There's some announcement or info at Gamescom, apparently.

Keep in mind the studio is much much larger than it was when Mount & Blade was released (sort of 2), Warband (like 5 or 6) - It was at around 20 a few years ago, and I'm sure it's only grown since then.

Sure, it's taking them a while, but they'll get there eventually. I'd love to see destructibility in castles, but I'm not really holding out for it.
