This has happened before and will happen again.

Just more of America's pathetically immature behavior towards sexuality. Oh no, someone had sex, that makes them a slut! *goes and masturbates while crying*

In Vanessa's case, those photos were never meant for public eyes. Different circumstances (and a different pageant organization).

The Miss America organization has since acknowledged that she's the rightful title holder for the year she won. Though, to be honest, if she wasn't as successful as she is and she wasn't the first black woman to win the title, they probably would have considered “giving her crown back.”

And, Devolution, the Miss USA and Miss America pageants only advertise the swimsuit portions of their respective pageants because it gets people to watch. It's not just about this weird form of sexuality, like you imply. You can't surmise things about pageantry from Toddlers & Tiaras.

I'll concede that the “main event” is outdated at best, but as long as the Miss America organization continues giving more scholarship money to women than anyone else, they are A+ in my book.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
How is the pageant just finding out? I read about it before her video was even uploaded.
Also, lol at the white knight being an asshole about this. Keep fucking that chicken.

Very disappointed in the video.

She just takes it, but you can see she isn't enjoying this at all. She isn't even trying to fake it.

Don't blame her. Every girlsdoporn scene is like that. Shit site.

I don't know if I should be proud or ashamed that I instantly knew it was Girls Do Porn by the photo of her sitting on the bed on page 1.

...You literally contradict the first sentence with the second sentence there.

Of course it's about sex. It's ALL about sex, showing these beautiful women that men want to have sex with. How could you possibly think it's anything but that?

I'm pretty sure way more women than men watch pageants. The sex appeal alone won't make a man sit down to watch a pageant.

This may come as a surprise to you, but sometimes women can like looking at attractive women too. They may not actively want to rip off their clothes and do them on the spot, but they can say "Yeah, she's sexy."

But on the whole, come on, the entire "Miss America" thing is for sexy women to get attention. No one POSSIBLY believes anyone actually cares about their political opinions.

I'm more offended by the comments you guys are making about her performance. It was here first time doing porn, anyone would be nervous.

My sister was in pageants every year from age 5-17, and my mom still judges pageants to this day. Pageants mean something different to almost everyone. If it was all about sex appeal, then the the whole thing would be done in swimwear. But no they have formal wear, talent, a production number etc. It's all part of the competition that makes up the pageant and swimwear is just one pillar. Why swimwear instead of casual wear? Well, some pageants do only formal and casual with swimwear omitted. The two main pageant systems that you've probably heard of, Miss America and Miss USA, both happen to include swimwear. Miss America has a talent portion while Miss USA does NOT which is just another example of differences between pageant systems. I didn't plan on being on the pageant defense force, but lets not make sweeping generalizations that pageants are about sex appeal for women and men alike. Some may choose to watch a pageant with swimwear for that purpose, but the main draw for most is the overall competitive aspect you would see in any other sport.

Wholesomeness isn't some magical thing that everyone should aspire to or even something objectively measurable or provable. That's a big part of the problem here.

I'm not saying that the outcome is surprising, just that it's sad that sex and shame go hand-in-hand in our society.
I don't think sex is the problem, in and of itself. She's not being shamed for losing her virginity. It's more of an image issue from working in the sex industry. As we've seen, the story quickly becomes, "Take a look at what Miss Teen Delaware has been up to" and that's not the kind of attention that either of them want from the pageant.

What is it that makes you think that plain and simple "sex" is anywhere near the same thing as having sex for money, on camera, for worldwide distribution?

Man, the interview in the porn video. This girl must have known it would turn out like this if this happened within four months of the pageant.

Come on man, beauty pageant is about sex appeal whether you like it or not. That is why only attractive-looking people can even hope to compete in there, and physical attractiveness plays a huge part in determining one's success when competing in them.

Why are they given a skill testing question then?
