That wasn't MHP3rdHD. That was just the regular PSP MHP3rd with dual analog controls that was confirmed months ago.Luigi87 said:I think there was like 7 seconds of footage of MHP3rdHD when they first started talking about VITA.

Wow, they're really hustling with Tri-G.
3G and Vita launch a week from each other. Nintendo is going to rub it in as hard as they can.Serenade said:Wow, they're really hustling with Tri-G.
I think those demo units are just for videos showcasing the 3D effect. The M.O.B said:No circle pad addon? smh

We really know close to nothing about 4.civilstrife said:Where do we stand on online for tri3G? Is it outright confirmed as not being online? If so, where does that leave monhun4?
Also europe, right? RIGHT? :/Eteric Rice said:It's possible. But I get the feeling Nintendo may have locked this down, simply by promising to push it big time in the USA.

for quick shooting you just move around with a charged attack (holding triangle) and let go, but sometimes you need to aim higher or do other ajustments depending on shot type, or aim the the body/head/leg - for that you use the D-pad while holding R and Triangle.Gamer @ Heart said:Can you move and shoot in the old games? I never used ranged so i dont remember. If so, cant you just hold a button down and use the circle pad?
In this, you could probably use that new monster cam lockon and look straight at it, then use up/down to adjust the angle.Highlaw said:for quick shooting you just move around with a charged attack (holding triangle) and let go, but sometimes you need to aim higher or do other ajustments depending on shot type, or aim the the body/head/leg - for that you use the D-pad while holding R and Triangle.

The first part isn't the problem, you use both nub and d-pad to move and look at the monster (or click L) just like any other weapon, but then I don't see how you can hold X, R and aim with the D-pad in a quick and efficient manner. Only if you let go of the nub, use the d-pad, and nub again with your left thumb (ingoring the digital d-pad completely) - I always used the claw but this can work, you lose mobility thoughColtraineGF said:In this, you could probably use that new monster cam lockon and look straight at it, then use up/down to adjust the angle.
Kuran said:ITT: Did you guys ever play a Monhun game?
I played a demo. I thought the controls sucked on the PSP but yeah I probably just could not adapt to it.Kuran said:ITT: Did you guys ever play a Monhun game?
The basic movement/attacking controls are a little odd, but not excessively hard to work with - Maybe an hour or two.Crewnh said:I played a demo. I thought the controls sucked on the PSP but yeah I probably just could not adapt to it.

So far Capcom says they have no plans for Monster Hunter Tri G in the West, and given that they never localized Monster Hunter 3 or Ace Attorney Investigations 2, I honestly have no reason to not believe them.Eteric Rice said:It's possible. For your second question, no, there are no plans to bring it to the West for now.

I believe the first Girl's Mode was very successful in Europe, so I'm quite sure that one will be localized.Nirolak said:Nintendo seems to be following suit. NoE put out a release list that includes the just announced Mario Tennis, but lacks Fire Emblem, Girl's Mode, or Friend Collection.
Orayn said:@Nirolak: I really, really hope that's a generic comment similar to what Atlus said about Catherine. I can see them skipping Tri-G, but MH4 would be passing up a pretty big opportunity to capitalize on the slide pad dongle getting localized...
Nuclear Muffin said:Edit: WOW! No Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Vita was announced?!?!?! Of all the games to be wrong in that rumour list...
Capcom wasn't happy with Monster Hunter Tri's sales in the West.ShockingAlberto said:I personally don't believe that Capcom would have thrown so much MH weight behind Nintendo if there were no intentions to bring it to America after Tri did well.
Source: http://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/news/html/e100729b.htmlCapcom said:a. In this business segment, "Super Street Fighter IV" (for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) and the online exclusive title "Monster Hunter Frontier Online" (for PC, Xbox 360) showed steady growth. However, overall sales remained stagnant due to weak performances of some titles: "Lost Planet 2" (for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360), one of our featured products, underperformed its projection substantially; "Monster Hunter Tri" (for Wii) grew at sluggish pace; newly-released "Ghost Trick" (for Nintendo DS) struggled.
Did they even need to? The dual analog stick attachment seems to be the way they're addressing Capcom's needs.Erethian said:The quote also comes from a Community Manager in a thread on the day the game leaked in Famitsu.
And localising, or helping to localise, series like DQ or MH isn't necessarily about them making a solid business case in the West. It's as much about helping to promote them in other markets as a means of securing exclusivity of those titles in Japan.
Oh shit, that is a real possibility, isn't it? Isn't that what they did with Tri in Australia? (Or at least a co-publishing of some kind?)EatChildren said:If Capcom dont intend to bring the series over to the English world, hopefully Nintendo do the publishing themselves.
