That's not a person, that's a polygon model. It has to be purposefully made that way. It's wasteful (most games don't render the body under clothing, especially if the gamer's never supposed to see it), it's pretty needless for what was obviously never going to show her topless or ever need to design around her bust in that great a detail, it's not something the ESRB would be happy with after the messes they've had over the past few years (even though I doubt this will get much of any attention), and it's part of a game labeled "Family Hits" separately and part of the Children's Miracle Network package. That's a pretty big list of fail. :lol

And wow has this topic bump strayed. Mr. Ballmer, would you please remind them who's at "fault" for this? You can't really blame the fans for this no matter how much you dislike them.

Sure. And it took from 2006 to 2009, deconstructing the game on a computer, editing the model to make parts more transparent, and moving the camera inside the person to see a nipple.

There is no nudity in Sonic The Hedgehog. Just like in real life, people are naked underneath their clothes. If they're wearing clothes, they aren't naked.

This is even more ridiculous than the Oblivion controversy.

Two, actually, Just one would be creepier.

Oblivion got in trouble for it (not singularly, but it was a key issue). I wouldn't say this is any different. Don't confuse that with me being offended or even caring, I just thought this was one hell of a strange mistake on their part.

That doesn't work on a number of levels. For one, a camera clipping through a body is only an issue for undead spirits and cheesy 80s movie plots in real life, but a common occurrence in video games. For another, most developers don't model the body under the clothes and leave it there. They only show as far as they have to so you don't see gaps, then delete the rest, if it was even there to begin with.

Yes, I could have picked Zero Suit Samus or Peach, but this was a more brain-scarring concept.
 
This game was nothing short of a godawful piece of shit that is by far the WORST thing to ever happen to the Sonic franchise. I got about halfway and just stopped. I couldn't take it anymore. I originally kept going because I was a Sonic fan, but doing so was more painful than Wolverine getting his adamantium put in hid body. My god! Everything was wrong with this game. From the first level, on.

There were times when the game almost shined. Silver's first level was actually not bad. Then, his second level kicked in, and it was apparent that it was not really built for him. Sonic's first level was an absolute disaster. Especially when you took control of Tails. Not to mention those high speed parts that killed you instantly when you hit something you could'nt see because you were going too fast. But then, there was the level where you chased a train that was actually pretty decent, but it was the only fun I had with Sonic in the whole game.

Hours of torture just to get halfway and no achievements. This game wasn't just broken and rushed out the door, it was poorly designed poorly executed and was everything wrong with the Sonic franchise. Fuck this shitty game!

This isn't "late to the party" it's "late to the punishment".

I seriously think that if the game wouldn't have been rushed and the load times destoryed it would be much better.
 
There is so much more wrong with Sonic 06 than just the amount of time Sonic team was given to work on the game.

The most important reason the game came out a mess is obvious, yet I never see it mentioned: internal conflict. Too many people had their hands in the pot, and the recipe ended up getting screwed.

I think holding on to the Sonic Adventure engine rather than starting from scratch (they must of done, it was so different) would have helped too but even then you'd have the complete lack of charm and soul in both the visual and story. NOTHING in this game worked. It can't of been the same team that even made Sonic adventure 1 and 2, because it was like they were learning all over again, but not even trying as they couldn't even come close to those.

No pits! Trees and hills as far as the eye can see! Maybe you'll be able to run around an entire planet! It was considered a tech demo, but the possibilities had me excited.

Then they showed us another tech demo showing Sonic in basic levels mainly showing off physics and a night and day engine. The levels were little lumps of land miles from the floor, with bottomless pits. Hmm, I presume this is just a early beta and they'll improve the slightly clunky movement of Sonic and the level design, right?

As soon as that image with Shadow and Sliver beside him popped up some time later though, I knew something was up and the moment the first trailer with Elise popped up all hope was lost me for me.

We were promised with that trailer a revival of the franchise, hence the title being just "Sonic the Hedgehog". The game must of had the same kind of development nightmare that Sonic X-treme did, only in this case they couldn't afford to scrap it (probably sunk tens of millions into it, and Sega are not as prfitable as they were when the X-Treme project started) and just threw it out hoping no one would notice that they had been screwing around so much that they had to chuck it together at the last minute to meet the deadline and not get sacked.
 
I can tolerate a few bad games but anyone who has played and beat sonic next on both consoles might as well stick a fork up their bum.

Hey, I just did it because I had the 360 one, and my roomie asked me to compare. God, the PS3 version somehow sucks even more!

Now this is the only way to play the game: with mates, beer and a lot of laughing.

In fact these videos remind me of the only enjoyment I got from the game: luring tauils and Knuckles into the sea in the hub area and listening to them scream. :lol

Gagaman, I couldn't have said it better. The initial trailer was so promising. And after Unleashed, I doubt Sonic Team will do anything but more variations of the same tired 3D Sonic concepts. Even a polished and above average Sonic game is still uninteresting if its another retread.
 
There were parts of Sonic 06 I enjoyed, possibly more than Unleashed at times.

I do believe there is a huge difference between Sonic fan and Sonic fandom member, HUGE difference...
