New Destiny screenshots

It may just be the ipad screen DPI playing tricks with me but this shot looks ridiculously clean, I wonder what AA method they are using, more importantly if it is actually representative of what we will get in real-time. In any case, I do adore Bungie's artstyle.

I'm really looking forward to this game.

In fact, my whole family is. Everybody I know is buying a PS4 mostly to coop on this.

Likewise with a lot of friends of mine. We're hoping this shapes up to be Mass Border Fallout Effect or something.

This is one ugly game.

That color palette is the reason for it... plus the lens flares help make it even worse. Another game with visual style designed by some talentless intern. Dime a dozen, these days.

Interesting opinions. You got some people saying it looks like a current gen game and you got some people asking if these are bullshots because it looks so good.

Well, the people who say this could be done on PS3 and 360 are eihter trolling or suffer from a severe case of retinal retardation.

Having said that, some textures are noticeably low res compared to the rest. I expected a bit more tbh, but i guess it will look pretty impressive in motion and clean.

I believe I had a weird moment and started thinking about Titanfall for some reason.

But yeah, Steam Controller will work with everything regardless. Hopefully you can do mixed layouts for games that support mouse+controller simultaneously, i.e. assigning the left pad as an XInput left stick, but assigning the right pad as a mouse. Even if that's not possible, I'm sure someone will come up with a good acceleration-free method for translating between pad usage and virtual analog sticks.

Titanfall does actually have a distinct possibility of landing on Steam before launch. It is published under EA Partners, giving Respawn control of the IP and potential to self-publish.

What's wrong with the color palette?

Nothing, was a very short-sighted comment considering we are only looking at one level here.

If you watch other media released for Destiny you will see that they send you to multiple planets and, by extension, color palettes. Venus, Mars, garden planet (name escapes me), different parts of Earth, etc.

You cannot say that this game isn't varied in its environments.

That's a downsampled bullshot, dude. It's not going to look like that.

Well, there is the difference of that the Destiny part can easily be played with multiple people and I'll assume it has more open areas (but I cannot be sure of that) since Halo 4 kind of sucked in that regard.

Sure the scale will likely be bigger, but Destiny still looks like a last-gen (or "cross-gen") game. The textures and lighting aren't impressive at all for a next-gen title and as far as I know it's a 30fps game to boot.

I don't see anybody using these same excuses on CoD: Ghosts or other cross-gen games but Bungie is getting a free pass for some reason.

It's really not. Tons of games use a similar, almost monochrome color palette.

Ignoring the meat of the argument always makes the counter point very simple to make.

Looks great but if it plays anything like Halo then I'm out.

It looks like a cooperative version of Halo with RPG mechanics baked in. I don't know what else you would want from the creators of said series.

Best part? ADS doesn't seem to be a requirement!
