Narcissa Wright appreciation thread

Update vlog she posted

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpCH7E1ISLE&feature=youtu.be&a&ab_channel=NarcissaWright

I understand where she is coming from, and hope that she is able to feel better soon. It's hard to not give into the negative things people say about you, coming from personal experience anyway. You try, and try, and try and you can't seem to stop. It's a vicious cycle that is seemingly impossible to get out of. I hope that she is able to overcome all the negativity from the comments, and forums because there are people out there who truly care about, and support her.

Dear Narcissa,

I know things are difficult, and that you're going through a lot. It definitely gets better. Understand that people veiled behind a fake name and computer monitor are going to say mean shit, it's basic psychology unfortunately. I know it's easy to get caught up in, but it's not real. Most people you'll actually meet through the your life will be supportive and want the best for you.

You're an insanely talented gamer and speed runner. It'd be a shame to lose you to something like this. You should be an inspiration for people going through similar things, not a bad thing that happened to point at in the future.

Anyway, I hope you read this. PM me if you ever want to talk. PM me if you want to talk to someone going through something similar to you as well.

She deserves much better, and I hope her life starts getting better soon!

I don't follow her personally, but any member of the gaming community that needs a little love and support should get it.

As someone who has suffered from depression for their own reasons, I can't necessarily speak to your own situation right now, but stick with us. One saying that has resonated with me over the last 30 years is "it's always darkest before the dawn". You are not alone. Xx

Dear Narcissa,

You are a legend to so many people. Do not give into the hate of a miserable few. It's a cliche but it happens to be true: where there's life, there's hope.

Living is like anything else -- it takes practice to get right. But once you do, everything it took to get there becomes worth it. Hang in there. Don't listen to hate.

With much admiration and love,

A fan

Thanks Narcissa Wright for being a hell of a speed runner and for being incredibly brave. Anyone with the courage to be what they want to be in a world that can be so horrible and unaccepting has my respect and admiration. No matter how bad things get there's always hope that it will get better soon.

Like I said in the other thread I actually met her when she was Cosmo back in like 2010, my buddy(who goes by the name Acryte online) ran a site with her and when we were in Chicago we went to his place and hung out for an afternoon and played games, mainly Melee. Really hope she gets better.

Watched her vlog and sad to see how people pigeonhole a person because of how they're good at one thing. I hope people come in terms that she doesn't enjoy speedrunning anymore and let her be

Narcissa, I'm so sorry for all the shit people are saying about you. They act as if you owe them, but in fact they owe you -- an apology, at the very least. I've followed your work in the video game and speed running scene for years now, and I support you (not that you need my support) in being done with speed running and in whatever you go on to do. You are a good person and you deserve better than what internet communities have given you. I hope for better days ahead, and for you to find happiness in whatever you choose to do.

Just one of the kindest people I've encountered on the internet which is really saying something.

Always willing to answer questions and explain things when people have questions about games. And would give explanations that were always easy to understand.

I can remember being stuck in a bad rut but seeing her stream come online I knew I would just have a safe spot to relax and not worry about life for a while. I don't recall what holiday it was (might have been new year's eve or valentine's day) but she started stream early in the morning and did a run of like every game she ran. There was Wind Waker, OoT, Castlevania 64, etc. I remember I was feeling particularly shitty that day and just having a place to relax and have fun for a while made all the difference for me.

Just one of those people that if I knew in real life I'd do anything for them. Being around someone from afar on the internet you never really know someone but I feel like my statement is still accurate. I wish I could do something to help her feel better.

Her WW speedruns were the reason I got into speedrunning and Twitch. So many nights of staying up watching her play games. Nothing will beat her OoT Any% in my eyes, it was such an amazing moment.

I really hope she realizes how much people love her.

I just watched Narcissa's recent vlog. God, i just want to give her a hug. She really needs the support, and i'm seriously contemplating asking her if she needs to talk to someone over twitter. I don't know if that would be a nice gesture or just more stress for her, a random person suddenly asking her to private message. I'll think of it more when it's not 4 AM and have work in 5 hours. This is just a very sad situation. I wish her the best of luck in finding a great future, and I hope she gets the support that she needs.

Said it in the other thread, but I love your speedruns and streams. Your 24-hour WWHD launch stream was the stuff of capitalized Legends.

You're amazing, Narcissa.

I'm a big fan of Narcissa's speed runs and streams. I lurk more then I engage online, but I want to wish her the best in dealing with assholes on the internet. That's a shitty thing that no one should have to put up with.

You'r an awesome person!
