Monster Hunter Frontier G Trailer (Wii U/PS3)

The trailer is awesome! I wish PSO2 and this would get a release date in NA for the WiiU. I just wish for any good MMO to come out on this system. The gamepad would be perfect for that type of game!

Talking of PSO2, is it getting any new information for the PSVita release in NA?

I honestly have no idea how Capcom has the gall to be punting out the terrible Frontier G onto WiiU and PS3 with Tencent's Monster Hunter Online coming out and finally breaking the shackles of the series PS2 legacy:

Raviente (giant snake like monster with tusks) is the only interesting thing to come out of Monster Hunter Frontier.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Raviente is the most boring fight in the history of MH, there is absolute, positively, not a single thing interesting or fun about fighting him. There are a ton of good monsters in Frontier. Personally, I'd say Rukodiora and Taiken Zamuza are the two best.

I only got into the series with 3U but I heard Frontier had really bad hitboxes and shit that ultimately got fixed with Tri/3U, am I right?

Would be boring to get a game that would seem "broken" compared to what I am playing now.

The game is based of Dos shell. The game is also about ten million times harder and eighty billion times more grindy. The hitbox problem is such a minor issue I can't believe people bring it up as a real problem.

Monster Hunter Tri did that years ago already. Anyway whilst MHO looks good in screens, it looks like steaming shite in motion.

I'll keep playing MH3U thankyouverymuch.

MHO sure kept the shitty animation from the PS2 era that Tri finally tried to fix.

Okay, I know the franchise doesn't have the biggest budget but how does this barely look better then the 3DS game?

Game is based on MH Dos which was on PS2.

I peg Wii as like a PS2+Shaders, so no.

And I don't know what MHO footage your eyes wandered across, but it looks pretty much like the exact MonHun Dos era gameplay, polished up a bit. Which takes it comfortably past Frontier G!

I still have hope we'll see a monster hunter on Vita eventually. But it won't be anytime soon :(

Biggest shame this generation, Capcom making all the wrong decisions and MH not being on Vita. The system was basically designed with MH in mind if you ask me. It would be a perfect match.

I worry that the Chinese licensed version will never see the light of day in the EU/US because Capcom wants to avoid an embarrassment.

:/

Capcom pls.

What do you mean?

Sony are goddamned idiots for not even entertaining the idea that it would have been a good idea to try to lock the series down. Nintendo wasn't going to be using DS-level hardware forever, and they already worked something out between them and Squenix for Dragon Quest. All Nintendo did was take advantage of an opportunity that Sony created for being short-sighted.

Why would they be worried? It's not like there's any hope of Frontier coming to the west anytime soon.

The Frontier is absolutely not designed for a Western audience. GAF has all these thoughts about it that have nothing to do with reality. It's not terrible, it's just a completely different game than the Western version and Western audiences would not find it palatable at all. The game is also like 10 years old now, so complaining about the graphics and calling them PS2 graphics is funny...because THEY ARE PS2 graphics lol! This is based off a PS2 game's engine!

There is a lot that's good about the game, but it's hidden behind stuff people will never, ever, ever ever ever put up with here.

Your shitty "definition" of the Wii is irrelevant. MH3 shares almost no assets with it's PS2 predecessors and is a clear step up in graphics that the PS2 could not have pulled off (even if not as big as we'd have all liked), therefore was an unambiguous step away from it's "PS2 legacy". Next time don't troll post and keep your moving goalposts to yourself.

Huh? MHO looks fine in the trailer and screens. I think the steaming shite you're thinking of is MH4 :P

The animations in MHO are a huge step back for the series. There miles behind what Tri did. MHO is the very definition of the uncanny valley. That level of realism in the lighting and texture work simply does not gel with the dreamcast level animations.

I don't think MHFO looks good and I'm disappointed by MH4 too (Definitely a step down from MH3U on the same damn platform) but MHO isn't the HD saviour you guys are trying to paint it as. It's just as disappointing as the rest of the "HD" games.
