So what games/systems have you guys been playing most and what games are you most looking forward to?

Also, multiplatform games... which platform do you buy for and why?

Personally I've been messing about with X360 and PS3 in equal parts. The X360 definetly has some great games on it, but I hate turning it on because it does sound like a jet engine; the whine does give me a headache after a bit. Similarly, in terms of multiplatform games, I'd rather pick them up for the PS3 because the construction is more solid, and it is a quieter machine. The controller I'm fairly impartial towards. But I also don't like the idea of paying for gimped peer to peer multiplayer.

The Wii OTOH... it's nice for bringing around to parties, but I always end up demoing Wii Sports on that... It's the best demo game one could think of; simple, easy to grasp, and with immediate benefits. Problem is there's next to no depth. Only waiting for a few games on it as well; SMG, MP3 and SSBB.

Looking forward to all the big hyped releases on the X360, as well as the PS3. Will be picking up rockband for the PS3 as well (wireless guitar > wired guitar).

DS: Rocking Diamond still. I think I'm going to buy Layton when it comes. I've been contemplating Etrian Odyssey too.

Wii: EXCITE and Strikers.

Trip: SSHD.

As far as time devoted to each:
40% I choose you
35% Burnt eyes from the amazing
25% Waggle

Only got a Wii and 360. Neither sees much use from me as I play Pokemon far too much. Wii whenever I have friends over or go to a friend's house though. For the next little while it'll go like this:

Metroid Prime 3 -> Eternal Sonata -> Halo 3 -> Zelda: Phantom Hourglass -> Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations -> Super Mario Galaxy -> Super Smash Bros. Brawl -> the day I die

So pretty evenly split. I'll fill in the gaps with other random things. Like Super Metroid on August 20th!

Where the hell is Bioshock in that list?

As for me, the 360 will destroy my time for the rest of the year, but until Bioshock comes out, Okami on the PS2 will suffice :D

Other stuff:
PC: Enemy Territory Beta, CS/DOD Source
DS: Haven't touched it for a year now
PSP: Puzzle Quest

360 get all my love right now, the ps3 gets some Super stardust playtime (during the 360 breakdown periods), as for the Wii, I use it for youtube videos that my daughter likes to watch (Disney parades and the such)

I buy all my multiplats on the 360 in part because of my friends on XBL and the controller. I hate the 6 axis it's too small for my gorilla hands.

I usually buy any multiplatform game for the ps3. Like you commented before, the system does not sound like a jet engine and I am partial to the controller. The PS3 is now my main console, as it plays my ps1, ps2 and ps3 games. oh and super stardust as well. :D

the 360 is for stuff i cannot play on the ps3 such as mass effect. I don't play for long periods, sometimes the noise from the system gives me headaches. I actually finally finished lost planet, though.

Buying a Wii for nintendo games only.

I own a 360 and a Wii in addition to all three of the last gen systems, a DS, and an awful PC. The PS2, unsurprisingly, gets most of my time, but that will change when I get back to college. (Live doesn't work at my house) I suspect the 360 and its cadre of quality MP titles will grab most of my time this season alongside a few quality single player games in Mass Effect and Bioshock. I haven't turned on my Wii since I completed TP in Jan., but I'm contemplating hooking it up for Shining in the Darkness. Whatever the case, it will see plenty of use this holiday season between Smash Bros. and Galaxy. (and perhaps a little Zack and Wiki on the side.)

Too busy with Eternal Sonota amirite?

Wii, PS3, 360 ... and all I'm playing lately is my DS.

Funny, really

Both Wii and PS3 suck!...

Well actually. PS3 is fun, the sad thing is I play demos over and over day after day because all the games are "coming soon" not really a problem but I finished Ghost Recon demo for the 9th time in 1 day! And Heavenly Sword is "next month".

*shrug*

Wii is horrible. Lots of game choices everytime I go to the store, nothing really for me though. No RPG, no epic game. No smash Bros!? Wii Sports it is since I got it...and Zelda but I returned Zelda after I got bored with it.

Not much till early next year will the 2 systems start offering tons more.

But right now I have:

Rogue Galaxy
Kingdom Hearts 2

Wii Sports
Tales of Symphonia
Smash Melee
Gekitou Taisen 4

...most are last gen games *cry*

360: Exclusive and multiplatform games. great controller, great system.

PS3: NGS.

Wii: Nintendo games.

PS3: Tekken online

Wii: Dragon Quest Swords

PSP: Final Fantasy Tactics: Lion War

DS: Subarashiki kono Sekai

That's my current play list.

Currently looking forward to: Crisis Core.

I own every console, and in order of play: PS3, 360, Wii, though I only recently got PS3 and I still play it and 360 about evenly. Haven't touched Wii in months.
I own PSP and DS, and by far I play PSP more, although Phoenix Wright is fucking incredible. Ratchet, Katamari, Lumines, and Syphon Filter are just incredible time eaters.

I've been playing Pokemon Pearl for a few months now.

But I havent bought a game for my wii for several months now, so I've been doing VC and recently playing Paper Mario.

DS gets most of my playtime, to be honest.

360 and Wii take care of my home console needs.

I might get a PSP again after the slim comes out. Don't really need a PS3.

Technically, right now, my DS and Pokemon Diamond is getting a good run.

I haven't touched my Wii other than to Vote. I haven't played an actual game for months.

I don't do much on the PS3 now that Resistance is beaten. I'm still waiting for Heavenly Sword. But I play my brother's copy of Virtua Fighter 5 here and there.

The 360 has been getting a decent run with Lost Planet and Pac-man. But now I'm playing the Bioshock demo.

The PSP gets a Tekken run every now and again.

EDIT: Multiplats go on 360 for achievements, online longevity and the fact that the CURRENT crop are slightly superior in most cases.

i haven't had the ps3 and the 360 at the same time (i bought a ps3 the day after my 360 broke, and i still haven't gotten it back). I figure I'll be playing a lot more 360 once I get it back, I have a lot of forza 2 to get through and if i'm not to much of a wimp to get bioshock, that'll be on my list. I still have sigma and resistance to go through on ps3. In the long run, I think I'll be using bothe equally. My wii will get mario galaxy love, but other than that, my friends play with it more than I do.

I don't know what I'm going to do with multiplatform games yet. I'm inclined to get them on 360 because I love the controller, but I like that the ps3 is so quiet (if you live in a dorm you'd understand why this is a big deal cuz I can't blast the volume at night). If i get a quieter system back from microsoft, I will definately get multiplat games on 360.

The next few months' 360 games will be the ones I specifically go out to get as early as I can. DS games I will pick up when I'm browsing and have the money / itch. I'm still playing quite a bit of Wipeout 64, but 360 is and will for some time be the main thing. I don't have any games left for my PS2, and I don't really see myself buying anything new for it (notwithstanding Virtual On).

As for games themselves, Bioshock until the next big thing on 360 (not sure what that will be).

I honestly don't understand the fascination with Diamond/Pearl. I took 25 hours to beat Pearl, and essentially never touched it again. Good game will it lasted, but....

360: Play it a lot, whenever I have the time.

Wii: Sitting dormant at the moment. In fact it hasn't been used in a while. It awaits the next party.

DS: Hasn't been used for a while.

PSP: Hasn't been used for even longer.

PS2: Retired.

I really haven't had much time to sit in front of the couch and play games lately. I did try the Bioshock demo...awesome game.

Been trying to get a few last items in Castlevania Portrait of Ruin lately...that's been my current gaming ambition at the moment.

My projector makes the most noise so noise isn't an issue for me. I usually have a media center, projector, and either the PS3 or 360 on. When there's no sound, I can notice it...but I don't notice any noise when I have sound fx playing...even at a moderate volume.

i only really play my DS and 360. PS3, Wii and PC been gathering dust for a while now... kinda want a PSP (again) now

I play the 360 tons and the Wii hardly ever. I'm not bothered because I think the Wii will pick up - this time last year I only owned Oblivion on the 360 and maybe Test Drive.

My opinion of the PS3 is the same. Not much out yet, but it's still early days. Probably buy one in about a year's time. Bought the Wii because it's cheap and I had to see what the motion control was like.

DS, PS2, Cube and Xbox are pretty much retired.

I knew someone would say that. Doesn't look like it'll be my type of game. I don't really play many shooters. Halo 3 I'm mostly interested in due to co-op and because I tried out the first two and found them enjoyable enough. I'll try out the demo and see if I like it later, but it comes out too close to Metroid. Hopefully Metroid is still more of an adventure game =( I really am not a fan of games with a creepy atmosphere so that's one of the things I guess.

Most people who are still playing are playing for the multiplayer, not the single-player. I pretty much rushed through single-player so I could get to the meat of the game!

I've been playing Strikers with a friend lately the odd night. Other than that the Wii has gone untouched for a few weeks. The 360 hasn't gone on in a while. Been playing Picross on the DS during breaks at work, and Crazy Taxi on the PSP here and there. Not a lot of gaming lately, weather's been too damn nice.

Multiplatform games, any and all for 360. Superior controller, superior technology, superior everything. No brainer. I don't own a PS3 yet.

Let's see, what have I been playing...

360: Bioshock Demo, Forza 2
Wii: Metroid Prime III Preview Video Channel

PS2: I tossed in Persona 3 today, but could not focus much on it

The only thing I've played on my 360 since I finished Gears on hardcore (which was many months ago) were the fatal inertia demo (which I have already deleted) and the bioshock demo (once).

As for teh PS3:
GAF Resistance nights 4 nights a week, replaying Kessen 3 on B/C, Super Stardust awesome-wowsomeness, that and a bunch of Blu-Ray movies is all I have time for right now. Gotta get a move on to start playing Teh Darkness in earnest on my PS3.

Indifferent2.gif

PS2: Haven't played it in a long time, not particularly interested in Odin Sphere and waiting for GoW2 to drop to at least $30.

PSP: Got bored of it, let my brother borrow it for the year he's in Japan, so there will be a nice backlog waiting for me when I get it back.

Wii: Haven't played it in a while, but I think it will probably get the most playtime this winter.

360: Been playing it a lot, but gave up on Dead Rising for a while when I hit Overtime.

DS: I haven't purchased anything since Ouendan 2, but I probably play it more than everything else combined.

at the moment, my time has been split between the ps2 (FFVIII), 360 (EDF2017), and the original xbox (just beat Silent Hill 2 & 4).

my wii basically sits untouched. i've spent about 2 hours with it since Wario Ware was released. haven't played PS3 since June, i think.

my sister has had the PSP for months now. i was playing FFOrigins on it last time i used it.

DS i picked up the newest Castlevania game and finally got around to playing it, and i've been trying my best to work through Children of Mana, but man does that game suck.

Bioshock will probably get my next week. i'm still looking forward to the JRPGs on the 360, Mass Effect, DS Zelda, Halo 3, and SMG.

I really meant to put down all-console owners.

I should've said; people that own the big 3 consoles...

I'm most curious as to which console multi-console owners have been most satisfied with.

There's no doubt where I stand; but what about the rest?

360: Just got it back, so it's getting some use with Dead Rising.

XBOX: 99% XBMC usage.

PS2: Play it a few times a month. Going through some games I missed.

DS: Tetris DS WiFi rules my life. :D

Equal satisfaction with every console I currently own. 360, Wii and DS have all been excellent values based on the fun I've had with each.

I've got all three next gen consoles and both hand helds.

My PS3 has been seeing a lot of action with me catching up on PS2 games in my backlog. I have yet to buy a PS3 game :(

My 360 gets turned on every night for some quick Texas Hold'em action and lately for BIOSHOCKING Demo.

I've got Mario Strikers in my Wii but barely touched it because I downloaded Paper Mario the same day.

YI2 in my DS for the past 9 months, still on world 3. I put in about 30 minutes of Metriod Fusion while watching Bleach.

Brave Story's in my PSP but haven't had the time to touch it.

in all:

PS3=40%(for PS2)
360=30%
Wii=20%
DS=10%
PSP=0%

I might need to take a leave of absence for Bioshock and MP3 :)

Overall I'm most satisfied with the 360 but that might be because I've owned it the longest.

360: By far gets the most of my playtime, whether it's because of the constant flow of marketplace content or that I have several games I need to complete. This will probably stay this way this fall since 98% of multiplatform games will be better on 360 because of graphics, rumble, achievements, etc, thus having me buy those games on 360, as well as all the exclusives like PGR4, Mass Effect, and Bioshock.

PS3: Haven't been playing anything on it except from what's been appearing in the Store. This will end this month with Warhawk releasing on the 28th, and Heavenly Sword two weeks later. Might pick up Lair depending if I like what I see from the demo or the more likely rental. I'll be picking up Ratchet and Uncharted as well, so my PS3 isn't going to collect dust... but it's not going to run up the electricity bill like my 360.

Wii: Has been off completely for months at a time, collecting dust, etc etc. It'll really get its use come November with Mario Galaxy and Zack and Wiki followed by Smash Bros a month later, but that's about it. Of course, I bought my Wii with expecting exactly that, so I'm not complaining.

DS: I don't buy games for it all that often... but it's all good. Still playing Pokemon Pearl and Ace Attorney off and on, and I'll pick up Zelda and that Duck Amuck game this fall, so I'll have enough to play with that.

I forgot to mention my psp. Poor thing gets absolutely no use, after playing liberty city stories, I realized that the ghosting is just too much for me, so many games I want to play for it though. I'm planning to upgrade in september.

360: The Darkness
PS3: Sigma and Super Stardust HD
Wii: RE4
PS2: SoTC and GOW2
Xbox: Jade Empire
DS: Planet Puzzle League
PSP: noting atm
PC: Lucasarts adventures: Grim Fandango, The Dig, Full Throttle, Sam and Max, COMI

Think that's about it, all this between a fulltime job and fulltime study. :D

Well, the 360 is taking all my time, and I am very satisfied with it. I'm playing:

Dead Rising (3 achievements to go, and I plan to get those this weekend)
Pac-Man CE
Street Figther 2 HF
Double Dragon (200/200 as of a couple of days ago)
Gauntlet
Bomberman Live
DOOM

And I've still got Crackdown and Gears waiting for me once I'm finished with all those others.

Xbox 360 - I just got a 360 yesterday so I've been messing around with it and haven't played any other systems. I haven't played any real 360 games on it yet. I haven't even popped in Top Spin 2 which came in the bundle. I've just been downloading demos.

PS2 - I've been playing Okami so I've been doing most of my gaming on it.

DS - Usually #1. I'm always playing something on DS. I just (finally) beat Castlevania POR a couple of days ago and I play Mario Kart a lot too.

Wii - I play VC games a few times a week but, I haven't played a real Wii game in a while.

PSP - I don't really play PSP. I just use it to listen to podcasts.

The current pecking order:

DS: Picross DS
360: NCAA Football 2008
Wii: Zelda Collector's Disk (Majora's Mask)
PS3: Super Stardust HD and Ratchet & Clank: UYA
PSP: :(

When I'm playing on my PS3, I feel like my 360 is a waste of money.

When I'm playing on my 360, I feel like my PS3 is a waste of money.

When I'm playing on my PS2, I feel like both were a waste of money and that I'm a fucking retard.

But when I sit back I like them all ;o The fact that every 360 game I have is either on PC or has a PC version in the works bugs me until I remember that upgrading my PC to be able to play them would have cost 2 360's already.

I like to buy the "superior versions" of multiplatform games whichever they may be, be it timed exclusive or lead platform or 60fps or sparks, so this type of stuff does matter to me. Problems arise when multiplayer multiplatform games come out though, because most of my friends all have PS3s only, so if they all get the PS3 version of something that runs much smoother on 360, I'd have to make a decision. I'd much rather get the optimized version of everything though, that's one of the big reasons for having both systems in the first place aside from exclusives which is the number 1.

Um, I don't play a whole hell of a lot. So my time is equally divided between PS2 / PS3 / PSP / DS. Yeah I still use the PS2 because I use HD loader so crap loads faster, and it's less wear and tear on the PS3; which I still don't trust. Oh, it's not breaking down today. . . .

Looking forward to Warhawk, Dynasty Warriors 6, Twisted Metal Head On, Fire Pro PS2.

Played a bunch of Gears of War at work the other day, which is pretty fun once the stupid ass A.I. characters get the fuck out of the way; the game stops being a chatty bitch / faux interactive movie, and you get used to everything being grey or brown.

Oh and kick the gamma up so you can see shit.

lol 900lb. space marines.

Most recently I've been playing more of my X360 due to the fact that it's got more games and I've got two systems (one for home and one for the dorm). The PS3 comes a distant second with some playtime on Metal Gear Solid 3 and Super Stardust. Wii comes a super-duper distant third place. I only recently felt like playing Wii sports, but I haven't played anything but that and I don't play it that often.

In the future I imagine I'll be playing my X360 the most still because of Bioshock, Halo 3, and Mass Effect. Although, I'll probably end up playing the PS3 more then I usually do due to Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, and Ratchet. Wii still third, but with random spikes of playtime when Mario Galaxy and SSB comes out. As for multiplatform, I'll probably get the 360 since it's easy to hook up with GAFers through live.

i'm still on the next gen fence. :( Last gen I had a PS2 and a GC.

I have a DS and a Wii so far this gen, though. Not playing anything on the Wii (rented MP8 for nieces -- it was ok i guess, but definitely fun for them). Alien Syndrome was perhaps the worst thing I've ever played on any console, ever. I have yet to rent RE4 (never played any of the others, either!), but I fully intend to. I should be buying Metroid and Madden soon. I'll probably rent Madden first. Looking WAY WAY forward to Christmas and getting Smash and Galaxy. Huge.

My DS has been in a lull until just recently when I figured out why I wasn't getting farther in Castlevania:DoS (I missed one of the doors to underground hell). I REALLY wanted Puzzle League, and Ethel's continued support of Etrian Odyssey definitely have me intrigued. I just don't have the time.

Between fantasy sports, work, marriage, owning a home (bought it two months ago), and GAF, I barely have time to play at all.

If I had a 360 I would be looking forward to a new racing game and Madden. Maybe Bioshock, but I'm not really into FPS stuff.

Ah, I thought this was an unusually pleasant thread.

Picked up a 360 shortly after launch, and immediately fell in love with Live Arcade, Marketplace, and great titles such as Condemned and Oblivion. What I didn't like was that every time I popped in a game, it sounded like an F-16 taking off in my bedroom. Also, I HATE the shoddy build of the system. Every time I turn the silly thing on, I'm praying that I won't be packaging it back up and shipping it off for repair.

I had promised myself that I'd hold off on a PS3 until it dropped in price to a reasonable level, but again the launch hype got to me and I couldn't resist. While I loved the Blu-Ray player, and the quiet/efficient functionality of the machine, I was incredibly disappointed with its initial releases, Resistance excluded.

Whenever a multiplatform title arrives, I almost always pick up the 360 version. Call it lazy devs, technical obstacles or whatever, but the PS3 version is invariably the inferior product, and usually by a large margin. While Oblivion is flat-out better on the PS3, especially with loading times and distant textures (yes, even after the 360 shader patch), every other multiplatform title I've compared - FEAR, the Darkness, Splinter Cell, Madden, has simply looked and performed better on the Xbox 360.

Regardless, I have enjoyed both systems equally for much different reasons and will continue to do so, especially when the heavy hitters arrive this holiday season. Both are fine purchases and I'd certainly recommend them to friends.
