The Infrastructure in Twisted Metal: Head on was fantastic. I've never played a Mingol game Online, so I can't wait.
Snowball said:Yes but how many?
And where are the important titles with infrastructure?
Yeah that's what I meant... I haven't really noticed that many that lets you play with random players. Probably because I haven't been paying attention to PSP titles until a few months ago =PSnowball said:I think he means that using infrastructure (and not ad-hoc) Sony is finally using the "official online way", as DS did since its first games.
Using a normal wifi system you should be able to play Minna 2 (like Killzone right?) with your friends all over the world without using Kai.
Ah.....
KAI
Why the hell don't you use it anymore?
Everytime I enter the PSP room I see people just playing Monster Hunter and Monster Hunter 2. This is a pity!!!!

The only reason the import wasn't day one for me is the hope that the us release will be.whatdidyousay said:That's great news! Hopefully the US version will follow soon...

Regardless, do want.
AstroLad said:How long was the delay between the first one's release in JP & NA?
XiaNaphryz said:Looks like all those initial sales predictions early in the thread are way off. We'll have to see what kind of legs the game will have.
I think they were both launch titles, so December to March.AstroLad said:I might pick up a PSP just for this. Waiting on Shihiko's impressions/review. How long was the delay between the first one's release in JP & NA? If I'm inclined to play it I'll probably just import like I did with HSG5.

As you expect to see in every second release on the same console Clap Hanz has increased the courses and characters to a nice multiple of 2 which crunches down to 12 Courses and 20 Characters. If youre a fan of MingolP then there should be no stopping you on picking this one up, the game has gotten much better over all. There are however a few downsides but the positive aspects far outweigh the negatives.
....
Positive aspects about MingolP2 speaks for itself. Online Mode through Infrastructure, more great courses on top of the already true classics, still as easy to pick up as MingolP and also great improvement on the character system with the addition of item combinations being able to change the stats and abilities of a character.
Negative aspects I believe were quite minimal as I mentioned the positives out weigh the negatives far too much. Though some may feel different about these; Skull or High and Low Trajectory Impact shots removed, Less clubs and balls to customise with, More loyalty grinding required with each character, Poor online chat system well actually there isnt one, Single save data file per memorystick and also still no method to pass and play multiplayer using one Playstation Portable system. It was also a shame they didnt release a Playstation Portable Slim Bundle with it.
Recommendation same as how I recommended MingolP I think with the addition that this one is much more fun even if it is your first time into the series, plus you get everything the first game has and more. There is no need to fiddle with third party software and computers just so you can play with other people. Beginners should be able to squeeze out around 6 to 12 months of offline gaming and probably more if they get into playing it online. Great replay value as usual and also a good excuse to switch over to a Playstation Portable Slim.
AstroLad said:Got this game yesterday. Damn fun; MNG really is the perfect on-the-go game. There are tons of collectable items, and as Shihiko noted in his review you different clothes and items actually affect your stats, which is quite cool.
So they've taken a cue from Pangya? Nifty.AstroLad said:Got this game yesterday. Damn fun; MNG really is the perfect on-the-go game. There are tons of collectable items, and as Shihiko noted in his review you different clothes and items actually affect your stats, which is quite cool.
el Diablo said:So can you still level yourself up overall like in Open Tee or do the stat boosts only come from the clothes and items? Liked how in open Tee after collecting a certain amount of outfit / hair / acessory the stat associated with that piece went up slightly. Was a fairly significant boost, i know the power boost was 40 yards when you hit level 10. Would be dissappointed if this was taken out.
DevelopmentArrested said:I assume it's not that hard to play if you don't know Japanese...?
AstroLad said:I believe you still level up regularly as well, but I'm just a few games in . . . and I don't read Japanese. Did notice the item boosts though.
el Diablo said:Shihiko said that some balls and clubs were taken out, how many were left? Not looking for any specific club info just the total number. In Open Tee even if you didn't have a club there was a placeholder so if it's the same you should still be able to see how many are available.
M3wThr33 said:So how CAN you alter shots? Is it still up-down for super backspin? Or is there a need for that anymore?
Also, what's the difference between the red and blue flaming shots?
(are 6 of the courses just the returning ones?)
AstroLad said:Looks like maybe six clubs and eight balls; at least those are the slots that seem open.
kenta said:Why is everyone saying "this is a good reason to upgrade to a slim"? Is there some wacky requirement I'm unaware of?
el Diablo said:Down from 16 clubs (10 with different stats and 6 were just cosmetic variations of certain clubs); balls are probably the same (there were 8 before). It looks like a ton of clubs got the chopping block. Not too happy about that but i'll need to see stats before i pass final judgement.
AstroLad said:Well there are cosmetic variations as well. I just have the first club, but you can switch it to a squeaky toy that is not included in one of the six blank slots, fwiw.
M3wThr33 said:As for the loading times, the only ones it ever has are when you go to the character select screen and when you go to the first hole. Past that there are NO Loading screens.
el Diablo said:Might not be that bad then, guess they could cut one of the extra spin or power clubs and just have one, and ditch the grass cutter club.
M3wThr33 said:To be fair, I only switch off between the Beginner's club and the Big Air in the first one.
I either need better impact or better distance. I couldn't care less about the others.
I'm out of the loop... had no idea load times were improved w/ the slim. Sucks that they're bad on MNGP2.GamePnoy74 said:Just got this game yesterday (along with GT5P)...now I know why all y'all are recommending upgrading to the slim...loading times are pretty bad =P
Worse than the first? Or just bad to you in general?GamePnoy74 said:Just got this game yesterday (along with GT5P)...now I know why all y'all are recommending upgrading to the slim...loading times are pretty bad =P
