I hope to god that new music is the Kingdom Hearts soundtrack.
Disclaimer: I am not very sensitive to framepacing.
As of patch 1.09 on Pro - It's now locked at 30fps, and the framepacing seems a lot better to my eyes (even in comparison to the initial release, which already had the 30fps lock). There's still something going on with dropped frames, but this is as smooth as it's ever been.

Thank god!!!They added some new music while fishing
But is steady mode IQ like High or Lite mode?
It says the following:
High: optimize res
Life: optimize fps aka uncalled
Steady: optimize performance
Sooooo....
High: 1800p, 30fps judder (frame pacing problems)
Lite: 1080p, 40-60fps
Steady: ???
I
Steady feels like the previous lite mode to me.
So no framepacing fix for high mode?
So no framepacing fix for high mode?
So no framepacing fix for high mode?
I think thats one of the reasons steady mode is there. If you care most about graphics, go high, if you like the most frames possible, go lite, if you want the most consistent framerate go steady.
As funny as it is to have the list of graphics settings expanding like this, it's awesome as hell that they're actually listening.
The issue I have is that they should be able to fix the frame pacing issue in high mode.
Sorry if I'm missing something, but I don't really understand what the point is of the Steady mode if it really is just 1080p, 30fps. What's the difference between that and just forcing your PS4 Pro to only output at 1080p?
Seems really odd that adding an entire other mode was easier than fixing the pacing issue. At least there's some solution, even if it isn't ideal.
It's not odd at all when you consider this mode was actually in the first pro patch. They are basically adding a mode that existed (and was taken out by a later patch) back in, rather than optimizing or creating a brand new mode.Seems really odd that adding an entire other mode was easier than fixing the pacing issue. no framepacing issue.
A leap of logic you say?? This isn't the first time SE did something like this. This is quite the leap in logic. Let's actually have the patch come out before assuming things and doing knee-jerk reactions, yeah?
This is weird hearing you say this.
Forcing 1080p before this patch would either downscale the high mode to 1080p with the frame pacing issues in tact if you had that selected, or give you the unlocked framerate mode if you had lite modet selected. The original 1080p lite mode with the steady 30fps was replaced by the unlock fps lite mode. So there was no 1080p 30fps w/ no framepacing issues option anymore. This one is basically adding it back in as an option. But it's only 1080p...I thought the frame pacing issue was on the 1800p mode?
maybe I'm just gullible but this can't be real right? Cause if so maaaaaan do I regret not getting the fishing trophy yet.
So graphically / frame rate / frame pacing wise, nothing is better?? Really?
What a waste of a patch, I was expecting a fix for the frame pacing issues. Disappointed.
Ummm... all the people that wanted the stable 30 fps are getting it back. How is it not better? So graphically / frame rate / frame pacing wise, nothing is better?? Really?

Wait for DF.
