lolwut?
:lol no thanksWatch Revolutionary Road and 13.
Oh, I thought you were saying it was nice that he didn't try to imitate Ledger's Joker in Take Shelter... that would have been odd :lolWatch Revolutionary Road and 13.
Watch Shotgun Stories.Watch Revolutionary Road and 13.
yea, they've been trying to expand for years. virginia, talks of LA, etc, etc. they've got a developing brand with a legion of nerds backing it, they wanna milk it for all its worth
I also watched Take Shelter last night. Fucking loved the hell out of it. Michael Shannon's performance was top notch. The whole latter half of the film had me on the edge of my seat, just watching the main character quickly lose control. Pacing was perfect. In regards to the ending,That scene at the end where he flips out in front of all those people and gives that speech. So fucking good.Didn't the shot of Chastain looking down and the raindrops looking like motor oil give away the fact that he was dreaming again? That's what I took away from it. No way that storm could have been real anyways.
im finding raging bull hard to watch. It's not grabbing me at all.
Element said:Hugo.
I fell asleep. Kinda boring.

I wouldn't feel to bad about it; it's not for everyone it's raw visceral style might be a turn-off for some.im finding raging bull hard to watch. It's not grabbing me at all.
It's the best movie I've seen directed by him, though there are plenty of movies I still haven't seen.

You should watch New York, New York.
Taxi Driver is the best film Scorsese has ever put to film.
Goodfellas was his peak. Although The Departed was pretty damn good.
You can't be serious. That would be way down the bottom of my Scorsese list.
...yeah. And you have some movies listed twice.I think my personal Scorsese list would look something like:
1. Taxi Driver
2. Goodfellas
3. The Aviator
4. Raging Bull
5. Hugo
6. The King of Comedy
7. The Departed
8. Kundun
9. Cape Fear
10. Kundun
11. Shutter Island
12. The Departed
13. The Last Temptation of Christ
14. Bringing out the Dead
15. Gangs of New York
16. Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore
17. New York, New York
18. The Last Waltz
I've never seen Boxcar Bertha and despite desperate attempts to find a copy of it for rent, have never gotten a hold of and watched The Color of Money.
This obviously doesn't include his doco's, because if it did My Voyage to Italy would be pretty far up the list. Loved it.
...yeah. And you have some movies listed twice.
...You've never seen Mean Streets, sculli?
Mean Streets is on there. You must be looking at the quoted one where I was still replacing ranks.
So gaf, I'm in the mood to have nightmares tonight. I have Stalker (Tarkovsky), Diabolique, and Inland Empire. What wins?
This sounds about right for me as well. 2&3 are interchangeable. My top five are
1. Taxi Driver
2. King of Comedy
3. Raging Bull
4. Goodfellas
5. The Departed

not sure how I would rate everything else because most of them I haven't seen in along time.
Mine is similar, just in a different order:
1. Taxi Driver
2. The Departed
3. Goodfellas
4. Raging Bull
5. The Aviator
Haven't seen King of Comedy in a long time though. I'm kinda waiting for a blu release before re-watching though.
