In comparison to what doe. And even in set up, at least the whole hidden ninja village thing seems very ninja, and clans and what not.

Naruto has nothing to compare itself to in terms of ninja pop culture in the west.

Also there is a lot more shit going than Kamehameha, like... alot. Like I question if you have seen it , alot.

The deceit is nothing compared to Part I. I don't even remember seeing hand signs for a long while. And while kind of cool, the
Susanoo/Fox fusion
just made me kind of mad. Beyond that, so much shit seems like it was made up recently. Like of course Juugo's curse mark power
is Senjutsu.
I would have been happier if the Sharingan actually copied Kabuto, seriously. But it doesn't seem to do that anymore. Not even with the so-called copy ninja.

The last good battle in Naruto was The Gold and Silver bros vs The Copper ninja. Gave me a flash back to the choujin exams.

reminder, people that like shounen and haven't checked out one punch man. check that out.

Is it always this awesome? Cause that looks freakin' awesome.

Well I suppose it's hard to imagine it continuing on after the War. The manga died for me during the
long ass Obito-Juubi-Madara fight
which is still ongoing after a year and a half. Honestly, TNJ is used on every villain so
this was no surprise
. I am interested to see
how Kishi will spin Sasuke vs. Naruto at this stage though, perhaps Sasuke wanting to kill the Biju?

Bleach can just end. I'm tired of the whole you-beat-me-nope-here's-my-trumpcard-no-way-aahhhhh-just-kidding-here's-MY-trumpcard shtick with a one-liner about how the enemy "underestimated" their opponent at the end of each chapter. The last time Bleach was good for me was when they were all fighting Aizen and that was YEARS ago.

No qualms with One-Piece, carry on Oda!

By Kishi terms, does this mean there's going to be a new series, and that will be the "final" series? I'm still confused why the translated manga says
Next week the series takes a break. It will restart in issue #1

Kishimoto seems to have no respect for his own mythos anymore. Abilities, legends, and backstories seem to come into existence from thin air, usually to the detriment of what came before. I feel like the whole "sage of the six paths" tale gets more and more distorted with time as stronger and stronger abilities/eyes/etc. seem to magic themselves into being. A lot of it is all too convenient.

Some things are just so overpowered that I fail to understand how they went unknown by the characters in that universe, while others don't seem to surprise anyone and yet it doesn't seem like they saw such an ability as a threat until now. It just feels disjointed, somehow, and convoluted. It's like how the mythos changed from Kingdom Hearts to Kingdom Hearts II and onwards.

Does Shonen Jump reset its issue count every year? Might mean it's back in jan.

not always which is a pro because one of these animated gifs is pretty much a whole chapter lol.

it's a silly joke manga that subverts many 'shounen tropes' but its quite fun to read. It's not a paperback manga, online thing only, which is why the guy can get away with some of the stuff.

I absolutely love Naruto, I've been a fan half my life so this really depresses me. I realize its not the best manga out there, but it is something I look forward to every week.

If I had an ideal scenario, Orochimaru would have been final villain too bad you need nuke level power balls and reality warping these days to be considered a threat in Naruto. I really hate how most shonen manga power scales to the point of making things boring.

Also, I lost it in Naruto when Kishi decided the Rinnegan is... the evolved form of the Sharingan.

I simply stopped caring at this point.

Also when Itachi made the time-loop ass pull power against Kabuto.

We get it. You think Naruto is a modern day classic.

Eh, I gotta disagree. IMO the consistency is one of the strongest points of the series. As I said earlier, the strongest characters in the series when it started are by large still the the strongest characters now. With the main characters(sasuke/naruto) only now catching up 600 chapters later. And they still haven't really surpassed those guys.

Which is why I don't get the DBZ comparisons. I enjoyed it but it was mostly random enemies who just happened to be the strongest beings in the universe randomly making there appearance. The Z guys would randomly fight up until a fight until they randomly find random strength inside them, rinse wash repeat.

What. You mean the people who died? I guess so, sure. Though they played a lot of lip service to the newer generation having improved and reflecting or surpassing the people from the past, only to show that none of them are even a quarter of what the first Kage's were. So that's annoying.

And Naruto and Sasuke have hit ridiculous levels (though not surpassing the Madara/First either). No one in their generation can even hope to think of being able to compete at present. Maybe Lee if he decides to open the eighth gate.

And what do we call
Obito,
then? Just because they were mentioned before doesn't make their zombie villainy make any more sense. Besides, the big guys in DBZ at least had some plausible connection outside of Buu, who was truly random.

Yeah, I picked up on that after the first handful of chapters. It's hilarious all around but ridiculous in terms of detail and combat. I think it's pretty awesome and one of the more enjoyable mangas I've read in a while.

I really want this to become an anime, as much of a joke it is.

Kishi's writing is pretty vague in the article. I know this battle and the current arc is ending. I think that's what that article was referring to and what he was talking about. And somehow it was spun into "The entire Naruto manga is ending"
How do you understand the last sentence, for example, then?

Does Shonen Jump reset its issue count every year?
Yup.

Might mean it's back in jan.
It actually means it's back, well, next week (Japanese magazines are funky that way).
Expect leaks in a few hours.

It's not a paperback manga, online thing only
It's both, now, actually, but yeah, the online version allows him to do more stuff like that.

One Piece cold go on for a good while, Oda created a world so big that only his imagination is the only limitation.
Well it helps that the world is apparently made of a million tiny islands so he always gets a fresh start in a new locale.

I remember when Naruto actually won fights with smarts instead of one power up after another :(

Seriously. These last two power ups in the past 10 chapters were so rushed. I mean, sure -
Sage Kyuubi
was hinted at a while ago, but it's execution was meh. Then fucking
Sage Kyuubi Susanoo
was too much. Also
you get a Rasengan! You get a Rasengan! You get a Rasengan!

Fuck it man.

No

I just think naruto gets shat on in the wrong places.

Naruto didn't start doing everything you all despise just in the 2nd half, it started right after the rainfall arc

The sharrigan stopped copying back in part 1 with when sasuke met his bro. Even before than in flash backs.

For me a huge appeal of shonen manga is the world (including the characters) the story is set in and how it is revealed to us (for lack of a better term, the "exploration" element, perfect for a "boy's adventure comic". Naruto's world-building was certainly promising around the Zabuza arc and the exams, but it slowly got sloppier and simpler. The "war" arc is pretty much the worst case scenario. It would only really work in a fighting game. It seems like a contrived way to get as many inconsequential boss fights in as possible.

One Piece and Hunter x Hunter have the best world-building; they are layered and appear highly planned and detailed (though they are both quite different from each other). Even though One Piece had a similar arc to what is going on in Naruto, it was handled so much better. For one, it was an actual clash between two roughly equal forces and not 5 whole nations or w/e (greatly simplified) against two or three guys and a clone army (ninjetsu gone absurd). It also didn't betray expectations of what these characters would do in a "war". What One Piece does with its covers is arguably more interesting than what has happened in Naruto's last arc.

I always thought fairytale was done by the one piece guy, like it was his side project or something.

In my defense, I never actually read either of them.

I still can't accept why Pain wouldn't bring Jiraiyah back, such bullshit.
'Oh but he was too far away in the river' just doesn't cut it.
It hasn't been the same without him.

What manga chapter is where Naruto and Bee are on their way to the war and Tsunade and the older bro stop them? That where I dropped off from the manga.

I think it was more about time that has passed since his death.

541 is what you're looking for.

So I stopped reading around the point where the war broke out, what's happened since? I read somewhere that Neji's dead, which seems pretty random, is anyone else dead and what about the guy claiming to be Madara?

Funniest thing about the war arc:

Sakura displays some deal of power. Is all like "I'm an equal to the rest of this team!"

then

Immediately falls in line with the rest of the leaf nobodies as the two main characters get work done with the revived hokages.

Dumb manga

Stopped reading it a few months ago, same with One Piece and Bleach. Guess I can finish up Bleach and Naruto when they end. Probably just gonna let the One Piece chapters continue to stack, got frustrated waiting for the newest chapter each week.
