Sasuke isn't really thaaat powerfu I don't think. Last time he fought anyone he had to be protected by his brother. And Naruto still has the same power we've always known he's had. Its just took him 600+ chapters to finally control it.

Tobi is tobi. We learned his backstory a while ago and finally learned his identity. And you may not like the renanimation stuff but it was there since the series first started. And it makes sense how Kabuto came to want to use it.

Sharp contrast to DBZ where you have random shit like Trunks and Cell coming from the nether-regions. Buu, robo frieza, etc. And how they defeat them most times is stupid too. Somehow they always unknowingly have the power within them to defeat enemies and it always manifest in a random manner. You can't call DBZ enemies and characters plausible and then try to criticize Naruto when there are literally the same enemies for most of the seires.

I've been rewatching the entire DB-DBZ series since the new film came out this year, there's definitely a drop in quality once Goku shows up on Namek. It's the beginning of repetitive tropes (Goku saves Gohan & Kuririn from Nappa! Goku saves Gohan & Kuririn from Recoome! Goku saves Gohan & Kuririn from Freeza). Cell arc hasn't really aged well, Buu arc is dumb but entertaining.

I personally always imagined the last panel of Naruto to be an older Naruto standing on top of his father's head overlooking the village, Hokage hat resting on his head. One other possible ending that's been on my mind lately involves Naruto leaving the village to fulfill his father and Jiraiya's dream of peace, traveling the Elemental Counrties, spreading their message and such. The last panel would be an older Naruto facing the village's gate saying "I'm finally home."

Agreed. The thing with the war arc is that the scope is so lazy and poorly thought-out. He's basically taking everyone that was mentioned in the series, including legends, people who have been dead for years, plus past adversaries, and reviving them so that it's a "war". It's the kitchen sink approach.

Oh yeah and many of the baddies they were fighting were just clones from one guy.

Meanwhile the loveable teenagers from the ninja exams remain underdeveloped.

Naruto is the posterchild for completely wasted potential. A host of interesting characters, and most are completely ignored for the majority of the story, and a main character that goes from absolutely useless and stupid to overpowered and still kind of stupid.

I keep wanting it to be good, but it was pretty awful from the very start. It's a shame, because I love the aesthetic and the character design. The story is just absolutely horrid when compared to its contemporaries.

Sasuke is easily the dumbest part of the entirety of Naruto. His entire character arc is entirely pointless.

Only in fights between sufficiently skilled Haki users, Logias like Caribou, Monet and Caesar were screwed without Haki. In pre-time skip, Luffy would had to use lots of creativity and versatility to figure out a flaw in Caesar, and making it a fun fight. Haki made him a punching bag.

I wouldn't have a problem with Haki if it was introduced earlier and gradually developed, but interrupting the journey for two years, just to learn a skill that made Fishman Island and Punk Hazard a steamroll...yeah, fuck that time-skip.

I think that's just one of the weaknesses in Kishimoto's writing. A lot of the stuff he wanted to emphasize didn't really get through to readers.

Now, 600 chapters later Naruto has that level of power, and people are screaming: "why did they turn it into DBZ?"

Naruto loves Sasuke very much but Sasuke is mad because he is confused and pretty. Naruto has tons of chakra thanks to the fox in his navel, Sasuke has tons of powers thanks to the author using Asspull no Jutsu. You can be a pretty badass character and have powers that are cool as shit, but if you ain't got the fox or the eyes, fuck off.

Prologue of Nine tails attacking village in the past and is sealed into a baby Naruto. 9 tails is the strongest beast.
Naruto grew up with the village hating him and grew up alone.
He's caught vandalizing the mount rushmore of ninjas by his teacher.
He fails the final exam to become a ninja.
A teacher used him to in a struggle to attain power and told Naruto he's the 9 tail. His teacher acknowledges and lets him pass the class after he beats up the other teacher by mass cloning himself.
Naruto meets his teacher and his two teammates. His pink hair crush Sakura, who is obsessed with the guy who annoys him the most Sasuke. Sasuke is the top of his class prodigy of the Uchiha clan while Naruto is bottom tier. His teacher is Kakashi, known as the copy ninja. He uses his special eyeball the Sharingan to read and copy techniques.
The gang goes on a few missions together and then they participate in the exam to get promoted. During the exam Naruto meets Jiraya, who teaches him how to summon frogs and how to use the 9 tails.
The exam was interrupted by the sand country and Orochimaru. A pedophile who wants Sasuke's body and Jiraya's former teammate. Orochimaru also wanted to destroy their country (Konoha). During the invasion by the Sand Naruto fights another host of a tailed beast, Gaara. He grew up just like Naruto, but worst. He is defeated.
Sasuke finds out that his brother Itachi (the man who exterminated his clan) was in town and confronts him. Itachi was part of a criminal organization called Akatsuki and their goal was to capture all the tailed beasts. He was mindfucked after an asswhooping. This caused him to develop an inferiority complex and he challenges Naruto. That made things worst because Naruto was a bit stronger, so Sasuke defected to Orochimaru for power. Naruto made a vow to Sakura to bring Sasuke back. They went of a mission to bring him back with ninjas from his class. Naruto confronts Sasuke and found out that Sasuke thinks of Naruto as his best friend and tries to kill Naruto. Sasuke wanted to kill Naruto to evolve his Sharingan to kill his brother. Killing somebody important is a requirement. He defeats Naruto and goes to Orochimaru. Jiraya found out that Akatsuki is planning to kidnap Naruto in 3 years and took Naruto with him so he can prepare Naruto for that day.

That's a simple summary for part one pre-time skip. Missed a lot of things that I didn't think was important.

Time skip.
Gaara becomes kage of the sand village.
Gaara gets kidnapped and his tailed beast extracted.
Naruto came back and hardly got stronger, but the 9 tails was acting up more often, driving him to rage out a lot.
They fight 2 akatsuki members and found out about Sasuke and saved Gaara. Naruto gets a replacement teammate Sai and sets out to find Sasuke with Kakashi and pink hair girl. Sai has other things in mind. Naruto confronts Orochimaru then turns into a mini 9 tails and raged like crazy. Kakashi's replacement for the mission is technically a clone of the first Hokage (president of the village) and has the powers to suppress the 9 tails. He suppressed Naruto and told him to stop relying on that power because he hurted Sakura. They recuperate then met up with Sasuke. Who was about to kill all of them, but they ran off. Naruto went to train with Kakashi because he felt that he fell behind Sasuke. So they went to train on his natural element, Wind. The training was to improve on his father's technique, Rasengan. A energy ball basically that was incomplete, it was missing an element. 2 more Akatsuki showed up and was defeated. Jiraya found out about the Akatsuki's leader's whereabouts and went to investigate. He found out that it was his former student. Nagato his former student has the eyes of the God of Ninjas, the Rinnegan. Nagato fights using 6 dead bodies like puppets. He called it Pain. Jiraya dies and wrote a code for Naruto to defeat Nagato/Pain. Sasuke finds and confronts Itachi. Itachi dies from Ninja aids. Sasuke is captured by Tobi and told the truth behind Itachi. Itachi killed the clan because it was an official mission from Konoha, and he spared Sasuke. Naruto found out about Jiraya's death and went to train with Jiraya's frog master to learn the sage arts. Pain attacks the village and freaking nuked it after finding Naruto's location. Naruto who mastered sage mode comes back and fights him. Naruto gets beat and before Pain was able to kidnap him, Naruto's obessed stalker girl (Hinata) pops out and gets beat up and stabbed. Naruto raged into 9 tails. In his subconscious he met his father (4th Hokage, Minato) and was told the truth behind what happened to the 9 tails years ago. The masked man Tobi summoned it and got his ass whooped by Minato. Minato and his wife Kushina sacrificed themselves to seal half 9 tails into Naruto. Minato fixes Naruto's rage and Naruto finishes off Pain and meets up with Nagato. They have a talk about philosophy and Nagato sacrifices himself to revive people he killed recently, but not Jiraya because he can't. Naruto becomes a hero of the village.

I give up. Too much to enter for a decent summery and I'll miss some things anyways. It get's shitter after Nagato.

The Buu arc is what Kishi should have have been trying to replicate with his war arc.

All we wanted was non-stop fan service, and he couldn't deliver.
