The Marathon Man (1976) dental torture.

Everyone should watch the movie, I didn't like the ending though.
Spoiler Ending:
Him using the remote and rewind time kind of ruin the story for me.

I only saw the shot by shot (I think?) remake he did 10 years later (which was pretty good), but yes, that was a very frustrating part (but I get it).

The scene in Payback with Mel Gibson where he's tied to a chair and a guy smashes each of his toes with a hammer. Nasty shit.

The film that effected me the most torture-wise though was probably
Brazil

You don't see it but
essentially the last twenty or so minutes, during which you think he's been rescued, is just his imagination as he's tortured into insanity. It's just unbearably sad and crushing, I've hated bad endings in movies ever since

Yeah, not graphic persay but some thought and it's the worst thing ever. Ugh.

I don't watch a ton Of violent movies, but anytime a fingernail is ripped out I have to cover my eyes.

I'm looking at you, Supernatural.

Stir of Echoes always made me shudder uncomfortable when the rape scene popped up.

I regret reading the MGSV spoilers but i have to ask. Is that stuff done in good taste or is it just for shock value?

It's not nearly as abrasive as reading it in list form. The whole thing is done is a well executed manner, with a few notes probably being overlooked by players who aren't paying attention.

I could pick just about any of the torture-murders depicted in In a Glass Cage, but the one that managed to burrow deep into my skin is the one that involves the choir boy. It's not a movie that's excessively violent by any means, but the fact that they have an adult actor so menacingly caressing an underage youth on camera is horrific enough in of itself, but it's also a fairly lengthy scene on top of that, which leaves so little to the imagination that you have to wonder how it wasn't brought up on child pornography charges. The climatic throat slitting is practically a godsend with how unnerving everything that came before it was.

Jack Bauer torturing
the guy who killed Renee
was absolutely brutal. I'm shocked it made network TV.

Hannibal: lol

The last episode of Hannibal had someone
sown into a horse carcass alive
as a lesson in empathy.

Really, you could have just said pretty much this whole season so far. There was
the guy who got sewn into a giant mural of dead bodies, only he wasn't dead so he had to tear himself off. Cutting off Gideon's leg, then feeding it to him. She wasn't conscious for it, but what he did to Beverly was pretty fucked up, I'm not even sure how to explain it. Then what the insane hospital worker did to him for Will. This was last season, but he fucking hypnotized Will and put a tube down his throat to force feed him someone's ear! Let's also not forget how fucked up the whole possibly feeding human meat to his friends thing is.
It's all very horrific, but really beautiful... I know that sounds weird, but if you watch the show you'll understand.

Movie gore and torture used to bother me, until I read up on real torture like impalement and the boats. Nothing in movies comes close to that shit. Though the scene in Looper is actually really unsettling and got a rise in me I hadn't felt in years. Very well done. Matyrs is also kinda disturbing.

Blood Eagle from Vikings

The blood eagle was a method of execution by torture. It was performed by cutting the ribs of the victim by the spine, breaking the ribs so they resembled blood-stained wings, and pulling the lungs out through the wounds in the victim's back and putting them on their shoulders.

Was just about to post this. This shit was used for real, and the show shot it so well.

Are we sure the
second bomb in Paz was a snuke?

I don't think that was ever confirmed.

Michonne's torture of the Governor in the comics, I was shocked for more than a day by that one. Damn, it was insane.

Also, while I laughed at Bond's quips, I seriously did cringe at the Casino Royale scene like some other guys. Just the thought of the rope...

Jack Bauer's many interrogations get pretty crazy too, I would say one of my favourites was his S2 psychological torture of a terrorist who assisted with a nuke. He
faked having another country's agents killing the guy's kids but made it look so real. The actor who played him really sold the agony of a father well.

I really regret going into this thread and searching google for things like this.

Saw the silent hill monster skin a women and then some women get her teeth drilled out, have her stomac cut open, and then choked by her intestine that fell out.

I hate gaf :( right before I go to sleep too

Another 24 scene, it is also in season 2:
Jack Bauer gets tortured by the men who work for the bloke who wants there to be a war. He is cut with scalpel blades coated in acid(?) and burnt with soldering irons.

Shit was nasty.

A lot of stuff has been posted already so I'm going to mention The Girl Next Door.
These two girls get sent to live with their crazy ass aunt and things go from bad to worse. They literally get medieval with a blow torch on the oldest girl. A really hard watch.

Some australian ones
The loved ones
Wolf creek
French
Inside
Frontiers
martyrs (of course)
Serbian
A serbian film (this is one of the few movies i´m not gonna see ever again)
japanese
audition
The guinea pig films

the world seems to be full of pretty fucked-up minds

Its all audio files.

People are blowing it all massively out of proportion. Its not even that grim due to Skullface's terrible voice acting.

Its pretty messed up.

Even more considering its kind of un earned out of nowhere, and no kojima has to earn that with phantom pain.

Anything can happen in Guantanamo. Nothing has to be "earned".

Yes yes it can.

handling a subject like rape poorly can ruin series, so yes,
It has to be earned. He now has to not only explain his self, his intentions and why the universe of MGS got so dark all of sudden( or at least way darker than it was., espically after mgs 4 a game all things considered that was actually pretty effing silly. It had you fighting your borthers ghost possessing on of your clone dad's stans on the top of a thing while at any moment he could grapple you and kiss you) . He must now explain skull face, if he fails at that, well he Kickassed- SAO'ed, however you wanna name it.

Earned, you can't just throw rape and a thing and yell, " now it has tension " that can fuck your whole operation if you do that poorly.
