Mirror's Edge I bombed hard, it would be silly to make it exclusive for any system.

it would make a lot of sense for Microsoft.
casuals are going to be all over the Xbox and won't know or care about DRM and stuff.
Core gamers, informed gamers do, Microsoft has to win them over. Mirror's edge is exactly the game that could appeal to those...it's the kind of game they need to appeal to non casuals.
I'm scared.

even if it was heavily advertising on one system over the other, it wouldn't matter. ea has no shame and isn't really the type to try and build a fanbase on a specific line of platforms. they go where the money is. i wonder if it's something that doesn't work longterm though. i have noticed there are other publishers that keep certain franchises on certain platforms and they seem to do fine. they might not pull in the revenue that ea does, but ea hasn't been very profitable lately, has it?

Yup, really. Videogames are not consumables for me, like food, where I eat them and then they're gone. I still play some of my favorite games of all time here and there, and the idea of them just being rendered unusable one day is unacceptable.

How about them being rendered unusable one day if my internet is down for a day or more? That's unacceptable.




The Kinect is "pivotal" because Microsoft says it is. Not because it's truly necessary for me to play Call of Duty. I don't just swallow whatever Microsoft feeds me. Them saying something is important isn't enough for me to junk up my living room with their big camera.





The Wii sensor bar? Have you noticed a difference in the size of the Wii sensor bar and the Kinect camera for Xbox One? Here is a hint. One of them is about 20 times the size of the other.

As far as Sony requiring the camera. There isn't a single reason to believe this is going to be true. Not even one. I'd bet anything this will not be the case.


When someone realizes the starting rules are a joke, the games become irrelevant. I'm not playing by Microsoft's ridiculous rules. No thank you. Not interested.

The "one day offline thing in 10 years" is still weird for me. Who's to say it will be? And I have yet to ever witness Xbox live being down for more then 4 hours tops this entire generation. Also, its not always online, that seems to be the confusion around these parts.

Anyway, none of the stuff you pointed out effect the next person. So whatever. Its like people pluck out these complaints just because its logical to say, but have absolutely no negative effect to them in any degree, shape or form.

What happens to all your Xbox One games when Microsoft's servers aren't there to authenticate in 10, 15, 20 years? They're worthless. All the games you bought don't work.

Oh well, it's not like there is nothing that could possibly be done about this.
Like that one last xbone firmware update that simply tells it to not give a crap about any servers anymore and makes it function like the xbox 720 we all wished for!

IMO high chance of it, its been somerhing EA didn't want to risk financially, so if MS is funding it for exclusivety to pull the core in, EA might allow it since otherwise it likely would've never been made.

Also, MS might stop forcing Kibect onto the core crowd, they don't need to sell it to them anymore, since its in every box. Get the casuals with kinect, core with traditional exclusives and ways.

I WANT MIRRORS EDGE 2 SO BAD. I have beat the first game 5 times.

I worked compliance for Mirror's Edge 1. Being in a room with a bunch of other people trying to make sure the speed runs were achievable... man, good times. =)

...I don't think anyone actually accomplished the second level's time though. hah. I just hope it comes to PC, because I want to play this with Oculus Rift, and I don't plan on buying an Xbone unless some serious DRM/online changes occur.

I really don't believe it will be console exclusive. We have no idea how those leaks got to Amazon. They could have come from Microsoft themselves. I don't think it indicates that it'll be an exclusive at all if that's the only evidence. And I just don't see EA limiting this to one console. The original had a small cult following so why would they want to narrow this fanbase even more?

I don't get the love for this game myself, controls were janky although the concept was neat. But if it took the creation of the xbone to get it made, and people are happy, thats cool. At least it's not a military shooter. We need more of those games.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense to bundle it with every PS4 and then not make it mandatory. Both consoles have a camera with 4 mics bundled, both are gonna use them. Always.

Interesting. It does seem like it will certainly be exclusive to Xbox One. For those reeling about potential Kinect usage... Perhaps it could just have a different mode for Kinect gameplay outside of the normal campaign? That would tailor to all parties involved: Microsoft wanting it to utilize Kinect in some capacity and there for those who may be interested in it, and the normal controller-based campaign for those with no interest in Kinect. And on the plus side, if it was an extra mode, more people would be more likely to try it just to see how it works, especially if there were specific achievements tied to said mode.
