I said earlier I live near Toronto, lol.

Yeah, we have them in Vancouver - I dont think it's a particularly revolutionary thing, but I'll be honest, I'd never eaten one until I left the blistery shores of blighty.

Location: USA, Minnesota
Wants from: just about anywhere, though I have been a-hankering for Pocky and Hi-Chew ever since I got back from Japan (must bring more back next time; apple Hi-Chew=God)

Location:Georgia (USA)
Wants: I WANT SOME MOTHERFUCKING TASTY KAKES, COCONUT CREAM PIE VARIETY TO BE EXACT. NAOW.
Specific Candy: stated above.

We're getting close to the 15 person mark on USA.

We have 7 that are not from the USA.

My Plan
I'm going to give it a few more hours and see how many others show up and register. If the USA number continues to rise, I will have to set a temporary cap on the USA participants until the numbers start to balance out.

Another Option
If some people outside of the USA would like, they can send snacks to two (or more...if they wanted) people and in turn receive more goodies. If anyone is interested in doing this that is already registered, be sure to PM me!

Also, the OP has been updated with everyone registered up until this point.

Are we going to include salty snacks? There was a potato chip thread with a few brands that interested me as well.

I see no reason to limit it if the other participating person is interested. I was planning on including some local beef jerky and a bag of chips or two unless there is a problem with it.

I'm down with that. Any type of snacks or "goodies" works for me. Some people send beverages as well. Just to be sure, you may want to specify your limits with your partner once you are paired together so they know how wild they can go when picking out your snacks.

I'll update the OP.

Location: UK, London
Wants: US cereal and candy.
Specific "Candy": Count Chocula, Frankenberry, Oreo O's, French Toast Crunch, Fruit 'Splosions

Can offer: UK specialities such as Jaffa Cakes and Yorkies (worth it for the antiquated slogan alone) and also Haribos (highly recommended).

Also, to get around the too-many-Americans problem, I'm willing to send to a few people.

Location: USofA (near Chicago)
Wants: Anything that isn't gross. no nasty flavored anything or anything with bugs or something in it.

Special want: some cans of Cactus Cooler soda from the california area. Also some Frostee Blue Cream Soda. I will pay for the shipping. good god is frostee blue cream soda amazing. I hate that I can't find it anywhere around here.

Would kill for: Pepsi Blue. I know it is still made in Mexico but I don't know if it's made anywhere else. I would also really like to try Pepsi Raw from Yurop. Will paypal monies for the shipping of beverages.

cloudwalking, why don't you want japanese candy? :(

anyway, I'm interested. Japan has the best snacks anywhere, trust me.

I don't want anything from North America. I do want something from Europe.

I like dark chocolate, I hate milk/white chocolate. I like 'adult' flavors. no peanut butter. etc.

I like interesting snacks, unique snacks that could only be found in your area. I saw some ploughman's lunch crisps on youtube the other day. Looked awesome! :D

Where I am: Wisconsin, US (I wonder if they make cheese candy here. There is a local place that makes taco-flavored cheese, so you never know.)
Where I want stuff from: Preferably nothing from North America.
Specifics: Something regional, maybe.

Would it be possible to do drinks? I really want to try that cucumber Pepsi from Japan.
SAME.

also if people want pocky theres plenty of places around chicago and wisconsin that i can get it at. As well as this other thing called Hello Panda that is amazing. It's like Koala Yummies basically. The strawberry hello panda is like a tasty orgasm of deliciousness.

Can we get candy pictures or snack pictures posted and pick from there? Makes it easier for some of us who have never seen/heard of candy from other regions.
I would like candy similar to these :D If you have something they make i nyour region similar to these, please I'll take it!

For tnw

- Scotland, UK
- Anywhere
- I like Dark Chocolate, the wife likes Milk Chocolate, but pretty much anything will be fine...

Well I'm from Baltimore, so my family tends to send me what ever I'm missing when ever I ask for it, so while I don't need to be paired with US residents I won't really mind either...

Also to give you guys some quick ideas of what the UK has to offer:

poky suck.

i can post some snacks I guess, don't have time right now though,

and I don't think they sell the cucumber pepsi anymore (not that I ever look at the delightful small in proportion to the tea section- fizzy drink section here ever)

and for any brit's, they have lots of interesting mcVities/digestives here :D

and all of that american candy you posted is so generic. I can buy all of those things in Tokyo

Right. He questions why the guy doesn't prefer Japanese candy, then he goes on to specify no N.A. candy :lol There are so many N.A. candy variations, that any such statement reeks of ignorance.

lol

I'm definitely in

Location: USA
Location I'd like candy from: Japan, Australia
Types of candy: I love gummy candy, sour candy, and licorice. But not black licorice, or twizzler(artificial and gross) flavor licorice.

I am curious if anyone in Massachusetts has tried Brawndo yet? I definitely want to try it. This is not a joke, the company that makes that Cocaine energy drink released it there a few months ago.

Do you have a Cost Plus World Market near you? They sell Pocky and Hi-Chew.

edit: If we're talking about Japanese snacks, I'd kill for some Lemon Fran. The big Japanese grocery store in Seattle sells Strawberry, White Chocolate, Coffee, and Chocolate Fran from time to time, but they've never had Lemon Fran. I had it when I was in Japan back in 2006 and absolutely loved it.

Also, my wife desperately wants some of these:

We ate these like crazy while we on our honeymoon in Japan, and can't find them anywhere locally or online. Play Asia used to carry them, but has been long out of stock.

Count me in.

Location: Finland (Europe ;))
I'd love stuff from the States, especially double-stuf Oreos. Will send local delicacies wherever necessary.

Really? So you wont have any trouble with my request if you get me right?

"I would like candy similar to these If you have something they make i nyour region similar to these, please I'll take it!"

Or did you fail to read it correctly? Do you complain about everything that is American?

Here is something a little more specific to my area that I can offer and is highly recommend by me. It's mexican candy.

These are great!

YUP!!! Ours look a lil different, but I am sure they are all the same. Those are great as well. I can send those and the De La Rosa's to people if they want something more mexican, along with american candy.

I would be down for some real cadbury chocolate from across the pond. I'll figure out what mailing address would work best and then setup contact information.

General location: Arkansas in the USA
Looking for Kinder chocolate or Cadbury

i think vas_a_morir wants to be my partner, but i'll list all this stuff anyway so i get registered. can't sleep anyway :P

location: switzerland
want candy from: anywhere but japan
preferences: everything is ok as long as it's candy. i'm not a big fan of black licorice. cookies are fair game too.

i can get pretty much any brand of swiss chocolate. they come in a variety of price ranges so if you primarily want chocolate you'll have to give me an idea of which brands and such. besides swiss sweets and candies i can also get my hands on some german stuff (haribo, etc.)

Okay. IT's on.

Location: America.
Want candy from: Switzerland.
Preferences: I am a fan of Swiss Chocolate, but I'll try anything. I'm willing to take suggestions.

Location: Taipei, Taiwan

Wants: No American/Japanese/Chinese treats (I'm used to most of these, and unless it's from a small shop, I have probably eaten it before)

Where I want stuff from: Europe, Mexico, Canada, anywhere! I'm willing to try anything just not what's listed above)! Candies, Cookies, Salty Snacks, Drinks are all fair game.

Can Offer: I can supply most asian treats (Japanese and some stuff from Taiwan)

Also, could we establish a price cap per shipment? It would be better for people to receive an equal amount to what that shipped. It would really suck if Person A sent a ton of stuff and Person B only sent a quarter or half the amount of stuff back.

I briefly went over this in the OP. Basically, I'm going to match up everyone as best as I can based on your location and your wants. Once I've done this, you'll get a PM notifying you of who your swap partner will be. Then, you can decide amongst yourselves things such as your mailing addresses and your price cap.

Hope that helps.
