Netflix Castlevania series reveals voice cast

Link to article. Video.

The cast of Netflix’s animated Castlevania series has been officially revealed by producer Adi Shankar and actor Graham McTavish, who will play Dracula in the upcoming show.

The cast of Netflix’s Castlevania appears to draw heavily from characters introduced in Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse. Richard Armitage, who played Thorin in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit film trilogy, will voice vampire hunter Trevor Belmont. Joining him in the fight against Dracula will be James Callis, best known for playing Dr. Gaius Baltar in Battlestar Galactica, as Alucard.

Alejandra Reynoso will voice Sypha Belnades and Emily Swallow will voice Lisa Tepes, the wife of Dracula and mother to Alucard.

Matt Frewer, perhaps best known for his roles as Max Headroom and Dr. Aldous Leekie on Orphan Black, will play a character known as The Bishop. Veteran character actor Tony Amendola will voice a character called The Elder.

Searched for a thread but couldn't find one.

McTavish was great in Uncharted 2 and 3 - Armitage is also a fantastic actor from what I've seen him in.

I hope it has a cool art style.

Thorin Oakenshield plays Trevor Belmont and Dwalin (and Dante in Dante's Inferno) plays Dracula.

We're not worthy. McTavish imo has one of the coolest voices out there.

Alejandra Reynoso is not a big name, not like the other two at least. I hope that doesn't mean she's going to be underused, meaning that Sypha is not going to be a prominent character as Alucard or Trevor will be.

They've been working on S2 the last few days going by Warren Ellis' weekly newsletter from last Saturday:
I've been on CASTLEVANIA season 2 recording sessions this week, which I'm not allowed to talk about or Netflix will dart me in the neck, so I can't go on at length about how magnificent our actors are, but those sessions are always a good time. I think I may have ruined an "efforting sounds" take by muttering "here comes the porn audio." But they take me in stride, and I enjoy working with actors, even remotely through a Skype line patched into the board.

Cool cast. I love Graham McTavish and James Callis. I don't really know too much about Castlevania. The only one I've played to completion is Lords of Shadow.

Man, we'll be watching this next week. It's only 4 eps and I'm going to rip through them in one sitting... like most probably

Damn, that's some great casting.

Baltar as Alucard is f'ing sweet. And I'm always down for anything with Frewer, he's a blast.

Awesome casting choices.

Yeah, and McTavish, etc.

And Tony Amendola is a great character guy. Will always love him especially for Stargate SG-1. Plus he's done a bunch of voice work too.

Completely agree.

Richard Armitage vs James Callis?
That's some damn good casting.
Still can't believe that Castlevania is somehow still alive in 2017 and it's in the form of Netflix show.

The best decision MercurySteam ever did for CV Mirror of Fate was casting Richard Madden (Rob Stark from GoT) as Trevor/Alucard. I wished he was used for this series but alas!

Callis killed it during his episode in the latest season of 12 Monkeys. That's really solid casting.

Ha, I thought that was Richard Armitage when they revealed the teaser. That's awesome, he's a great actor with an awesome voice.

hope this doesn't suck. i've accepted i'll never play a legit castlevania again but i'm such a huge fan... would mean a lot to me if this was halfway decent

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
This sounds awesome. I really want this to be good and successful so it can put the notion that all video game adaptations will turn out bad to rest. And also because Castlevania is great and deserves a good adaptation
