She was bald in Mortal Kombat 2, not a single complaint from the movie audience.

The only people complaining were gamers. MK is a gaming IP. Gamers complained.
Movie-only people didn't give a single fuck. More mature audience, capable of handling different looking women.

She was a side character in the film, like the third, almost 4th string female. And she played a baddie. So in that context the shaved head look wasn't as disruptive. It's practically all I've ever seen that actress do.
But I think selling that look on a romantic lead or main character is gonna be hard. Maybe on a black centric show targeting that audience, but for the rest of the world, the shaved head, especially on women, isn't a beauty mark. And if the legions of african hair weave places and wig shops around me are any indication, it isn't for most of the african-american community either.
For whatever reason the actress chooses that look in her personal life (most likely to stand out and be noticed, ANY attention is good attention for a model/actress I think) I feel she will have to resort to wigs and such in more projects if she ever wants to break out. But she is in shape and has a certain intensity to her, so she can keep playing the heavy tough chick for a few more years.

Not really cheap, they're the heaviest feature of their games.
And to be fair, they're also the only developer in the world who did something like this to such extent.
Resident Evil: Requiem Path Tracing flashlight bounce is almost non-existent most of the time. At times it's hard to believe is there at all. It's very likely this square below would be entirely black in Requiem.
Of course, it is more accurate when noticeable as the bounce casts its own indirect shadows, unlike ND tech.

Essentially, that's true, but as a player, I don't see any downside to a developer using techniques that are so well-executed that I don't even notice them. If these "cheap tricks" are also performance-efficient and free up resources for other features, I'll gladly take them. And as I said, I simply find it more exciting to see a developer perfect their craft and conjure up real visual treats even from weak hardware.

It's not my favorite Alien movie, but not because Ripley has a shaved head; it's simply because compared to Alien 1/2, the third one is BAD.
However, I wasn't bothered when I saw Ripley shave her head. The woman had survived two hellish movies with a xenomorph from Hell, and the shaved head gave her an aggressive look.
There was a TON of discourse about this at the time.

The political agenda is present in all games, all movies, all platforms, and every TV network in the West.
Except in Asia and the Middle East, where the agenda is basically nonexistent.
If you justify watching content without an agenda, then the problem you'll have is that you won't consume anything.
The question here is whether the agenda ruins the game.
Is there an agenda in The Last of Us Part II?
Yes, but the characters are so well-developed, and damn, the game feels so damn good to play, with a 10/10 technical aspect, that I can obviously ignore the political aspect and fully enjoy the experience.
Then there are games like Velinguard, which is pure agenda, and the gameplay and visuals are garbage. I don't play them at all.
The same thing happens with movies. God... they even include an agenda in Batman... but do you stop watching movies because of that then?

Jesus, man. EVERY piece of art has a message in it. The problem of the current times is that THE MESSAGE has devoured the art. There's NOTHING outside of the message and this is the reason why the quality has dropped to abyssal depths.
Besides, you don't expect modern social commentary in fantasy or sci-fi, which is immersion breaking and again, makes any good worldbuilding impossible.
Even if the Intergalactic's MC were Sydney Sweeney, the pop culture references already tell me the game is going to suck from a narrative perspective. It's impossible that turns out genuine and unique, because the egomaniacal cunt who directs it has other priorities.
