PS3/PS4 are coded in a different language. They had to rework the game into a new engine. Which is why PC always goes first because it is the flagship platform and then the other platforms (PI, PE, 360, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Vita) all follow after it.
It really is an amazing feat to replicate the game in a completely different engine.

I've tried it and it's horrible. You basically just run the game several times and move the windows around yourself and join each instance to a multiplayer server. Console version is much better in this regard.
