For all we know Sony could be making a website where they can host true HQ videos of their exclusive games which they will link to in youtube videos and blog posts, so they can truly deliver and properly advertise how their ps4 games will look like, and this is the first video that's going up on there.

I wish

it all makes sense on why the PS4 doesn't have a youtube app

Google vs Sony

It's sad really.

This Monday
ASAP
Pushing for tomorrow

Just go ahead and #SOON it, so we can go full circle.

Ughh, was really hoping for today, but I guess in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter. We've already seen it anyway. I'm secretly hoping that they have an additional video or two as a surprise but that's probably too much to ask for. Still can't wait to see these properly, I guess that says something...

Microsoft can flip DRM policies on and off in a matter of weeks, bring whole new SKUs of their console out in a months time, and Sony can't even get uncompressed video put on the internet within the span of five business days.

It took me less time to use Handbrake to rip my entire DVD collection of Six Feet Under.

If a game is outputting at 1080p, you set the capture device to the desired output format then basically play and upload. I can't stress how confusing it is for me to see them suggesting there's some arcane process to getting the ideal blend of spices for their capture. If they're doing post-processing, that's not in the spirit of a gameplay video. This is promotion for a multi-million dollar release. I'd rather it not become a narrative about how the people behind it haven't been able to provide promised content for a waiting audience of potential buyers.

haha, these guys the kings of "we're releasing a new video soon please be excited it's coming please oh wait oops looks like it'll be delayed sorry guys" posts.

rushy's posted something like among those lines a bunch of times before it was delayed.

How is Chris related to DC/Evo? I only saw his name/Twitter start appearing in this thread but have no idea how he fits into everything.

Maybe point him to this thread.

You know, I understand when the central council of the amish fails to have a HQ video of their yearly convention up in time, but we're talking about game developers here...

Is it really so hard to upload two videos without compression?

Game developers whose parent company is one of the worldwide leaders in high definition video technologies, who also have a motion picture studio, and an online video service (Crackle).

What Sony needs to do going forward. Youtube videos and HQ footage released same time same day. Hell put the download link for the HQ footage in your Youtube video description.

They should have had more video organised for this "relaunch". They made 3/4 animated videos about the workings of Driveclub, including one about the contentious DLC. But they only made two gameplay videos which they sent to IGN who fucked up the quality!

The interview with IGN meant those animations were unnecessary, alternatively they should have posted two extra gameplay video on their site a few days after IGN.

Instead, they are stuck probably talking to marketing to find out if they are allowed to post the exclusive IGN videos in high definition.
