After they turn themselves to stone.. ;_;

omg yes, i just finished playing that too...I also think of On That Day 5 Years Ago - FFVII

Chrono Trigger - Chrono & Marle - Far Off Promise

The end part is definitely the saddest shit in gaming soundtracks ever.

Is this the song that plays when you are fighting dracula at the beginning in symphony of the night? It's also the final battle song of circle of the moon and dawn of sorrow.

It's the song that plays during the prolog after the Richter Dracula fight in the beginning of the game.

I would say "The Oath" in Final fantasy VIII. I must have been such an emo kid way back then, but some of those final fantasy songs really got me!

Oh, and some Chrono cross songs were particularly stirring. Not sad, but very stirring.

The "Song of Healing" also known as the clock tower song from Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask pulls on me everytime I hear it. I dont know, it just sounds deep.

probably some of Jeremy Soules stuff.

some of the guild wars songs are just so insanely awesome... and sad...

his theme for morrowind is pretty damn good too

I can recall some songs..
One from Secret of Mana, in the beginning when the main character is banned from the village (Poto Village??)

Shenmue has several emotional songs, "in the garden" is probably the best of them..

Also, in Kotor1, when you fight against
Bastila
, just when you walk towards
her
... that one was nice..

and also, Jade empire has some nice tunes as well...

my 2 centss

Can anyone recommend any good remixes at oc remix? Just not the overly techno ones.

Chrono Trigger - The Incredible Singing Robot
Street Fighter 2 - The Ken Song
Chrono Trigger - Team Gato

Room of Angel from Silent Hill 4 is the most depressing thing I've ever heard. But I love it because it just sets the mood so perfectly. The trailer with the song playing is the best.

The Ring: Terror's Realm for Dreamcast.
You'll lose faith in humanity after hearing that 10 second tune that plays over and over.

"Hepatica" in particular. Holy hell what a beautiful but depressing track.

I really liked Hepatica #3 and I agree, it is depressing in a few parts. Especially
when it's playing as Jin is dying and when you see KOS-MOS' remains.
That's one of my favorite songs from that game.

People already mentioned Majora´s Mask song, but I just had to do it again. Still, very beautifull imo.

From Chrono Trigger there´s 2 of them: When your party dies( I´ve had my party killed many times just to hear it) and Balthasar´s Song (the guy that built the ship).
Both very sad, but beautiful songs.

Yup. I thought of Chrono Trigger's Balthazar's theme as well. I load up a saved game every now and then just outside his abode in the future just for this tune.

Also Final Fantasy VI, Cyan's theme holds sway over me, such a heroic, sad tune considering what he went through.

There was some really emotional music in... Outlaws, the PC shooter from LucasArts.

It had an excellent faux-Morricone score that sadly went unnoticed when the game was archaic.

Auron's Theme

"This...is your world now."

NOOOOOO!! DON'T YOU LEAVE!! DON'T YOU DO IT, AURON!! NOOOOOOOO, NOT YOU!!! DON'T GO!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T SEE THIS COMING!!!!!!

*bew-dewdew....[piano]...bewdew-dew....[bass]....bew-dewdew....[piano]...bewdew-dew....[bass]*

*tears*

Madara 2(SFC) ~ Burning down of the Elven Village. That cave that dripped water and destruction of some towns as well.

I think I'm one of the few people that found the opera scene of FFVI to be pretty boring, and FFVI was my favorite Final Fantasy.

I'm working my way through the Final Fantasies again starting with FF1 and I'm looking forward to making it to FFVI again (the SNES Final Fantasies were awesome).

Coin Song in FFVI - when the two Figaro brothers flip a coin. The winner will become king with their father dying, whilst the loser will eventually impose a self-exile onto himself and leave the kingdom.

Always gets to me.

Like someone else said "Room of Angel" in SH4 is very depressing.

A lot of the Silent Hill 2 songs are also quite depressing

Specially when later you discover that Sabin actually launched a coin with the same face in both sides, simply because he thought that Edgard would be a better king
