I've seen a lot of disappointing movies but this one is quite high if not the highest one on the list

Haha I went to see his with my cousin and he spent the entire movie making fun of it. Amazingly bad.

The most terrible film I've seen recently has to be The Pact. That film was rubbish, and I'm happy I didn't pay cash to see it (rather I use a card that allows me to watch unlimited films at the cinema).

Wait, everyone forgot about the damn fridge and the Chrystal Skull featuring LaBoef... oh, and some guy from Star Wars.

That, and the entire prologue SW trilogy, even though it gave us: "Don't do it Anakin!" (usable in any context) and "nooooooooooooooooooooo" (for dramatic purposes).

But I wasn't exited about those. But Indy... *shaking head slowly*

Lots of good picks listed already, for me it's:

Leon: The Professional
Blade Runner
Prometheus
Spider-Man 3
Heat
Star Wars Episode 1
Indiana Jones Kingdom of the Crustal Skull
No Country for Old Men

Don't get me wrong, some of the movies on the list are decent movies, but had so much hype behind them that they completely failed to deliver to my expectations.

Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War
The first war movie where I said, "Oh, shut up! Stop whining! It's not that bad!" Korean movies have their share of melodrama, but this was something else. I almost felt bad thinking the should suck it up, but then the the last scene with the two brothers happened. Talk about the loaf of bread that sealed the shit sandwich. "Look, ma! I'm acting!"

Holy crap, brah. I tried watching this on Wednesday and it killed my foreign film binge I had going on. I like Korean movies a lot but I wasn't in the mood for melodrama and I didn't make it very far into it. I had just watched Fulltime Killer and Mongol (though that is actually a Russian production) and this fucking movie killed my marathon :(. I was gonna watch the Elite Squads and Time & Tide!!!

Man my friends and I were so excited about the concept and it was such a stupid stupid movie.

After this one I gave up all hope on the Star Wars series so when the rest sucked I knew better than to be disappointed

9.

I was super down in the dumps one summer because I'd basically been sitting around the house doing nothing. My friend was like "hey, me and some coworkers are gonna go watch "9" tonight, want to go?" So, we watched the trailer, and it looked frickin' awesome. It hit a lot of my interests (post-apocalyptic, being super small in a normal sized world, semi-claymation art style), so I was stoked for it.

We watch the movie, can't see a majority of it because someone apparently went into the options menu and set gamma to almost zero. And the plot was... I don't even remember. It was dull, and confusing, and not at all what the trailer led me to believe.

Matrix sequels. I don't think they are quite as bad as everyone says, but the first film will always be remembered as a great sci fi and action movie, but the sequels just seemed to depart so far from what made the original great.

Avatar was pretty disappointing. Just a CG Dances with Wolves without the charm.

I'd follow up with Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.

Biggest disappointments I've ever seen at the cinema:

Spiderman 3

Robin Hood
(2010)
Outside of the opening 20 minutes there is nothing worth remembering. I can't believe Ridley Scott went from Kingdom of Heaven to this.

Inception

I went in expecting something of the same quality as The Prestige. What I got was mostly unimaginative and uninteresting. Hard to believe that this movie is held in such high regard.

Bah, you people are crazy, Matrix Reloaded is great. As good as the first? No... but it's still fantastic. :(

For me, personally, it's Burn after Reading. I know that some really like this movie, but I absolutely don't. It just wasn't a movie for me.

Correct, it's not as good as the first: it's better.

I love your audacity. I'll meet you partway. Matrix is a better stand-alone movie, but Reloaded has more than enough philosophical punch to make it worth watching. Revolutions is a fun action movie, but they sort of left the most interesting questions Reloaded asked by the wayside.

Reloaded is probably one of the only films I'll never understood the hate for. It's my Speed Racer.

Some of these movies should never have been approached with expectations, thus leaving you with disappointment. I mean, were people expecting anything from any of the Bloodrayne movies, or 10,000 BC? Really, anything other than crap was asking for too much with stuff like that.

I love 2 too. My theory is that people who put Matrix 1 on a fucking pedestal wasn't familiar with the materials that inspired Matrix, particularly Neuromancer, Ghost in the shell, HK action movies etc. Therefore they had insane expectation for 2.

Probably Quantum of Solace. Casino Royale was great, one of my favourite Bond films, and the idea of a straight sequel of it with a Bond looking for revenge skyrocketed my hype. The film wasn't only disappointing but also a terrible one.
