New Everybody's Golf trailer

What do we need a trailer for? The beta has already been and gone and anyone who was in it (like myself) can tell you that this is a GotY candidate and a steal at $40.

Seriously, buy this game.

I was genuinely surprised to see them give the game so much time in the pre-show. With the video and interview time is was almost 5 minutes. I fully expected for them to show 10 seconds of footage in a reel with a bunch of other smaller games. Hopefully this let some people know about the game that did not know previously. Compared to previous titles in America this is much more marketing that the last couple of games have gotten.

I finally got an albatross in World Invitational Vita and thus got the platinum. Only took me 5 years.

I don't know what it is with albys with me and this game. I get eagles up the wazoo plenty long enough to be comparable to approach shots on the shortest par 5's, but the albatross is always just out of reach.

August can't come soon enough.

Day One for me.

Would appreciate character and hole details if you have them ^^`

The marketing for the last 3 Hot Shots/Everybody's Golf games in America has been depressing. I know it's not Call of Duty but damn you can at least let people know the game exists. This is a good start.

Yeah the marketing for the others was poor. I loved Hot Shots back on the PS2 but I had no clue they kept making them on PS3. When I first heard about this game I thought it was a revival.

I had the exact same experience. 3 years of long hole outs for eagle and never for albatross. Finally did it on PS3, went to Vita and did it there the very same day. Life is strange that way.

So the Japanese Playstation Blog just released some info on the 2 new anniversary courses that are coming to the game as DLC. One is called Green Country Club and is from Hot Shots Golf 1 on Playstation 1. It will sell separately for 540 yen if you did not preorder and will release on September 14. The 2nd course is called Shiosai Country Club and is from Hot Shots Golf 2 on Playstation 1. It will sell for 756 yen if you do not get the season pass and will release on August 31 which is release day in Japan. These prices translate to basically $5 and $6 USD for reference. Both courses look like pretty standard courses, neither of them is particularly special like a desert course or anything. Also there is a new article in Famitsu about the game. It's 8 pages long and it appears that slot mode is coming back in some form. The article looks like it mainly goes over the new courses in the game. Here is a link to the blog which has a trailer for the courses on it.

Really looking forward to this.
The beta was a bit dodgey as far as graphics and frame rate were concerned. I hope some of it has been cleaned up.
And those voices.
The voices >:

Beta was a lot of fun. I was little worried with the changes but once you get to playing it is most certainly Hot Shots. (It'll always be Hot Shots for me.)

What is slot mode? Did they mention anything about advanced swing types?

What is slot mode? Did they mention anything about advanced swing types?

It's a tournament mode with slot reels with random status effects both positive and negative.

Stuff like Bunker+2, Strong Winds, Mega Cup, Unlimited Power Shot etc.

If you're in the lead, you get negative ones. If you're behind, positive ones.

As for other swing mechanics. I'm not sure how they would do flyers with the advanced shot. I guess that could just be a negative of using the shot but still give people the option.

Ahh, I remember now. It has been a while since I played a Hot Shots game. Cannot wait for this one.

Flyers are only useful from sand pits and when there are obstructions right? That isn't a problem for me because I always stay on the fairway/green.
I wish.

I wish.

Flyers were when you were in the rough or bunker on certain lies and had a chance of hitting it over 100% power instead of the range you were given(eg 40-60%). In previous games, flyers were random. In this one, there's a specific slot on the impact zone that will give you a flyer if your impact press is at that exact slot. So you can do them on purpose if you're good at impact timing.

Excellent stuff. I was wondering what courses they'd pick.

Now, Green C.C. and Shiosai C.C. are both very plain tracks, but every golf game needs a couple of those. It'll be interesting to see how they fit the holes together into an open-level layout and if they add some decorative features.

I was hoping new courses would cost around $5 so this sounds about right.

So, 5 courses in the game, 1 for preordering, a pack of 3 courses hopefully for about $12 and then one last one for about $5. That would make the ultimate cost of the game roughly $57, including 10 courses. That's perfectly solid value considering how much further they've taken the course design in this one and how much more work each course entails.

Keeps sounding better and better.
