MS: Technology in unannounced 360 exclusives will 'far surpass' anything to date/KZ2

Not that that's an entirely unbelievable proposition, but apparently they're exclusives coming in a matter of months too!

The current technology employed for certain unannounced Xbox 360 exclusives far surpasses what gamers have seen in any game so far. Gears of War was the beginning of this technological benchmark when released on the 360 and this lineage will be carried forward in the following months with exclusives that shall stand for a new definition of gaming experience and provide stiff competition for the opposition."

Sounds like Microsoft's been sitting on some big stuff. What I also think is interesting about the comment is the implicit acknowledgement than KZ2 has set a new bar, which is kind of unusual for a competitor to do.

Anyway, start your speculation-engines..

edit - some folks are saying gameguru just makes stuff up, so..take with a grain of salt?

They could just deny it and say it isn't that great, I guess. Only that would make them look jealous and petty. Better to recognize achievement and 1up it (if they can) than to try and downplay it.

OK o_O How is Gears 2 compared to Gears 1 ??
 
Much like God of War 3 being called a "painting come to life" before we saw it, even if these new games look amazing we'll be disappointed.

I imagine that this was your reaction when Sony showed the first KZ2 trailers 3 years before the game was out and when Jaffe said that GoW3 looked like a painting?
I don't see how this is any worse. It's just PR ...

MS: Future games will be more good looking than current games.

Yeah.... its kind of obvious isnt ? Uncharted 2 is gonna rock us hard tough...
 
Console games look better as generation matures..... Is this so hard to believe?

Still, this is Gameguru, so you have to wonder who their source is... :/

Because if there's anything this board needs, it's more hype.
 
If GoW 2 is the beginning of it I guess it won't go to far. The UT engine is not exactly up to date (lighting and PP sucks) although it can generate some pretty graphics. ;)

It was prerendered, but at least they were showing something that was related to their own game and not releasing a PR statement regarding a single release on a competitors console - something I've always found rather petty regardless of who does it.
