New gameplay screenshots of The Order 1886

There's basically an authoritarian/elite ruling class in the England in the game, and these 'rebels' have broken off from society and feel disenfranchised with the leadership, etc. Like I said, these guys, The 'Order' are pretty much like the Delta Force of the time, elite marshalls if you will.

Who knows, maybe they're tasked by to take them out by this leadership, or maybe they have a different reason.

Anybody getting a feeling that the story might take a similar path to Deus Ex? The way certain details have been presented, such as how the lower classes have been treated, seems to indicate that the elite are up to no good.

Speculation:
Perhaps the ruling class tries to get its hands on Black Water to abuse its powers?

Possum, shop that to a ps4 case!

Without the logos and the template, this would make an excellent alternate cover!

This game looks great and has a ton of potential, but I really, really hope that it's more action/adventure and not just going to be a cover shooter. We've got enough of those already.

This so much!
Limit the enemy encounter, and sprinkle it with exploration and old school Resident Evil puzzles. I want to move statues to be able to progress!!

More info update today? I hope is a video.
Off topic here, Infamous SS seem very quite for a while now, no update since Gamescom.
The game plan to release on Feb 2014 rite?

That's exactly what I was thinking. I think it's the feeling of deep atmosphere that the pictures give off that makes me want that kind of gameplay.

I have a lot of faith in this developer. This is going to be a turning point in their history because if this game is received well I can't see them making another handheld title.

D:

I imagine the game like this (speculation):
At the begining read the newspaper, hear rumors about beasts and solve the issue, then with time people will know you better and ask for yer help, for example someone says there is a werewolf on his manor ,you go in with yer team, explore kill the thing then get paid in coins, with those coins you can buy alchemy stuff for pots, liquids for special stuff, upgrade the alchemy lab , the hideout, buy new gun parts, armor parts, a horse, or a carriage with horses for yer team and for to carry more loot or for to put a captured monster inside a cage for to be studied at the lab, a zeppelin, maybe even gadgets for to get on top of the buildings. At night the guards would ring a bell for the people to go home and that would be a good time for free hunt and then sell the skins, teeth, etc of the beasts.

For monsters i would love to see, werevolves, vampires, hags, leprechauns, harpies, ghosts, zombies, killmoulis, etc ... with all their variations.

EDIT: should also have detective stuff ala Sherlock Holmes.

I hope there are stores, hotels, haunted manors, haunted forests, sewers, trains.
This awesome city can't be empty inside :(

A man can dream :3

:) I like your dreams...

it's funny to see reactions so opposite like: "OMG CG finally true" VS "Meh, not so impressive, TLOU was better"

pff

Btw, I'm really intrigued by the locations, the atmosphere, the style. Not so sure about gameplay because we saw almost nothing, can't wait to see more.
graphically is really good, even if as for many other projects, I'm not so stunned by the nextgen leap.

I actually didn't think the original pre-rendered footage looked all that interesting, but after seeing the in-game screenshots I'm suddenly a lot more interested. They look very atmospheric, and the 2.40:1 aspect ratio is very intriguing, I'm not sure if it'll be a positive or a negative yet but it's certainly something new.

By all accounts it wasn't pre-rendered.

every single weapon in this game looks sublime. Just look at this grenade design!:

o_O

Yes but under close examination I wonder why they are still using low polys for next gen. The edges still aren't perfectly rounded. They should be using SubDivison surfaces for this type of stuff.

You realise how often you will see a grenade as close up as that in the game right? The answer rhymes with Beer-o.

Dear Lord ... discussing next gen is going to be so anal.

I can't help but be skeptical. RAD have always been talented but they've essentially gone from PSP to producing the outright best looking game anywhere. You'd think they'd experience a transition phase at least

Well SSM is helping and RAD themselves consists of ex Naughty Dog and Blizzard guys. Not surprising the game is already looking this good.

Chromatic Abberation reminds me of what you see on a crt tv that is broken.
My mother's tv and grandmother's tv both had this issue after 10+ years, both were thrown away and replaced.

Have you played their PS3 ports of the PSP games? They are technical marvels.

It's a brand new architecture so it's more of a level playing field for guys like RAD. Their games have had pretty high production values, and you'd expect that there'd be a lot of enthusiasm and excitement within the team now that they're being called up to the big leagues :)

We need to see some game play or another trailer within hopefully GDC 2014. The little we've seen combined with all the art is very compelling.

I also like where they may be going with this as far as story is concerned.

Reminds me of the time I wandered into a BSG (reboot) forum, and found 5 guys arguing about how one CG shot had been reused and how it was 'glaringly obvious' because the gun battery in question had been knocked out in a previous episode.

I wandered out after that.
