New build of Killzone Shadow Fall shows improvements

Just saw video showing the latest version of the forest level

*All lod problems have been fixed - no more pop ups!
*They have added moving mist to the level -looks rad
*they have added god rays to the level. Allthe trees are casting god rays (
*it has screen tearing but the frame rate is solid
*depth of field is back and they have added object based blur
*particle effects seem lacking compared to the latest multiplayer footage

The fog/mist really changes the look of the level. Looks wayyy better than the e3 build. This is a work in progress build it is missing effects and I am sure the screen tearing will be addressed.

I'm actually quite excited for Shadow Fall. I can imagine there are going to be a fair few players on launch day with the bundles SCEE are doing.

My god, it looks incredible even off-screen, I hate the FPS genre but Im really tempted to get this at launch just cos it looks so damn good.

This is shaping up to be a tremendous launch title. Awesome visuals.

Lets hope that singleplayer will be long and meaningful, and that Sony will finally release the whole TGS directfeed footage of that forest mission, with destruction of all bases and crashing down of the Visari monument.

I still don't get how the multiplayer looks so amazing and the single player looks so damn plain. Still, day one purchase and the reason I'm getting a PS4 at launch.

Have they removed the insane amount of muzzle flash yet that is so bad you can not see what you are shooting at, experienced it at eurogamer expo and was so bad I no longer want it which is a shame because I love killzone

OK, that's impressive. I hope there's some exploration aspect involved. This forest looks so beautiful.

Probably the next gen titles that impresses me the most, artistically (beautiful backgrounds and nice design for characters) and technically. These Guerilla are really good. I wish they could follow a more Metroid-esque design for their next game (items unlocking areas, lot of exploration involved, etc).

Looks really impressive graphically but it seems to be just more of the same. It's hard to get excited for it.

edit: Screen tearing? That is unacceptable in a next gen game. I won't even buy it if it's going tear somewhat frequently, that shit drives me nuts. I'd rather have a lower framerate.

Pretty standard. This is all stuff that gets addressed in the final month of development.

Especially "pop in" - it's a process that's pretty pointless to address until you're closing a game and are sure there's no changes to make to an environment.

Glad the game is looking great though :)

It will be very disappointing if the final game has tearing since I don't recall any previous KZ titles having any noticeable screen tearing. Hope they fix that shit...

There was a video the other day that showed this so unless that was an old build it's still there. I'm with you though, it's proper "can't see shit captain" when you aim down sights, atleast in the MP.

You must be trolling since KZ:SF is pretty much the biggest departure from the rest of the series in terms of next-gen titles.

Indeed. Previous games were very grey and had a drab atmosphere. This looks very open or a grand feeling of an open world with some solid colours and beautiful environment. Can't possible see how someone can say they are the same.

More of the same what? The whole game is structured very differently from past Killzones.

Still kicking my self in the ass because I picked the watch dogs bundle over the killzone bundle :( im already making launch day mistakes months before launch.

It's totally different compared to the previous titles, how in the world is this "more of the same"?

It plays the same but you can tackle objectives in a different order in SOME areas. Big deal. What are the gameplay changes? I'm not seeing them.

Btw screen tearing will be fixed. Multiplayer is v synced at 60 fps. Also this build is missing volumetric particle effects seen in the new multiplayer vids

Looks really impressive, will pick up when I get a PS4 next year this is literally the only launch game that looks interesting so not getting right away.

Indeed, if they do not remove it before release I hope they patch it later once millions have played it and hopefully thousands complain about the muzzle flash, not sure if there is any other way of making guerrilla see that it needs sorting out, all I can think of is a thread about the muzzle flash or some sort of petition haha

I really don't get this argument at all, do you want the game to transform from an FPS to a JRPG in order to show innovaton? An FPS will always play like an FPS. Just like GTA will always play the same as a GTA.

No it isn't standard. Certain people like kkrt00 were saying how pop ups are a feature of PS4 becauae of the CPU. I am just adressing the bull shit
