Mortal Kombat 8 REVEALED IN ALL ITS GLOR...wait, what is this?

Im scared.

I cant believe i cant wait to see the mk game, i didnt even care but now that its close im thinking what if its good? Ill look like a dick in front of my brother, hes been asking me and is hyped about 6 months for this game and everytime i laughed at him :lol
 
Honestly the only thing that excites me about this game is the fact that it's Unreal Engine 3 being used for a fighting game. I mean it beats another generic shooter, right?. I'm curious to see how it turns out.

This isn't to say I might not check it out anyway, I love fighting games but I haven't dug MK since III. MK4? was it? On 64. That was kind of entertaining at the time, but then again I didn't own it, maybe it was just the "nothing taste better than a free meal" effect taking hold. :lol

According to that old rumor it was just an example to describe how it played (nearly free roaming fighter, you could use stuff in the area to block attacks,, fight in the air, throw spears/ice/etc across any direction, etc..)

Who knows..at least there seems to be a picture in a few hours..videos probably more later..after the conference, there was an interview..and a few got to play the game for up to 4 hours...(still playing it it seems)..
 
They need to stop trying to compete with Virtua Fighter, Tekken and Soul Calibur and just rip-off Powerstone. They already have the framework with Shaolin Monks.

They never did try to compete with any of those as the MK style has always been totally different. If anything, soul calibur adventure or whatever on wii was kinda taking the whole 'fighting game into adventure game' like mk had done with shaolin monks. And now SC4 will be having finishing moves too ...

Well, these were their words when they rebooted the series with Deadly Alliance. The series is definitely less arcadey than the previous iterations. And I don't think that is necessarily a good thing.

edit: And there is no way that SC4 will have MK style finishing moves.

Fatality's will probably a HUGE jump over the last game, but won't be anywhere near where they should be. I don't see arms or hearts ripped off/out.

Yeah..
Seeing Superman impaled with a kryptonite (sp? :p ) sword..is still "in the bounds" of DC..not that violent.. :p

This game really needs to have fatality's that go against the different people. Someone using Fire against SubZero..Kryptonite against Superman.
