The setting was a small medieval castle where a red headed girl was training to be a knight and befriended a green dragon who seemed to be the last of his kind. Actually it is based on the graphic novels of Marten Toonder. He was probably the most successful comic artist in the Netherlands and had a great influence in the Dutch language by introducing new words and expressions.
