They were the definition of mediocrity. Hell, the only team of their's I'd call great that I've seen since I've been alive was the 2003 season where they got stomped by the Marlins in the NLDS. The rest of the teams have ranged from bad to mediocre and occasionally good. All 4 teams they've had in the World Series the last 12 years have been mediocre overachievers that get hot at the right time.
The difference is, Bruce Bochy. The Giants Holy Lord and Savior.
Dude they should have won against Anaheim. That team had JT Snow, Rich Aurillia, Jeff Kent, and Barry Bonds at near the peak of his power. Dusty Baker was the worst manager of bullpens though. Mediocre? Hell no.
