MotorStorm 2 Screens & Interview (and gameplay video)

Looks awesome.

It's motion blur fucking tards. In motion (like the name fucking states) it will look natural.
It amazes me that people still don't seem to get this. Quality motion blur is one of the best things to happen to games in this gen.

There's such a thing as having too much motion blur. Frankly I can barely discern the graphical quality because everything appears smeared in vaseline in those screenshots.

What's amazing, is that most of the people saying 'too much blur' were the same people going ape shit over PGR3 and Gears of War when they released with Motion Blur and how 'good' they looked.

I love it.

Heh.

I doubt the game will be as blurry as those pictures depict. Come one, many of you already played Motorstorm 1, and it wasn't blurry at all. This game most likely is based on the same engine, so why would they up the blur by a factor of 1000 %?

It's a conspiracy.

When does motion blur ever translate well into stills? Wait for a video before fucking tearing the game apart.

We are talking about screenshots. 2nd time you react like that in this thread, what the hell is the problem with you?

They release screenshots, people comment on it.

The faster the motion is, the stronger the motion blur gets. If you pause just about any fast action scene from any movie, it will look blurry as hell as well.

Having said that - they should have released video to go with these screens.

maybe you should reserve your opinion for when some actual directfeed screens at the proper resolutions are released.

What the fuck was up with that pikachu fan art abomination I quickly averted my eyes from?

Motorstorm 2 screens are too small and blurry to comment on.

I'm tearing this game apart? :lol
dibbz appears to be a very sensitive young man.

So was there any other highlights of merit in the article associated with these shots? I assume not, since everyone is just fighting over the motion blur.

Why does it say "Play", "Pause" and "Stop"? Do I need the ZIP version to click on them?

Edit: ZIP is a PDF as well... Not sure what I'm supposed to do

If you hit play it should play the trailer inside the video box. You need QuickTime and the latest version of Adobe Reader though.

Holy hell, MS2 is gonna rule!

The only thing more terrifying than that fan art is the thought of whoever actually painted it.

I'm thinking some checked shirt wearing, fat, balding, moon faced man-baby who's one female rejection away from becoming a full blown 'dancing around his Mother's living room wearing his neightbour's skin as a winter coat' serial killer.

My problem is people saying that the shots looks blurry and the IQ of the game will be shite, when everyone knows that motion blur makes things look.... dun dun duuuun, blurry.

LOL look Crysis am blurry

I dun gud at maken post :|

Idiots, I swear. :/

Isn't a high speed racer supposed to be blurry like that? It's going to look beautiful if those screens aren't touched up. Can't wait to see this in motion. Here's hoping it's at gamers day.

I think of it this way - as a launch game, Motorstorm looked amazing. They can't make the series look worse than it did two years ago, and the original still holds up today.

Motorstorm 2 will, at least, look sweet.

1 - Fix the load times
2 - 4 Splitscreen
3 - Fix the load times
4 - More robust online lobby
5 - Fix the load times
6 - More tracks and vehicles available (no, not DLC either)
7 - Fix the load times

And I'll consider buying it because Motorstorm 1 was fun after it loaded.

Fixed.

The tools were all their in the first game. Just the game was missing.

Game looks awesome =O
heh I love you guys
sometimes

I'm totally confident in this game turning out awesome. Especially now since they are a part of Sony's 1st party studios.

Replays are a nice feature to have. Hopefully we can record them, and share them with friends via HOME or something.

I can't tell that much as far as graphics goes, way too tiny, blurry and bad compression, though it looks really good. But I did see water, which is one of the things I really wanted.

Water splashing + hood view motorstorm driving = going to be really cool.

Yeah yeah I know. I can think of other games, too... :p

The blur is probably added, as some particle stuff. But the models and environments look awesome

Still going to have to hold my breathe on it though, until I see it in motion of actual gameplay. They fooled me once and I will not be fooled again!

That's not CG...

Have people not learned from the FIRST game's screenshots when they thought the blur was waaaayyyy too excessive? It's the same thing again...and again and again.
It will look tons better in motion. Go back and look at some of motorstorm 1's pictures.

Motionblur ingame Motorstorm 1 looked fantastic. Stop obsessing just because you are not used to it.

Take a photo of fast moving objects and you get motionblur.

MOst important thing i got from the MS 2 interview i didn't know about is that the engine is 100% new and not an improved version of the Motorstorm engine, interesting.

They already confirmed 4 player split screen... the online platform is much clearer now that many games have used it well, they already confirmed 16 tracks, which is double the first game. AND lastly, and probably most important, the load times HAVE TO BE BETTER. Take a page out of Naughty Dogs book here.

Also I yeah these shots are old, but they're not crappy scan quality anymore, so now we can see how nice it actually is.

Also new vehicle types would be nice, and give us ratings for each one, basically meaning you can unlock better ones, don't just have set types, have faster ones and what not.

I guess gamers love the clinic look to games. Obviously there is a point to with motion blur is overused but I think GTA IV did it well and to extent the few times I played Orange Box for the PS3. It did help to hide some of framerate issues in that game.
