I don't know anything about Jersey City, but I can't help but feel living there beneath the shadow of NYC will just make you want to live in NYC all the while loathing that you live instead in Jersey City. I think you are also underestimating how bad the winters are there. But enjoy anyway, congrats on leaving Florida.
The climate in GA is pretty much the same as Florida right?
Well, I asked this in the stupid questions thread, and I felt like this deserves its own thread after further discussion.
I need to move out of my parents' house. I have no option now, my mom is insisting on it. I want to move out of state, though. I'm tired of Florida.
So, I'm going to give you all five cities I want to move to. New York is out, I was told it was too expensive. So, how about these five?
Charlotte
Atlanta
Dallas
Milwaukee
Portland
I can probably get a transfer from my current job at Walgreens, I need rent to be less than $850, give or take, roommates are preferable, and I have about $1000 in my bank account.
So, what to do? Any advice? Save up?
You want to move out of the best state in the nation? Da fuq man?
My place of employment has no transfer policy. I have to reach out to the hiring manager and see if they have something.
I checked, nothing's available. :-(
Move to Canada. We will hook you up.
But I love this place. I wonder if GameStop is hiring, I know there's a location in the Hudson Mall.Dude.. of course not.. it's Walgreens.. there are a million shitty minimum wage jobs like Walgreens anywhere you go.
With bags of milk.

Move to Maryland. We have bipolar weather, expensive housing, and phonies everywhere.
California, Bay area, San Francisco is great and you get the absolute best asian/chinese food in the country
There's cold front here in FL. No humidity whatsoever, and it's nice and cool.
FL would be more tolerable if the weather was like this everyday.
Devo lives in PDX now? Oh man.Portland or the Bay Area would be my choices. I was worried being a foodie and moving from the Bay Area but Portland is just as good. The people in both areas are chill and the weather isn't extreme. I haven't dealt with a Portland winter yet though.
(Northern) Virginia, however, is great. As long as you can put up w/ the traffic.Everyone in here is pretty much going to try to dissuade you from moving to their state, so you might not get the proper advice you want
Don't move to Maryland. Bipolar weather, expensive housing, and phonies everywhere
Staples is accepting applications in Jersey City. I should try that and see if I can get something.
........You want to move out of the best state in the nation? Da fuq man?
It was something I was thinking of for a while, but it didn't become a priority until recently.Isn't this something you were planning for the future..? Save more than $1k..? NJ is not a cheap state and you best be ready for taxes and insurance.
I'd have a minimum of $3k saved up before moving out.

Prepare for rain is all the winter holds usually. Starts in ernest after Halloween.
Heh no offense to Texas-Gaf mean't, but I wouldn't substitute Florida for Texas. Especially not Houston.
It isn't on your list, but Denver.
My move from Florida to Denver was the best thing I ever did. It will allow you to see real winters while being very manageable. You will be close to the mountains so you can learn to snowboard or ski. The area is awesome. Cheapish too.
i hear charlotte is very reasonable price wise. I hear portland is nice, but i dont know your preferences, some people love popular places like LA, others hate them ya know.
why you movin man you dont like pythons and shit? you could have your own python! Florida baby!
Hell yeah! Btw I don't hate Houston just heard it's very violent from the few folks I've known over the years that were from there.

Charleston, SC is pretty rad and the single women outnumber single men. It's not on your list, but it's pretty close to Florida. We even have a bunch of Walgreens.
I live in Florida now.
I think I would really enjoy living in Denver.
Please tell me more, good sir (or ma'am).
Why would you ever want to move out of Florida?
I moved from Cleveland to Florida and love it down here. I honestly don't get the hate.
Since May. We really should have a Portland OT or something since I don't know who all lives here.
We really should. There are a few of us at least. Sadly after my caticorn thread, I can no longer make threads.
