Methinks this will be a Gamestop pre-order and you get the demo thing again.. Which sucks.

F#A#Oo said:This game looks soooo boring...there's something that seems off about it. Maybe that it seems like a Spiderman type game...possibly even Hulk.
EDIT: Just read one of the descriptions...yes...definately Spiderman-esque.:lol
Will not be buying this then! Repetition will settle in before you know it.

.Not everything I saw was strictly a Karma example; Sucker Punch also let me get a taste of some of the 100 side missions that'll be packed into this game. Similar to Spider-Man, Grand Theft Auto, or whatever other open world you're thinking of, icons will pop up on both the onscreen radar as well as in-game map to show where people who need your assistance are
Guled said:everything about the cinematics look horrible, and whats up with explaining your choices in detail, that totaly ruins the interest I had in their karma system. At least the gameplay looks fun, but they should have just made a Sly 4

Yeah that bothered me too. Good thing I'm not the only one :lolOni Jazar said:Sure. I'm not talking about the game I'm talking about the IGN article. Two things popped out at me immediately:

Gamestop already has that shitty lightning blade thing with pre-order. So, I doubt it..gregor7777 said:Goddam I hate that.
They would definitely lose my potential sale, at least at full price. Did you hear that Gamestop/SP/Sony?
stuburns said:I'm so glad a demo is coming because right now I can't see me buying it. I'm interested, and it's a barren wasteland this summer, but I'm not impressed with any aspect of what I've seen so far.
I was expecting quite a powerhouse title from this. Ages in development, a single platform development. I didn't expect GTA4 to outclass it visually.
Really? It's been a while since I popped in GTA but what I've seen of InFamous looks like ass visually. Maybe GTA4 did as well though.MvmntInGrn said:Looks much better than the console GTAIVs to me... at least the new IGN footage and trailer.
fine, but atleast stick to the style they are good at. They try for a realistic presentation and end up coming short. I believe the presentation would have been better if they stuck with a cell shaded look.Loudninja said:No I glad they did not, I rather have something new first.
Because of the lack of a terrible paint filter that muddies everything, this wins by default.stuburns said:Really? It's been a while since I popped in GTA but what I've seen of InFamous looks like ass visually. Maybe GTA4 did as well though.

MvmntInGrn said:The PSN videos look worse than GTAIV did but the newer videos look a lot better to me. Same with the new screenshots.
It is also looking a lot cleaner (running at 720p unlike GTAIV PS3 did).
EDIT: GTAIV 360 looks clean but the texture work here seems pretty darn good, better than any other console-open-world game.
Maybe you're right, I haven't seen any videos since the last couple up on PSN.MvmntInGrn said:The PSN videos look worse than GTAIV did but the newer videos look a lot better to me. Same with the new screenshots.

One of the PSN videos end in Coal attacking loads of guys in red and the framerate falls to slideshow territory.Ploid 3.0 said:And it will possibly have a smooth frame rate when moving fast. No jet pack required.
.So, yeah, Infamous continues to knock my socks off. Right now, the game is complete in terms of missions and such, but the team is focusing on polishing everything over and over so that the experience is all that it can be.

The video you reference has a shot of most of the city. It looks large.stuburns said:Maybe you're right, I haven't seen any videos since the last couple up on PSN.
Out of interest, how big is the 'open-world'? You can't drive but it seems you can travel by standing on trains so it could be massive, but I haven't heard anything about how big it is.

Musashi Wins! said:I think the city has to be really good. That's my best factor for these games. I like the jumps and such you can do in Crackdown, but the game feels pretty lifeless apart from that. Hand to hand isn't fun, gunplay isn't too fun. This looks like it could be much better. The illusion of depth is really important though to keep me playing for a while.
Sucker Punch could definitely do something good though. The first Sly game was interesting, and this is a different sort of deal for them now.
Also, I've come to have an exaggerated regard for PS3 exclusives lately, I'm hoping the days of Lair, Heavenly Sword, Haze, etc. are a thing of the past. They've made so good lately.
