I generally don't like animated avatars. I just find them too distracting while reading. Have those things going off out the corner of my eye.. so irritating!

Extra points of annoyance for:
- flashing
- choppy animation/loops
- artifacted/skewed
- takes over 5 seconds to get through
- ugliness

The killzone eye avatars had horrible execution. Its either the entire mask or nothing at all. Cutting the eyes up made no sense.

Personally, I can't stand anyone with a new release themed avatar. It totally nulls and voids their opinion on whatever that new release happens to be (there are exceptions, like the really clever Madworld ones).

Anime ones are also not great. They don't actively annoy me, its just that they're so predictable. I like associating different personalities to avatars, and anime avatars are shitttttttttttttty in that regard. So yeah, keep using your anime avatars, by all means, but don't expect me to remember you. =p
