This sucks, but...trying to stay positive. I mean...we made Game 7 of the World Series. We took the mighty Giants to the brink. Yes it's upsetting we didn't finish but we came damn close.

Some of my friends are really depressed but honestly our pain cannot be near the pain Cubs fans have had to endure. Or Indians fans. Mariners fans. I just wish some of my fellow Royals fans would be thankful for what we got this year.

You guys played great and kc fans were awesome, definitely hoping you guys win it all next year

Baseball is dead to me.

I don't even want to go into work tomorrow with all the bandwagon Giants fans who can name maybe three players...

As an A's fan (waiting since 1989) I really sympathize with Royals fans...

Meanwhile from my Facebook feed:

"Your lifetime"?? ARE YOU TWO YEARS OLD

88 wins, wouldn't even have made the postseason under the previous playoff structure, beating an 89 win team in 7 games, only winning 76 games the previous year... really setting a low bar for the "dynasty" label.

Such delicious salt.

I made an office bet that they'd take it even before they had the NLCS wrapped. (And thank God, MLB jerseys are expensive!)

Go Giants! My home away from home team! :)

Yeah, Buster had nothing left towards the end. Especially at the plate. I look forward to when he moves to first base tbh.

His pitch calling and framing ability are still a big factor in the pitching staff success though. He helps to get strike calls that a lesser catcher would not get. See the NLDS series with the Nats.

Oh right now he's still great, no doubt. But I'm confident they'll move him eventually.

so just checked the tv numbers and the last world series game had over 20 million viewers. No Super Bowl but still not bad numbers at all.

If Pablo leaves, I wouldn't be shocked if Bochy moved Belt over to third and tried to get Buster on 1st.

I think Pablo's leaving. With his performance in this postseason, his free agent contract is gonna be way toooo expensive, when there are bigger concerns to be addressed in the team. Like uhhh... the fact that the Giants have no starting pitching aside from Bumgarner. I mean, Peavy is the worst. Just the worst. They need to ditch him. Hudson is 39 and will rightfully retire. And Vogelsong is pretty shaky. Matt Cain is coming back and hopefully he'll regain his form, but who knows. The bullpen is really solid and the batting is... pretty good. They just need to add to their current one-man starting rotation.

I'm hoping Lincecum works with his dad again this offseason to figure out his mechanics to return to Cy Young form and, with Cain coming back from surgery, the big three can all be on top of their games. I'd be fine with Petit as the 5th starter, so that means just getting another regular in the rotation.

Agreed. He gone. Love him, and am in his debt for these last three titles, but he gone.

Peavy is a big part of why the Giants even made the playoffs.

I'm hoping so much for him to regain close to that form. It's second only to the Expos return to me in wishful thinking.

We can always start Strickland. Oops.
