Really.
Honestly I feel people are really going to have to like earn my respect again for me to take their IW criticisms seriously. It's getting crazy now.
Maybe not respect, but at least something cause the hyberbole between people thinking that IW is trash (without playing it) or saying it would have been DOA if not for MWR just have me shaking my head.
Yes, really.
I've played every single COD from the original to MW3. That was the game where I had enough. Every single game seemed to get worse. Talking about multiplayer only, as I don't really care about the campaign.
I don't play very many multiplayer games to begin with, don't have the time for them. But last gen I spent a ton of time with COD and Gears, especially the first Gears of War. Hated the second one.
Anyway, new gen brought new games. All my friends (out of habit really) got the new COD which at the time we all had consoles was Advanced Warfare. So I bought that turd of a game as well. I don't think I have ever enjoyed a multiplayer game less. Maybe I don't like the series anymore, maybe I'm too old, whatever.
My point is: if I want to play a fast paced multiplayer with wall running, I would buy the new Titanfall. That doesn't interest me either. I got to play some Ops III as well at my friends house (multiplayer only) and I disliked that as well. It's not a reach to say that IW to me is a game I won't enjoy. And it really isn't hard to make that determination by watching gameplay videos.
Don't sweat it, every year we see people talking about how that year's CoD will sell like shit because of "how bad it looks".
Then November comes around and it becomes the best selling game of the whole year, and will stay at the top spot for retail sales for months.
And there's the problem with gaming in a nutshell. Just sell some sequels and people will buy them no matter the quality. Herd mentality at its finest. I guess that's why we get almost no new IPs, and the ones we get sell poorly and are buried immediately.
