[N-Conf] Lego City Undercover

I think the problem with freeform building is that it's hard to streamline enough to make it a fun mechanic. Minecraft got it right by simplifying everything into cubes, but Lego bricks can fit together in a lot of different ways, and there's a huge number of them to deal with. I've played a few games that try to tackle it on PC, but they end up being pretty clunky and limited, even with a mouse and keyboard.

I wish they could find a better middle ground, though.

Just to comment on the tearing; I play pretty much every Lego game (Played LSW1 on PS2, LSW2 on PC, and every one since then on Xbox 360) and they all have truly wretched tearing. Lego Indiana Jones feels like it was the worst but maybe I just spent the most time with it.

all the lego universe games are like a mixture of pure lego pieces and non-lego pieces... so this is not surprising really

i really think they're not leveraging the whole 'build' aspect of lego's though.

let me build my own lego city, thank you, than let the open world shit begin!

Actually, that's the brain storm! You build your city, and then the game modifies the story/mission to set around what you've built. As you progress, you get new items to build larger portions of the cities (bridges, etc) and more missions open up.

Oh my god I want it.
