More important to you, Portability or Graphics?

Graphics by default since portability is a complete nonissue to me. Also, what the poster above me said; I don't care for smallscreen gaming. I realized that like ten years ago and never really looked back. I played a few 3DS and Vita games, but that was always a drawback for me when I did.

don't care about portable gaming honestly, but i also dont particularly care about graphics, which is why i dont own a pro and or a XB1X or a PC

.

I would sooner forego playing games for a few hours than consider lugging a system around with me. (Plane flights are maybe the only exception)
for long flights I use my laptop, for short flights I use my vita but only play things like Persona 4 Dancing all night. even now that I own a switch I'm not sure I would bother with it on short flights over the vita.

Graphics. For me portable gaming is only for killing my time when i'm not near my fancy PC, big TV and 5.1 speakers.

If the option is between the gimped version and the non-gimped version of a game then I'll opt for the latter 99% of the time. So I guess that puts me in the graphics camp.

It honestly kinda bugs me when I see a video or trailer for a game that looks cool on Switch only for it to end with the usual message that it's available on every platform under the sun. It just turns into: "why buy version x, y, z when you can get the objectively superior pc version?"

This is just an issue with me though, with every multiplat boiling down to that same question every damn time.
This is exactly me now. I wish they were exclusives.

Portability, I'm a handheld person over all. That said, I do appreciate a graphical showcase every now and then, and some games I definitely prefer on a TV (almost all my Splatoon 2 playtime is on the TV). Just depends on the game, but handhelds are typically my favorite platforms

Portability, or rather, flexibility. Seamless, fully-fledged FIFA on the go is something I've dreamed of since I was a kid. I'm so hyped.

This right here. I'm kidding no one that I will be able to game on my big screen. But if I can put 2 hours commuting on the train or sitting in my car for 40 minutes after dropping off my kid while he is doing cub scouts, that's flexibility

I HATED playing on a DS/3DS system. Shitty graphics and shitty screen quality and screen size. The Switch is miles better, but it's still small compared to my big screen TV. So as far as experience goes, I get a MUCH better one sitting on the couch on the TV.

This means when it comes to games I'll almost certainly buy it on my PC (I have a PS4 but I don't use that now I have a PC connected to my TV) because it will look better and run smoother.

Now, I would like to have the option of having all my games playable on the Switch for the rare times I play off TV (Maybe once every week or 2 and the game I'm playing has to be really good for me to even bother) but the generally better experience on PC trumps that.

It's all moot anyway because fuck all games that come to PC are on Switch anyway, well, fuck all "AAA" big guns - and the great games on Switch are exclusive so you have no choice.

It's price and graphics for me. Portability isn't something I consider all that much, though it's definitely nice playing games in bed on the Switch.

Between those two, graphics. I mainly game on PC(and soon XBOX) since I want the best version of games... I've had the major portables of the past but as I've gotten older, the lower the chance is that I'll be taking a portable outside the house, and while I'm at home I may as well play on systems that provide the highest quality experience.

Personally, I care more about the graphics than its portability, however... portability is respected by me because it's nice to see gamers out there as I am traversing my everyday life. Makes me feel happy and at peace, somehow lol.

Graphics all day. Portability means essentially nothing to me since I don't really go out much, and when I do it's for work or to hang out with people, not game. My Switch is only ever portable when I'm taking a crap.

Portability.

As long as the performance of the game is acceptable (i.e. stable frame rate) I don't really care about visual fidelity. I think arguing over pixel counts and 900p vs 1080p or whatever is incredibly juvenile and stupid.

Like honestly, it's completely ridiculous. What was perfectly acceptable and cutting edge only 5 years ago becomes unacceptable now. It's stupid.

As long as the game isn't completely borked, I'll always opt for portability. It's way too useful and way too convenient for me to pass up over something that is so irrelevant by comparison. Being able to take a game with me is literally a game changer.

Portability wins out for me but its less about portability and more about accessibility. I can get in a game on my Switch in less than 2 seconds. On my PS4 I have to turn on the TV and the Console and it just takes forever to get into a game. I do take my Switch out alot but just having it by my side wherever I am in the house wins it for me.

Definitely graphics. Portability is of absolutely no importance to me. I don't play video games when I'm out and about on business, or on vacation or what have you.

Graphics, don't care about portability at all. I only play my handhelds in the house and I would rather they be on consoles.

After owning a Switch for a while, portability. It's a seemingly small thing to be able to conveniently play a game in bed, but it's a huge game changer for how often I play games nowadays. My Switch gets a lot of my gaming time now.

There is absolutely nothing appealing to me about portable gaming as it exists today, so that's an easy choice to make.

I can't say I care too much about either, but I'd privilege graphics over portability. But with the Switch in particular, I don't even find it particularly portable (I am definitely never taking that on a crowded streetcar or bus, that's for sure), so for the most part it's just a worse port of a PS4/XB1/PC game.

I play nearly all handhelds at home for fear of losing them somewhere outside, lol.

Portability has its occasional uses, but I'm going with graphics on this one.

The only portable game I ever enjoyed was Pokémon Blue. Never really cared about any other portable games and I don't play games outside house.

Meanwhile I bought Xbox because of how amazing Ninja Gaiden looked and bought Dreamcast because of how good Sonic Adventure looked at that time.

Entertained the idea of buying a Switch but I am not into portables and not really into Nintendo exclusives anymore.

Looking forward to Xbox one x and Assasins Creed origins

I didn't used to care so I would've said graphics, but now that I'm without a tv, portability is so nice.

the Switch is just perfect for me.

Have to wonder if people that say "I don't play games outside" have ever played on a portable.

I like portables, played them outside my house maybe 2% of the time.

It's about the comfort, the convenience. Pick up and play, pause when you want to. Booting up any other console is more of a time sink. You have to sit down and dedicate time to it. Something like Splatoon I can play 30 minutes a day for weeks or dedicate several hours in a single day thanks to it.

Graphics, I play 100% at home on the TV, and IF Nintendo and its third party had sold me on the Switch so I bought one, it would be superglued to the dock.

Between the two, portability.

I'm much more often struck by the desire put on a movie while grinding through some trivial shit than the need to have better graphics.

Portability. I play way more of the game if it is portable.

It should be a factor in review and affect the score just like graphics and sound.

Also graphics can be designed to work beautifully to your eyes so no need to be graphic powerhouse. Many 16 bit games still look amazing today. But for portability, you can't work around that.

Switch is the first handheld I have seen as anything other than a toy. Not a slight on all the great handhelds out there, I just don't enjoy handheld gaming as much.
