Jesus Christ are people really defending this now? Just because its smart and obvious for them doesnt make it right.
This is a good thing no? You can sell the disk and it still has MWR on it. Not a one time code use thing. To me that is great.
Hahahaha
What the fuck is the point of the code then, just tie it to the disc
People will laugh and be upset, but there is precedence for this. For example, the version of Dead Space Extraction HD that's included with the PS3 version of Dead Space 2 requires the Dead Space 2 disc to be in the console before it could be played.
Its no more anti-consumer than requiring the disk to play Infinite Warfare.Sure, they may see it as a "smart business decision", but it's anti-consumer as fuck.
Was always gonna happen decided to go digital a couple of months ago.
Will Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered come as a separate disc?
No, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is a full game digital download that will be included in the Legacy, Legacy Pro, and Digital Deluxe editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Internet connection required.
Can I play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered without buying Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare?
No, you must own Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in order to get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.
It's kinda crazy how worried they are that a remaster of an 8 year old game will cannibalize the sales of the latest sequel
And they are totally right to worry... Still a shitty thing to do.
Its no more anti-consumer than requiring the disk to play Infinite Warfare.
If you have no interest in IW just wait until they eventually sell the remaster as a standalone product.
Didnt they already hint at a seperate release later?
I don't beleive so I recall a quote saying they have no future plans for a standalone release, but obviously everyone ignores that.
Except that MW:R is a digital download that comes with the Legacy edition, but you need the IW disc to launch it."To play game you must have disc"
I thought this had been known for months, or at least was fairly obvious.
Its no more anti-consumer than requiring the disk to play Infinite Warfare.
If you have no interest in IW just wait until they eventually sell the remaster as a standalone product. Bonus: You'll save money that way too.
6 months later...
"Here at IW we take fan feedback seriously. As a gift to all of our fans worldwide we have decided to make MWR available as a standalone download for $60. "
Good guy Activision. lol
Crash Bandicoot Remasters gonna be only playable with the Knack 2 disc.
