these games don't sell anymore
even the latest mario game bombed
Shouldn't they be cooking something right now? His quote gave a vibe they still haven't decided anything which seems weird. Anyways, i don't mind TLOU 2. But a 3 year wait is brutal.
8 months for a few hour DLC game for a size of their team is simply inexcusable IMO. They should have started something 8 months after their game is over. And yes, I do know about the NaughtyDog crazy work hours that they have, which confuses me even more after their break how the entire time has been spent on DLC.It's not really a question at all. They only started on the Left Behind DLC immediately after finishing the main game.
Hmmm. I suppose so. Perfect amount of implied snark in your reply btw.
Sniobi, wanna do me a favor and just make a thread from the AMA? I've already done a bit of the work in terms of screencaps... I'd rather it just be out there instead.

The world is interesting though and so is the gameplay. It needs a The Division style massive multiplayer tps where players squad up and try find resources, kill the infected and protect their hideout
What if they told Joel's backstory, just after, during the first years of the outbreak (and all of the stuff his brother mentioned that he said "gave him nightmares")?Sarah's death
Would anyone be happy with that story? I think I would.
I'm torn on that. I feel Joel brings a lot more to the table that we don't know about.I wouldn't. Left Behind was enough "filling in" of the story. We don't need to know everything in such detail. The best quality about the narrative in The Last of Us is how much it was willing to leave unspoken, choosing to imply or simply cut to black where other, lesser, games would've spelled everything out explicitly.
No prequels. No direct sequels.
This post should be chiseled into the foreheads of everyone disappointed with the original ending or calling for the return of Joel and Ellie because they would like to see "what happened after." You fundamentally undermine what made the original great. Maybe it's wishful thinking but I think Bruce and Neil understand that.I wouldn't. Left Behind was enough "filling in" of the story. please don't? what's wrong with a sequel? I never understood why people are so against a sequel to a game they loved.
if the sequel doesn't live up to the original, it doesn't detract from the enjoyment you had playing the first game.
I doubt that Team 2 is going to attempt a game that pushes gaming further than TLOU so soon. That would almost be doomed to failure.

"The only reason we discussed it is because we thought there was so much demand for it," explains Druckmann. "The thing with Ish, I think it's one of those things that's better left to the imagination - everyone has a different idea of what he looks like, how old he is or how he'd behave. It felt like we'd take something away from that by fleshing it out. Even in the DLC we actually had at one point a note that we wrote out that you'd find that continued Ish's story. It was a really moving note about him and his relationship with Susan, but it felt too much like fan service, too much of a coincidence that you'd find this note."
I am sorry to say but if they made sequel that takes place after the original it'll be hard for me to forget the fact that all the bad things that would happen in the sequel resulting from the infected could have been avoidedif Joel didn't save Ellie from the doctors in the end.
TLOU looks good. PS4 port crowd worries me.
Only interested in TLOU2 if no Joel/Ellie.
Not interested in Jak 4 but would love a game with as much content.
There was absolutely nothing certain about this. That's part of what makes the moral dilemma work.
It didn't sell so much that it'd be impossible to pitch Sony on something else doing better, but I'd be fairly surprised if they didn't get someone to follow it up if Naughty Dog moved on.
Agreed. Let TLOU stand as is (a terrific game) and move on to something else.I loved TLOU but I'd prefer if they did something new instead.
Nah, they said this story of Joel and Ellie is done.

"I can clarify that quote, because I've seen it misquoted," Druckmann told me yesterday. "I said this journey for Joel and Ellie is complete. In a spoiler sense, I was referring to the journey with the Fireflies and what they're after with the cure and all that. We're not continuing that.
"But as far as whether we come back to Joel and Ellie or not, or whether we come back to the world or not, that's all up in the air. I can tell you there are people in the studio that would love to come back to these characters, but the only way we would do it would be if we had something new, something meaningful to say. Because the last thing we would want to do is repeat ourselves."
