That is fucking awesome.

Yeah i think im gonan get this one framed with the nintendogs illustration and put it up on my wall as one photo next to the reggie thing.. it was really a great experince if u gusy ever have an opporunity to do this id say do whatever you can to get there first and dont miss it.

I don't think he's ever been out to the LA area except for E3 though. And my chances of going to THAT have been greatly diminished ever since last year.

This kid had two Zelda tattoos. Hopefully I'll be able to put up pictures of them tonight. He was a serious fan.

The event was great. I even got to meet Reggie and annoy him for a good ten minutes.

I like this picture because it really captures my douchebagness.

Them signatures is pretty awesome indeed. If I went, other than getting Miyamoto's signature and shit, I'd have wanted to get a photo of Reggie's boot at my arse and then one of me handing him a sign in shame with my name on it.

edit:

Haha, seriously... you say he was not amused, but did he go ahead and sign it?

No. He refused.

Other people brought the following for him to sign:
- guitar (Miyamoto played a little Mario ditty quickly)
- brown leather belt (this lady was a BIT crazy)
- plush Mario and Yoshi
- Donkey Kong marquee or screen panel (something like 4 times)
- Starfox Assault strategy guide (insulting)
- flying Mario painting
- Powerglove

Everybody else brought DS's, Zelda carts, t-shirts or NES consoles. I just defaulted to my DS.

Was there a limit on things signed?

Most people just had one thing signed, but others pushed for more -- like the cop who showed Miyamoto his badge and requested an autograph for each of the four DS's he brought.

I really wish I could have gone, but I couldnt have gone until this morning and that would have been too late. Not only that, I had a double header in my fall ball league. I would have skipped it, but no one was willing to go with me. Le sigh :(

You know what let me tell you, it was not bad i went alone and really everyone just hung out as if we knew each other and talked games.. cool as hell

You guys are giving Miyamoto carpal tunnel syndrome! How is he going to give orders without a pointing finger? If Twilight Princess sucks I'll blame you!

Hardcore or not that picture is pretty funny. I'm about as scrawny as they come, so I'm not ragging on him because I'm some toned god among men, but what I originally thought was a bit of muscle actually appears to be his shoulder bone. I'll bet he has buff forearms though.

Hey, I remember seeing you there. It was a great time. Here are a couple of pics of the line:

You know, meeting, shaking hands with, and getting my DS (and OoT cartridge) signed by the savior of the industry was one of the best experiences I've ever had. But shortly following it would definitely have to be the community aspect experienced through the 16ish hours that I was there. While I got a DS at launch and it's been fun, I've never really felt that its existence was completely justified -- until last night. It was amazing having a plethora of games available for download and trial, a mass of people waiting to play and compete with you, and doing it all in the company of fun and laughter. Altogether it was an awesome experience.

Indeed, the line experience only added to the whole package. Great time all around, i reccomend anyoen who has the opportunity to do this to do it by any means necessary. I stil cant believe reggie was so cool, it was just like he was another guy on line hanging out.

I know what you mean. At E3 this year, it was prett crazy playing against people around the world on the DS. I got to play some weird japanese games that I've never seen before. Cool Stuff. Japanese people sure like to send tiny penises accross pictochat.

I can imagine there was a bit of this going around.

Man, I must meet the man before I (or more likely, he) die(s). What are the chances of meeting him at E3?

Formally meeting him, I dunno. But you could probably find him walking around the Nintendo booth during the last day of the show.

Sort of reminds me of trying to find a character in Zelda:MM or on a MMORPG. :lol

The greatest thing ever would be the 20th anniversary Famicro signed by Miyamoto. if i ever had one, I would go out and buy the NES Suoer Mario brothers Advanced, and sit down to play it, and cry.

Having my Nintendog play with Shiggydog would also be special. After all, it saves Miyamoto into your friends list!

So wanted to go but hearing that I'd have to wait in line all Sat night just wasn't my bag... ahhh well. Maybe next time he comes over here. Nice pics, looked like a good time.

Looks pretty neat. I certainly would have enjoyed meeting Miyamoto and Reggie. I never get to take part in these kinda things, though...

I guess he's still not up to Peter Moore's level. :P

What would have been 100x worse (and something I can't imagine ANYONE doing, as it's just too nasty) would have been to ask him for a signature on your PSP...running an NES emulator with Super Mario Bros. playing. You'd probably get arrested for that or something.

I'm sure it is considered really really really rude in Japanese culture, but that's one guy who was a jerk. I'm sure there are jerks in Japan too. I mean, tons of people slept outside on the streets just to meet him. I'm sure he was very humbled by this fact. I mean people love this guy, and I think he knows it and is very happy, and he certainly won't let one jack ass ruin his day.

i'd consider it rude in any culture. its like bringing another authors book to a book signing, or another bands cd to one of their signings.

I thought it was more rude that some kid brought a copy of the Starfox Assault strategy guide to be signed.

Also, the PSP bearing kid really sucked the air out of the room. There were some audible groans.
