No clue about tFs, but I remember when it got mentioned in Gamepro. It was kind of an indication that the Sonic Community was getting very, very big. TFS exploded after that.

I was always an SSRG man, though. I was around back before SSRG got started, actually. The first Sonic hacking page I ever went to was Area 51. The OLD area 51, the one that was nothing more than a collection of odd scans. Those were the days.

Come now, everyone knows Sonic CulT and The GHZ are (well, were at least) the best Sonic forums. Sonic Retro seems to be where everyone I used to know from there migrated to and is probably loads better, but I haven't really checked it out aside from using the wiki to catch up on old community members and look up certain developers. Nothing will beat the feuds Sonic Cult had with Sega over the Sonic Heroes alpha they got a hold of, the developers they managed to hold interviews with, and the times they fucked with the more obsessed fansites. (And occassionally sites that weren't so deserving, but damned if it wasn't funny anyway) The GHZ is just... bitter and sarcastic. But in a good way.

Most of the cool guys post on SA and NeoGAF now though.

It was hard to pick a thread for this, but this game really doesn't deserve another new one. Still, when I saw this, I couldn't believe GAF hadn't seen it. You want to know how batshit insane Sonic 2k6's development apparently was?

If the info is true, supposedly Elise's body is modeled under her dress, complete with polygonal, textured nipples.

I'm putting some caveats on there because I don't know if the model has been modified, but I personally believe it wasn't.

Shorthand version is this: Many of the models have been ripped to a format that can be imported into Garry's Mod. This has happened with lots of the previous Sonic games, Smash Bros, Galaxy, et cetera, there's a thread with some funny creations that pops up here from time to time. As you can see, the poster turned up transparency on the dress part, and then used the camera to clip into the model for a better view.

Now, what's very possible is that they cheated and modified an existing model from some resource to make Elise, and didn't remember to fix it. However, if this really is the unmodified model, that's a pretty significant thing to miss, particularly for a game that sells in this:

And if you think there's no chance of the player ever seeing it in game, now that people know it's there, I'm sure they'll find creative ways to glitch the camera to clipping into the models to confirm.

I'm not outraged, I just love that it adds to the laundry list of what a huge catastrophe Sonic 2006 was. :lol

According to resident Sonic Adventure hacker Polygon Jim, the tits on the model are grade A bullshit. He's already imported and worked with the model before, and the skin for the model stops under her dress.

His best guess is that the modeler took a generic female body and placed it under the dress model. This explains why Elise is seen wearing a black thong in those pictures.

EDIT: Bummer, because this means the game has even less going for it.

My roommate got it, and I completely agree with you. I saw places that it could've been a good game but god, the gameplay was too unresponsive and inconsistent to do anything effectively. Worst of all, I almost loathed him for liking it.

Fixing the load times would have brought it up from a 3/10 to a 5/10. Fixing the other glitches and controls would have brought it up to a 7/10.

So yes, I agree it could've been a good game, but it would've needed a total redesign to be a great game.

Yes. This is VERY noticeable in that on cutscene when tails flies away before the dusty desert level with Sonic. At least 6 seconds longer easily.

Could we please veer this onto why Sonic 2K6 sucks so bad? We're getting into creepy territory here.

What drives me nuts is seeing reviews giving Sonic Unleashed lower scores than 2K6. Unleashed was much, MUCH better than 2K6 in every aspect. Even if you don't like the Werehog, the game is not broken in any way and the day levels were incredible.
