incredibles sequel please.

monsters inc...i liked it, it wasn't bad, but i guess i'm not that stoked for revisiting the universe i guess?

i never saw cars. thats the only pixar movie i havent gotten around to seeing. and i've known they've been making a sequel for a while...i should get on that.

good to know they pulled newt to fix it. makes me glad pixar values quality over the release schedule.

and........oh yes, once again: incredibles sequel PLEASE. man i love that movie.

they renamed "bear & the bow" because Disney thinks nobody wants to watch fairy tales anymore since Princess and the frog "flopped". Same reason Rapunzel was renamed to "Unbraided" and Snow Queen and King of Elves were cancelled. Such BS

When are studios gonna realize that it's not the type of movie? People don't want to watch shitty movies, not particular genres.

I scratch my head at why they are making a cars sequel.

I am also under no illusion that it won't make hundreds of millions.
Believe it or not Cars merchandising still sells.

You scratch your head despite answering your own conundrum in the same post?

BTW I am opposed to a Cars sequel being made if only because no one should be giving Larry the Cable Guy work.

All that can happen is a collection of posts that belittle and trash my opinion, but I'm all too familiar with that. :D

I love PIXAR and I enjoy most of their films, but lately I've gotten used to excellent openings and even middles, with extremely lackluster ends.

Ratatouille had an excellent final act.

I always thought that Disney has been too focused on old classic fairy tales. I may be wrong (probably) but I don't think many parents even read old tales such as "Emperor's Nightingale" or "Rapunzel", in the U.S. at least. I remember being read "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" or "Where the Wild Things Are" or even "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". Kids need something more relevant or recent.

Would be nice if they made features of modern fairy tales, such as "Legend of Zelda" or "Ico" or "The Hobbit". Black Cauldron didn't work out so well, but "How to Train a Dragon" is doing gangbusters. Then again, imagining Link singing a ballad in an Ocarina of time movie might make me cringe :(

Hey, what's going on with Cars 2? Thought this movie was announced a while ago.

Don't really want a sequel to Monsters Inc, despite it being in my top tier of Pixar films. I thought it ended fine, but I suppose I'll wait to see what they plan on doing for the story. I could see them doing a teenage Boo, which isn't really something I'd want to see. newt wasn't one I was really crazy for from the synopsis, so I don't mind its delay, hopefully this will make it a better movie in the end. As for The Bear and the Bow, I am looking forward to this one, but what is up with the naming changes for Disney movies of late?
Rapunzel -- Tangled awful
The Bear and the Bow -- Brave not awful, but I still don't like it all that much
Edit: Wait it's unbraided now? I thought it was Tangled. Either way it's a shitty name change.

It's coming next year. Cars merchandising alone probably has made more money than the rest combined. :lol

STOP WITH THE SEQUELS.

Oh, and count me in the "didn't like Nemo" crowd. Probably tied with Cars as my least-favorite Pixar movie.

Pixar goes back to making sequels after a decade hiatus of mind blowing original titles and you want them to stop?

Well wouldn't you prefer them sticking to making some mind blowing original titles?

I still can't believe Incredibles hasn't had a sequel. Unlike Monster's Inc or Cars, it's not only an instant classic, but also has an ending that sets it up PERFECTLY for a sequel!

Uh all three set themselves up for a sequel (well actually to be honest I don't remember much of Cars).

And Incredibles may be the best of the three, but Monster's Inc had the best ending. I just straight up :D at the ending.

I would prefer less of the sequels, but this is good news regardless of that personal preference. Toy Story 2 was awesome, and Pixar are yet to make a bad film - even their worst efforts are merely 'very good', rather than 'cinematic excellence'.

Considering just about all of their movies have stories good enough worth continuing, a well made sequel would be grand.

Much better than simply ignoring it and going into something new again.

Cars and Bug's Life are the only Pixar movies I don't love, and Cars is decent for what it's trying to do. Bug's Life IMO is pretty bad and Pixar only got away with it because it was technically groundbreaking.

It's awesome that they're getting sequels. Surely, the Lion King should get another sequel.

It got one, although straight for home video. It was very good. It's an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, just like the first one was Hamlet.

The writers just couldnt find a way to get beneath the Underminer, because nothing is beneath him.

Where the fuck is my Incredibles Blu-ray and sequel?

I absolutely love Pixar, but if any of their films is open for a sequel, it's the Incredibles. Less of Cars please.

Kinda weird to see that Pixar will be releasing more than one film a year over the next 2 years, but considering that they haven't made one bad movie yet, it's not necessarily a bad thing. Still waiting for an Incredibles 2 announcement. Hell, even an Incredibles blu-ray announcement would be enough for me right now.

I loved Monsters, Inc. so much, that it's getting a sequel is great news. It's probably my second favorite Pixar movie, actually (topically, right behind Finding Nemo).

You know, they been going 1 a year. Prior to one every 1 1/2-2 years, prior to one every 2-3years.

It's only natural progression. I wouldn't worry about quality too much either. What I would note is how big the budgets have become and the competition. It feels similar to why Disney stopped. The budgets ended up ballooning too much.

They probably won't do The Incredibles 2 now, because it's too obvious.

The last decade has been inundated with superhero movies. Pixar does what the rest don't.

Pixar Canada is now open and will help with releasing 2 movies a year starting in 2012

I don't know what to think of this.

More Pixar = awesome

Opening another shop for production = taking the love and care out of the krabby patty formula

What exactly do they do up there? Is it like the tech lab where they build all the new tools and shit? I cant imagine they would split the director away from his key people and animators.

Pixar Canada will make animated shorts based on Pixar's films (ex. Cars Toons Shorts, and the rumored Toy Story Shorts)

Monsters Inc. is amongst my favorite Pixars and more of the repartee between Crystal and Goodman can't hurt... but I can't really see how a sequel would work. The original was just so perfectly self-contained. Still, I have enough faith in Pixar to rest assured that they wouldn't go forward on this if they didn't have a good story in place.

Newt sounded promising, pity it's having problems. Still, so was Ratatouille and that turned out fine.

How To Train Your Dragon was first-rate Dreamworks, but would have been third-rate Pixar. About on par with Cars (which I enjoyed, but is at the bottom of my Pixar-list). It's enjoyable and inoffensive (and isn't filled with stupid-ass wink-wink-nudge-nudge pop culture references like Shrek), but the humor was a little tepid, most of the characters flat and it was entirely too predictable. At least Pixar's films manage to surprise me every now and again.

Incredibles has SOOOO much more potential for a sequel. Why aren't they doing one? COME ON!

Although, when I rewatched the Blu-Ray, I did get a bit sad at the end of Monster's Inc and wanted more. So Iunno.
