6 points.

Super Mario Galaxy 2
Alan Wake
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
Red Dead Redemption
Midnight Club: Los Angeles
Samorost 1 + 2

16 down for June.

Wario Land II
Red Dead Redemption
Metroid: Zero Mission
Metroid Fusion
Alan Wake
Super Street Fighter IV
Blitz: The League II
Wheelman
UFC 2009 Undisputed
Guitar Hero 5
Global Defence Force
Splinter Cell: Conviction
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad
Dante's Inferno
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories

Been chipping away at a few different things, but not making much progress. Decided to sit down and start VCS since it was something I'd really been wanting to beat since it was the only 3D GTA I hadn't beaten. Pretty good overall but fairly short compared to the rest of the series.

I know charlequin is already doing a ton by tallying up each month, but I'd be interested to see how everyone stands at the halfway point of the year after this month is over. Might go back and see how much I did!

Splinter Cell: Conviction
Trauma Team
GundeadliGne
Mega Man Zero 2
F.E.A.R.
Mega Man Zero 3
F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
Half-Minute Hero
Sin & Punishment: Star Successor

Faaaaaantastic game! :D

I finished Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and loved almost every minute of it. It's a superb game, but I found some of the longer combat sequences too long for my taste - I'd rather have more platforming and puzzles. The train sequence in particular was a nasty offender. But that will not prevent me from recommending this to anyone with a PS3. Gorgeous, gorgeous game, though.

This brings my June count to 6, and my backlog count is down to 6.

Games finished in June:
- Golden Sun: The Lost Age (GBA)
- Muramasa: The Demon Blade (Wii)
- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers (Wii)
- Need for Speed Shift (PS3)
- After Burner Climax (PS3)
- Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3)

Next up is Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn on the Wii, which should keep me busy for most of July, and continue with GTA IV on the PC, where I already completed 35 missions out of about 90.

Managed to sneak in Super Mario Galaxy in addition to Deathsmiles, bringing my total for June to 5

1) New Super Mario Bros. Wii
2) Super Mario Galaxy 2
3) Espgaluda 2 (iPhone, played on iPad)
4) Deathsmiles - Love it...played through 360 mode with a couple characters last night, and since it's a great shmup I'll be going back to it a lot.
5) Super Mario Galaxy - Certainly easier than Galaxy 2, but still loads of fun.

7 Down so far this month:

1) Heavy Rain
2) Alan Wake
3) Trine
4) God Of War 3
5) Battlefield: Bad Company 2
6) Wolfenstein
7) Call of Duty: World at War

Wow only one point for me for june

1) Heavy Rain

It was pretty good, just wasn't a fan of all the button pressing and "walking"

Grats to everyone else!

July Backlog
1) White knight chronicles
2) Super mario galaxy 2
3) Persona 4

Zero! How embarrassing!
July will be the same as June, then.

No one's finished a game in July so far? Here's my first:

Trauma Center: Under The Knife 2

I played it on Easy, but still, that counts for something as I've had it since it released two years ago. Next up are Joe Danger and Red Dead Redemption. For the DS, I think I'll finish Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword.

Well I am still working on Etrian Odyssey. I thought I'd finish it before the end of June but apparently not! I had to reassign some skills, which set me back a bit. SOON.

In the meantime I beat Nelson Tethers: Puzzle Agent, and it was fantastic. A Telltalian/Gricklish version of Twin Peaks. Just what I needed after finishing the series for the first time only a week ago. ): Also: god I hope they make more.

Total: 1.

First game of July is Golden Sun: The Lost Age. It was decent, although I preferred the first game more. Next game is going to be Pokemon Emerald to finish my GBA pile. It's the only generation I've never played of Pokemon.

1. Golden Sun: The Lost Age

2 down for July

Sonic Rush
Metroid Prime Pinball

Two holdovers from when I first got my DS, and both somewhat more annoying than expected. Sonic Rush has a ridiculous difficulty spike in the 6th zone, and I'm crap at pinball.

Second game for July:

Trauma Center: Under The Knife 2
Joe Danger

I finished the last main level with 76% and only a handful of medals missing...

First game down for July

Global Defence Force

Superior to Earth Defence Force 2017 in every single way. A new Pale Wing character which handles far differently, many more enemy types, variable sized enemies, loads more missions, levels set at night, unique energy weapons (courtesy of Pale Wing) and a huge increase in difficulty (I could handle Chaos on EDF, yet Easy kicked my ass on GDF).

Not to mention the most insane final boss I've ever seen, the size and firepower of that thing made the mothership in EDF look like an insignificant insect. That thing scared the shit out of me when it first appeared early in the game and started unleashing bullet hell.

1 down (already!) for July:

1) Super Mario 64 DS - What's crazy about this one is that I bought it at the original DS launch in 2004, and just now got around to finishing it :p

Completed Megaman X. Playing some old school games at my friends house that I never got around to. We're gonna tackle Turtles in Time now.

1. Golden Sun: The Lost Age
2. Megaman X

June's final tallies updated here.

This month, our winner with a shocking 16 is stonedwal, then tied for second Aurarian and Twig with 12 each. Great job y'alls!

The requisite "games beaten more than twice" list:

Code:
Super Mario Galaxy 2 12
Red Dead Redemption 7
Alan Wake 5
Super Mario Galaxy 4
Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth	3
Heavy Rain 3
Splinter Cell: Conviction 3
Bayonetta 2
Dead Space 2
Edge 2
Eversion 2
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin 2
Gran Turismo PSP 2
Mario & Luigi 3: Bowser's Inside Story 2
Mass Effect 2 2
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker 2
Metroid Fusion 2
Metroid: Zero Mission 2
Mirror's Edge 2
Muramasa: The Demon Blade 2
New Super Mario Bros. Wii 2
Prototype 2
Samorost + Samorost 2 2
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2

I'll try to put together some more advanced stats and stuff over the next week.

3 down for July

Sonic Rush
Metroid Prime Pinball
Contra 4

Hadn't played a Contra game in years, so this was a nice trip down memory lane. Nowhere near as tough as Hard Corps (which I've spent the most time with), but certainly had its challenging moments.

That final boss blew my mind when I first saw it - got my arse kicked hard for a good hour or two before going back and grinding about 150 more armour - still took a good 40 minutes to take the bastard down. More games need to embrace scope the way EDF does.

Second game finished for July

Global Defence Force
Starfox Adventures

Horrible. One of the worst games I've played in years, every second playing it was painful. I pushed really hard to complete it in the space of 2 days so that I can move on to something better.

I failed quite a few times because none of my weapons could even hit it, in the end I had to rely on Pale Wing's Thunder Sniper R (the rapid fire one) and then The Monster to take down the main dome. Took almost an hour even on easy mode because I had to kill every little weapon to prevent getting ripped apart like tissue paper.

Finished my first for July:

inFAMOUS, or Infamous, if you prefer. I thought it was kind of mediocre overall. It plays well and the story is batshit insane. I think I'm just tired of big open city games.

With one down already and another nearing completion, I think I can break my usual tally of 2 games per month. I'm going to shoot for 4! what what

First blood for July:

Suikoden: Tierkreis

Actually got all 108 stars of destiny. Enjoyed the heck out of it, and as a result I probably spent twice as long as I needed to with it, haha.

First two for the month:

Civilisation Revolution (DS)
God of War (PS3)

Total: 2

Calling Civ Rev done now as I've won the game on Deity with every single civilisation. I haven't got the mentalness to go for all victory types with all Civs (even though I have a good smattering)!

Next up maybe Heavenly Sword (PS3)

Nelson Tethers: Puzzle Agent
Shadowgrounds is a fun top-down shooter with a cheesy story. Not cheesy enough to make me care, sadly, but cheesy nonetheless. Worth playing, though. if you enjoy the genre.

Total: 2

And for my first catch in July, I finished Grand Theft Auto IV on the PC. Great sandbox experience, marred by finicky control influenced by an obsession with detailed animations, and a lackluster checkpoint structure during missions. Overall, I liked Saints Row 2 better than this one.

This starts out my June count with 1, and my backlog count is down to 5.

Games finished in July:
- Grand Theft Auto IV (PC)

Next up is Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn on the Wii, which should keep me busy for most of July, and Fallout 3 on the PS3 - another marathon.

Third game this month is Splinter Cell: Conviction Borrowed from my friend last night and finished it just now. It was alright, but I told him he shouldn't have got it day one.

1. Golden Sun: The Lost Age
2. Megaman X
3. Splinter Cell: Conviction

Shadowgrounds
Shadowgrounds: Survivor is either a shorter game than its predecessor or I lost track of time. (EDIT: Forgot I could check playtime on Steam! Okay wow, Survivor was only two hours apparently. The original? Five.) It was both better and worse than the original. Better because the leveling up system was more focused and worse because there were fewer weapons. The levels themselves were basically the same. Also: a level with a mech. :3

The sad part is that Survivor has co-op, but it's not online. ARGH. ):

Total: 3

Can I ask why you bothered to keep going?

Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals. Uhhhhh. I'm not really sure what I just played. It was some point and click adventure type. A really bad one. With a bizarre story about naked Egyptian gods and robot dictators and what.

I got some sort of perverse enjoyment out of it, and luckily it was pretty short.

D:

Total: 4.

Kicked off the month by clearing two games. Trying to do as much as possible before Dragon Quest IX comes out. Beat Sin and Punishment 2, which I am far from done with, and Final Fantasy Tactics A2, which I am definitely done with.

-2-
Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift
Sin and Punishment: Star Successor

4 down for July

Sonic Rush
Metroid Prime Pinball
Contra 4
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance

If my memory serves me correctly, Harmony of Dissonance is considered the lesser of the seven Metroidvanias, but I enjoyed it a lot. The dual-castle stuff was a little irritating, but only a minor annoyance really.

Correct. I wasted £12 on that terrible game, there was no way I was going to let it break me. Normally I just ditch bad games, but if one annoys me so much that I feel personally insulted and ripped off for buying it, I will finish it no matter what.

You mean you didn't have the skills to full enjoy the power that is Mirror's Edge. :D

I jest, however Mirror's Edge is one of my games of the last few years.

Next

Suikoden: Tierkreis
Mega Man Zero

Gonna be knocking out the whole series over the next week. Been a couple of years since I played them, and hey, this is in the collection, so it's technically not a replay. Heh.

Mirror's Edge strikes me as a game that is designed to be at its absolute least enjoyable the first time you play through. Most of my frustration came from not knowing where the game wanted me to go and dying as a result. Course, probably didn't help that I stubbornly stuck to the Test of Faith the whole way through.

Baldur's Gate/Tales of the Sword Coast

1

Goal is to complete SoA (maaaaybe ToB) and Puzzle Agent this month before life starts back up again.

Thoughts on BG1 - Really stands up well for a ~12 year old game. The story is fairly weak (especially at the beginning) but comes together nicely in the end. TotSC was absolute shit, felt onerous from beginning to end. Aec'Letec was stupidly hard compared to the rest of the game and I ended up just cheesing it.

Anyone who wants to do BG1 again I cannot recommend Tutu enough, but I would just avoid the TotSC elements in the game.

Fourth game for July is Pixeljunk Shooter. It was pretty fun and I really loved the art style/direction. I may tackle Eden next, I'm at the 8th garden, but I really hate having to collect all the spectra over and over again till I finally finish the garden. It makes me really bored.

1. Golden Sun: The Lost Age
2. Megaman X
3. Splinter Cell: Conviction
4. Pixeljunk Shooter

OH GOD I DID IT I FINALLY DID IT I FEEL SO AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

FUCK YEAH

Etrian Odyssey. Yes, the first one. I beat Primevil, the real last boss. :DDDD I made it to floor 26 not long after the game came out (relatively speaking - it's a pretty long game), but then took a huge long break and got back to it recently and have been plugging away at STRATUM 6 for a while now. At least a couple months. Slow but steady. AND NOW I KILLED HIM MAYRHUAHUAHUAHAHRUHURA

YES

Total: 5.

I would have to agree with you that it can be frustrating first time round. However I still really enjoyed it. I suppose the lack of combat was good for me! Anyway, I did the 2nd time round on Hard and Test of Faith, that was quality.

Anyway, didn't want you to think I was have a go!
