I know those images are not entirely accurate, but it does look quite impressive.
Tom Penny said:Pretty good graphics. Very bland / terrible looking gameplay. It looks like forced unleashed and Half-Life 2 gravity gun without the gun. He just runs around shooting electricity out of his hands. IMO Prototype is what this game should have been more like.
Kittonwy said:Not predicting how Infamous will review since we never know how the press will treat it but Too Human was in horrible shape when they first showed it and while it did improve somewhat, it was never all that good even at the downloadable demo stage, didn't offer any diverse or compelling gameplay, didn't control all that well, the combat animations were not good, there were problems with the auto-aim, what it offered it didn't manage to do well, the situation is very different with Infamous, the controls have already been said to be good as well as it offers traversal as well as distance/melee combat, the aiming looks to be solid as well, so I'm not sure why you're so down on it.
Pretty much.MvmntInGrn said:But we already have Prototype, we don't need another. :lol The more I see of both the more clear it is that "open-world" is where the similarities end.

Dizzan said:No reason, I just have a feeling it will bomb in reviews. You guys seem to be freaking out and taking me the wrong way. I'm excited for Infamous and so far it looks really promising, as did Too Human but when it came to review time it was hammered by the press.
I hope I'm wrong but sheesh you guys are highly strung. relax...
Dizzan said:I'm not down on it at all. I just haven't been following it as closely as others. I've pretty much just checked out the pics and some of the vids. Hadn't read many previews and the like. I'm actually looking forward to it a lot as long as the combat doesn't become too repetitive.
I see that criticism a LOT re: this game and it's mostly unfounded. With the abilities at your disposal, the player's the one responsible for any repetitive nature of the combat. The reason the majority of the vids do a terrible job of showcasing the game's strengths is because they do the same spamming over and over.Tom Penny said:That's my point. This game looks like a repetitive and boring open world game. Prototype does not IMO.

Eh, you can walk around in >insert sandbox game< if you choose to. Other games just give you more options to travel large distances quickly.AgentOtaku said:Anyone else here appreciate how the scale has actually been reduced somewhat in regards to the city. Typically like in something such as Prototype or Crackdown, you have monstrous streets and distance, obviously due to the speed of which you can traverse the environments with vehicles, helicopters, etc. ...In Infamous, the scale seems as if it has been reduced due to Cole primarily getting around on his feet ....I love that! Makes the city feel a bit more genuine, intimate, and not just a bunch of buildings with 5 lanes streets insulating them.

The only real difference between any of them in terms of traversing the city is that this has a more purposeful, deliberate climbing system and Cole can't use vehicles. Though you can be a lot of that brick by brick climbing stuff will be put on the back burner once people level up enough to powerslide and hover all over the place.

I don't think I've ever seen as much asking about and comparing to other games in an interview. Crackdown, Prototype, Fable 2, Assassin's Creed, Sly Cooper etc.____ said:
Ya, but again, you don't start out with the power to do so in Prototype/Crackdown. Just as it is in Infamous. You have to earn the right to be powerful in each of them.AgentOtaku said:I know you can walk around other cities in other titles. But obviously, they're expected to be navigated by a vehicle the majority of the time (or super speed ala Crackdown/Prototype), so the spaces all around tend to be wider and more spread apart.
Doesn't look that way with inFamous
Other than having WAY more abilities and options available to the player for any given situation?Loudninja said:Tell me why you think Prototype looks less repetitive? :lol

You tend to learn this stuff when you actually read about games you're interested in.v1cious said:and you know this how? oh wait... you don't
Don't believe everything you read prior to launch though. People who were interested in GTA4 learned all sorts of stuff... that turned out to be completely falseraYne said:You tend to learn this stuff when you actually read about games you're interested in.
Well over 6 hours without factoring in a single side mission you say?Cyberia said:
No doubt. Which is why the only base facts on dev interviews/statements. I haven't seen them drop a feature/ability yet and there's still much more to be revealed. GTA on the other hand was pretty much journalists grasping at straws and making unfounded assumptions.endlessflood said:Don't believe everything you read prior to launch though. I'm sure I said it before, but I really like how not only your powers being different depending on your alignment, but that there are side missions exclusive to one or the other as well. Then there's the collectibles.. Replay value aplenty.
I just hope the story/ending is appropriately affected by it as well.

Uh, that's there. Combos, launchers, the works.-viper- said:Looks pretty good, but I just wish they'd add a few more abilities or hand to hand combat.
Prototype looked really cool with the huge number of ways to approach a situation. Infamous on the other hand seems like a one trick pony.
At least a demo will be released of this game so I can judge the game for myself properly!
I love when people are all innocent and oblivious when the same shit happens in the other party's threads as well.Ballistictiger said:Man I hate trolls from other similar games.
Infamous combat looks fun reminds me of crackdown having those thug's bullet flying all over the place.
I won't even talk about Prototype in here nor will I come in that thread and bash it.
